LittleBigPlanet Karting Revealed at Sony Event

Media Molecule are gearing up to release something called LittleBigPlanet Karting.

The title was announced at a Sony event called "Destination PlayStation," alongside a new Move steering wheel peripheral, according to a tweet from US retailer FutureShop. It will also be 3D capable.

There's been no official confirmation from Sony, but the LittleBigPlanet mascot was definitely in attendance at the event, note Eurogamer, pointing to a tweet from Irrational Games' Ken Levine.

"Destination Playstation done. Got inappropriately touched by Sackboy," said the Bioshock creator. More as it comes in.

	I'm down for this for sure, I knew MM was moving away from LBP to work on different Play, Create, Share type games, however, I really hope this is not going to be released in place of ModNation 2.

	A kart racing game where you get the creativity of LittleBigPlanet? I feel like I've seen this before... I hope this brings something new to the table other than the Move steering wheel.

	In a way its gonna be Mario Kart/Modnation in one dont you think but if they really use there heads and allow seriously LBP style course creating it will be above the rest for sure.

	I love Karts and LBP. MNR was too difficult for my kids. They wanted to unlock things without having to do these difficult challenges. The age range for it's gameplay and skill is older than 10, but over 10 year olds think it's childish.

	Why are people moaning there is plenty of room for both just look at what nintendo done with Diddy Kong Racing and Mario Kart! If they dont do a carbon copy of Modnation racers and have the DLC costumes from LBP1/2 carry over (and even some of the level dlc, imagine a Metal gear solid racing course) i think it would do extremely well! and also add a Vita version with cross play with ps3 that would be amazing!

	every successful video game mascot needs a kart game, Sonic had 'Sonic R', Mario has 'Mariokart' Crash Bandicoot had 'Crash Team Racing' and now Sackboy.... why not LOL

	MM: "Okay, new IP, guys! No more LittleBigPlanet for now!" Makes LBP racer I like LBP and all, but I was hoping for something more creative than another racing game based off of LBP from MM.

	I'm looking forward to this! This would appeal to me more than a Modnation Racers sequel, or even the Vita game.

	@#9 According to the Sixth Axis article United Front are believed to be handling this not MM. After the potentially great game that was MNR turned out to be a hardcore karting game which (IMO) ultimately failed to be quite either, I'd be worried if I was MM about letting them get their hands on sackboy. But I guess now Sony are in charge they don't get a say in the matter.

	Looks like it could be alot of fun and i havent played a kart game in ages im sure it was a nintendo game though so will probably get this.

	So if United Front make this, then basically this is ModNation Racers 2 essentially? Media Molecule said they're not gonna make LittleBigPlanet games anymore so it's unlikely they are behind this new game. United Front always wanted MNRs to be the racing equivalent of LBP, looks like they might get their chance (unless Media Molecule (or some other developer is making it in which case they''ll be pissed).
