Medal of Honor: Warfighter

Medal of Honor Sequel Incoming, Details Soon

EA has announced that it will unveil a new Medal of Honor title next month.

Invites have been sent to various outlets for an event on Tuesday, March 6th, the week of the Game Developer’s Conference. The big announcement looks set to happen at 20:00 PST.

It’s no surprise. EA has absolutely no secret about the fact that it’s working on a sequel, but nothing is known about the contents of the actual game.

“We expected more and for the next outing, Danger Close and co. are going to have to up their game significantly,” said Dan in our sister site's review of the 2010 Medal of Honor reboot.

Let’s hope they have. We’ll get some indication on March 6th.

Loved the first one, although it had its flaws. Can't wait to see more on this! :D

Looking forward to some more information. MoH had really good story for a FPS, while the MP was pretty lame. Hopefully they can fix everything in this!

I hope that the Frostbite 2 will be much more exploited and optimized.

And PLEASE, a multiplayer with MORE recoil and MORE time to kill.

I think its time for MOH to go back to its roots and do a World War 1/2 game instead of the modern era then i would buy day 1! I know that its been done loads of times but it hasnt been done recently so its a perfect time, im sick of this modern bullshit!

Its a Kondratieff-cyclus, everybody makes WWII-games --> People are sick of WWII --> They make MW-games --> people become sick of MW --> They make Zombie-games ... Actually WWII-games have always interested me. Each one of them gives a new look on the same story.

@6 true in some respect but WW2 is fuckin boring its been done to death and guess what, the ending never changes unless your totally shit at FPS. I personally would like to see a different war than WW2, Im speaking about wars like Desert Storm, the Gulf etc that would be epic

I am very much looking forward to this; the single player wasn't great, story let it down in my opinion but the Tier 1 aspect was good - online is where I really enjoyed it, thought the points streaks were cool, and I liked the fact the games were like a smaller version of that from Bad Company 2

I didn't buy MOH because of the reviews. I then borrowed it from a friend and regretted not buying it. I really liked MOH despite its flaws. It felt more gritty and real. I even liked the Multiplayer for how intense it was because death could come so quickly and the weapons while few in #'s felt balanced. The map design was great in my opinion for a arean death match type game. I think MOH could have been amazing if it wasn't rushed to make it out before COD. Hopefully the sequel will iron out the kinks. Too bad though that even if #2 is 1,000 times better most people won't buy it because of the first one and there hard on for playing the same crappy COD experience over and over.

@5 totally agree. Anyone would think only America fought for the allies in ww2. There's plenty of scope from the British point of view for a ww2 game yet somehow were get portrayed as the peripheral country.

Heres a great idea, skip the lame story and focus on the MP... as long as they keep tacking on the stupid SP story on BF's skip it on the MOH's!!

ANyone know if dice was confirmed as the MP dev?

I do, not say this that often, but I have to state that - Medal of Honor - just does not have a chance really anymore (unless they can honestly break out the perverbial box and reinvent the first person shooter genre (again.) Between the Activision monster (and main support of Microsoft) - Call of Duty - and the alike (Entertainment Arts) Battlefield3 in play now it's just too hard to press into this "modern" battlefield themed gameplay. Halo works because, it's based in a fictional science fiction theme and has little competition in the way as far as the FPS genre is fairly concerned.

Does this make - Medal of Honor - a bad series? No. However, it just means that it has a lot to compete against (and I am not even mentioning the abuse of the genre in general or the flooding of said genre within the last six years or so, now.)

No doubt, this will be a great game just like the first. It basically served as the middle ground between BF and CoD. I may not get it day-one since the Black Friday sales for the past two years have been amazing, but it's a definite buy. MoH was a lot more enjoyable than Black Ops for sure, only Zombies kept me playing BO so long.

And...@14: Lame story alright. Based on true events makes it sooo boring and un-immersive?
@15: Don't underestimate gaming sales, there are plenty of people who will buy this and CoD and anything else that's on the market. Holidays mean extra cash in one's pocket.

The plot to Tier 1 was... Man, Gun, Afghanistan. Please make this next one something worth playing, the last outing was awful!
