Final Fantasy Versus XIII Almost Ready for Real-Time Demo

When Final Fantasy Versus XIII was first announced, the world was an innocent place. Children played with wooden toys and we all huddled around the fire in the evening, so Papa could read us stories.

Approximately 50 years on from that announcement and the world has changed. Riots, famine, natural disasters and economic crisis rip through the globe. Papa can't read us stories any more. Because he's dead.

But wait! What's this? The game's director and producer, Tetsuya Nomura, has told Famitsu (via Andriasang) that the next time Final Fantasy Versus XIII is shown, it will be running on consumer hardware for the very first time since that age-old announcement. Hurrah!

Previous trailers and demos for the game have been rendered on whizzy development equipment, which has far more grunt than your home console. Basically, we don't know what the game is going to look like yet, because we haven't seen a realistic vision of it.

Unsurprisingly, Nomura did not give a date for Final Fantasy Versus XIII's next showing, as Square Enix don't have any showcases coming up. Neither did he confirm a release date for the title, unfortunately.

Just don't count on it being soon. I imagine we'll all have hoverboards and spacepants by then.

	I won't hold my breath, although the fact that they use the term "consumer hardware" is encouraging.

	I would like to say E3 but Square tend to show more stuff at TGS, and thats end of the year, so my bets are, if where ever gunna see this game it might be next year, because Square don't have anything else major that there working on ^^' -_- I've waited for this game long enough now. people get a new call of duty every year and a new assassin's creed every year too, so why can't i have the one game i've been dying to have since GOD DAMN 2006 >///

	well I could wait til next gen for this. As long as its amazing. Anything to make up for XIII. Next gen doesnt seem too far away anyway.
