The Writers Guild of America has announced its nominations for this years awards. As ever, alongside writers from a whole heap of different disciplines – from daytime dramas to Hollywood blockbusters – videogames get a look in.

This years nominees are Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Batman: Arkham City, Brink, Mortal Kombat and Uncharted 3. Assassin's Creed: Revelations catches the eye most, largely thanks to the huge amount of writers involved with the project. Ubisoft employed no less than nine people to wrestle with the game's labyrinthine narrative.

Brink, meanwhile, had just one sole British writer: Edward "Bongoboy" Stern. Good work, Bongoboy!

The awards take place on Feb 19 in Los Angeles. The full list of videogame nominees is below. Who would you pick?

Brink shouldn't be in there, the only thing special in it was the art style and the SMART system... kinda weird LA Noire isn't in the list, that one had a great story with a lot of details!

Honestly this should go to Uncharted 3 or Arkham City. Sure, AC: Revelations has a lot of writers, but that only explains why the story is so convoluted and hard to follow, doesn't necessarily mean it's any good.

I mean, look at Uncharted 3. It was written by ONE woman, just like the previous games. The series would be nothing if it didn't have her writing. She deserves some recognition of her achievement.
