Choplifter HD To Get Free DLC Post-Launch

Choplifter HD will be getting free DLC according to developer inXile, who also responded directly to an article on OXM, examining the rising prices of Xbox Live Arcade titles (which we suppose extends to PlayStation Network titles too), citing the forthcoming arcade remake as an example with its 15 dollar price tag.

"I think there is a perception of similar budgets but we spent well in excess of 1.6 million dollars to insure we could bring the strongest visuals possible..." inXile's Brian Fargo told OXM. "In fact some people have warned us that we might well have spent too much but we did it because we believed quality sells and that gamers will notice. Some of the "retro" games are indeed pretty inexpensive in their production but we went all out on this baby."

And there's the free downloadable content to take into account too, Fargo explained. "I think you will have a blast with the game and we also plan on free DLC to really make sure people feel they are getting the most value possible."

So there you have it. That $15 price is justified, according to inXile, and you'll be able to decide for yourself when Choplifter HD lands on the PlayStation Network this week.

[Thanks, Sam]

Basically means this: You pay 10 bucks and get to pay for add on content. Pay 15 bucks and get that add on content free...

aaaahhhh... you know what allways happens?

"strongest visuals possible..." usually end up being a short lived game.

I mean, look at Limbo, Awesome game, Awesomely Put together, but it took me about under a hour to finnish. left bored and wanting more shortly after spending the $10.
