South Park: The Game Screens Have Themselves a Time

RPG veterans Obsidian are taking a break from serious stuff like Fallout: New Vegas and Alpha Protocol, joining forces with THQ for South Park: The Game, a role-playing game that'll see you rubbing shoulders with Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny, as you embark upon an adventure and explore the quiet, backwards mountain town.

With South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone overseeing the venture, you can expect to see favourite characters like Butters, Timmy, Token, Mr. Mackey et al putting in an appearance. And hopefully we'll see Manbearpig too. We're keeping our fingers crossed for that. It seems that you'll get to beat up 'stupid' hippy protestors too, if the images are any kind of an indication.

It also looks like you'll control your own South Park hero through the adventure in South Park: The Game, encountering the popular TV show's colourful cast along the way. South Park: The Game is out this year, and you can check out all seven screenshots in the gallery. Can't. Wait.

From what i see in the screenshots it looks like it will play out like Castle Crashers. Is this a PSN title or retail? If its a retail i dont think id buy 1st day but i would buy somewhere down the line! If its a PSN title i will buy day 1!

Wow! Animation looks like a perfect match to the actual show. And, with Obsidian Entertainment at the helm, it looks like this will be a decent game.

This is a full fledged RPG. They had a huge article in Game Informer (with all these same screen shots). It sounds really promising, and I can't wait to try it out either. :)

Hey guys, this is not going to be like Chasle Crashers.
I read the 6 page preview in the newest Game Informer mag.
It's 100% RPG, but think RPG from the 90's.

I was happy to see Trey and Matt were really into it and talked about the horrid past South Park games (PSX, N64) and admitted their terribleness!

I couldn't help but think of Costume Quest while reading and seeing the pics.
That's not necessarily a bad thing either.

Looks like soo much fun, something to play when your in a good mood. By the looks of the screens I think the fighting system will be like the PC game "Dragon Fable" the "take turn" fight system.

The animation actually looks better than the show...LOL

I am so excited for this game, a South Park RPG? Hell Yes!

I mean they have a pretty deep stable of characters & plots to mine for story elements...this game will be SUPER SWEET!

From what I have heard this is a Full Retail title fellas! So be prepared to shell out $59.99 (here in the U.S. at least)

castle crashers is nothing compared to this! also you won't need to pay $60 if you buy from amazon. i'm sure they will have a deal on it as they do with resistance 3. that is why i cannot sell this unopened copy of resistance 3 i own. (already beat it from renting it)

Anyway will probably get this for the humour it should contain if it's anything like the show, well the first bunch of seasons anyway.
