Hideo Kojima has effectively confirmed another, proper, Metal Gear Solid sequel by moving to reassure fans that a proper, stealth-based sequel to MGS4 will eventually release.

The comments come as some corners of the community have reacted with disappointment that Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is no longer being developed by Kojima Productions and is instead being created as an all-out action game by Vanquish studio Platinum.

"Had same kind of questions @today's conf," Tweeted Kojima. "Our ex-Rising also were aiming at feel good action w/ protagonist, Raiden as a spin-off, not MGS & such concept was shared w/ new Rising by P*. For those of you desire for authentic stealth MGS, I want you to patiently wait for the sequel coming in future."

When exactly a new MGS game would arrive is yet to be revealed, however. But we wouldn't bet on it being soon. Kojima is currently working on Project Ogre, his mystery new game.

Meanwhile, Kojima has reiterated that his studio do not currently have enough staff to make Zone of the Enders 3. Speaking to GamerFitNation, the legendary Japanese developer said, "We want to make that game as well, the only thing is that we don't have staff who are able to work on that game."

If there were enough staff, however, Kojima says that the game would probably be developed in the Fox Engine, the studio's new tech. "We have an environment where we could work on it using the Fox Engine. If we had staff available to work on that game, we would like to."

Apparently, Kojima will reveal more details on the engine, and presumably Project Ogre, at E3 2012.
