Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Getting New 'Arsenal Modes'

Valve has today announced a bunch of new game modes for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, introducing several 'Arsenal Modes', which are based upon the 'Gun Game' mod for Counter-Strike: Source.

Arsenal: Arms Race and Arsenal: Demolition will add eight new maps and expand upon the classic Counter-Strike gameplay pioneered over 12 years ago on the PC. And to ensure that Global Offensive' Arsenal Modes are faithful to the original Gun Game mod, Valve is working alongside the creators of Gun Game in creating Arsenal Mode.

"We are excited that Valve reached out and is working with us to ensure Arsenal Mode is the best version of  Gun Game," said Michael Barr, Project Lead of Gun Game.

Counter Strike: Global Offensive is coming to the PlayStation Network in early 2012.

@3 It's a mostly online game (mostly as in there is no single player but you can run it on your local area network), there is no aiming down sights which at times I regret but mostly you can use your weapons effectively even without spraying and praying. Mostly.
Of course two successful prequels are no guarantee this one will be just as good, even with the arrival of CS to the consoles but yeah, they are a pretty good indication that it will be.

@2 CS was the pioneer of Zombie mode, it would be wrong with out it.
Though it sickens me that CoD has copied so many aspects of CS that now people think it was the original - Take BLOPS buying mode for example *sigh*

So does this mode contain 8 additional NEW maps - Or just that it will be playable on existing maps, of which there are 8?

I suppose it's too much to hope for some fy_ and surf_ maps. Those were awesome.

Also, de_rats or de_simpsons?

zm_lila_panic or surf_legends_3v or surf_rebel_restance would be cool!!

But it looks like this game is going to have TONS of DLC to buy... I'll get that game for sure but not a day one buy, I'll wait until I see how many DLC they release, I'd say at least 5 (zombies, surf, awp, lego, WC3mods)

Can't wait. I think Valve has been doing pretty good with their games, so I have high hopes.
