You really should be looking forward to the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection anyway, but if you're looking for something to help sweeten what is already a deal that's too hard to resist, then perhaps the news that the HD update of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is getting a little something extra will provide that additional sweetness.

Hideo Kojima has tweeted an announcement confirming that MGS Peace Walker will include support for up to 4-players over the PlayStation Network, as demonstrated in a TwitPic showing Kojima hooked up to four monitors playing the game, in which it shows loading screens with a line of dialogue from each of the characters.

"4 people can co-op and it is 60 frames. During loading, characters’ dialogues pop up at random" Kojima tweeted. Sounds pretty good to us! Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is scheduled to launch in November 2011.

  • Nice. Me and a friend of my were talking about that. We wonder if there would be any co op. This just sweetens the deal.
  • better and better
  • Can. Not. Wait :)
  • I'm buying more collections this fall than new titles. I've got my God of War origins, Splinter Cell Trilogy, Silent Hill Collection, Metal Gear Solid Collection all already paid off. Only other games I'm picking up are SH Downpour, BF3 and Markham City.
  • LOL to Markham city. Arkham city*
  • Not to keep mass posting but I forgot about Ico/ Shadow of Colossus collection
  • I really hope there aren't many MP trophies for this.
  • @7 There might be. This game relied heavly on Co-op at certain parts, especially boss fights on PSP. It was really hard to clear them solo.
  • i love this game. could be the best mgs. 3 was awesome but PW was so addictive. i had it on psp but it broke so never got to finish it. 4 player co-op sounds sweet.
  • After I pick up Resistance 3, Space Marine and Dead Island tomorrow I'm going to preorder this, Silent Hill HD Collection, Silent Hill: Downpour and pay off Rage.
  • I must be one of the few people that thinks co-op lessens a game :
  • Good God, it's an orgy out there.
  • @11 Nope, I agree with you. All the multiplayer/co-op we get in almost every game now is starting to get annoying.
  • When is this coming out? Did I miss a release date announcement?
  • #13 While I agree coop has ruined lots of games such as RE5, it also is great in an equal number of titles. Peace Walker is designed where it's easy enough to beat the game and all the extra ops by yourself but a handful of the very late game extra ops almost require a partner because of the damage enemies do to you. The story was really easy to get through even if you don't develop weapons or any upgrades for your current items/weapons(I didn't develop anything until right after the ending and before the secret true ending). The coop is tacked on as an unnecessary component. That being said, the coop in Peace Walker was executed flawlessly and was obviously integrated from the beginning. Having it as option as it is makes the game better for it being there. There's also competitive multiplayer but I've never played it. Either none of it hindered the single player product which is my favorite Metal Gear so far. Some advice for MGS noobs. Peace Walker is a sequel to MGS3 so play that first otherwise you probably will only get the gist of it instead of the full experience the story offers.
  • the best games on ps3 are the ones we already bought on ps2.
  • Wait, I don't have to search for two hours on ad hoc to find some coop - just won't feel right...lol Good to know, I was dreading getting some of those "S" on those later stage copter battles!
  • Wait... PSN multiplayer? Not AdHoc as previously stated? COUNT ME IN!
