Aliens is a massive movie IP and a labour of love for Gearbox Software's Chief Creative Officer, Brian Martel. So when we sat down in SEGA's booth at Gamescom to chat about the long-gestating Aliens: Colonial Marines, we sought to find out more about the developer's collaboration with 20th Century Fox and concept artist, Syd Mead. Responsible for much of the Aliens universe's most iconic assets, Syd Mead is on board as a consultant, providing his own concept art to the project to ensure that Colonial Marines - as a true sequel to the 1986 movie, Aliens - at least looks the part. Check out our interview with Martel to find out more Aliens info, including whether you'll be able to use a power loader, how the movie ties-in to the game and the best way to deal with a horde of xenomorphs. Clue: it involves short controlled bursts. Aliens: Colonial Marines is out in 2012. | |
