While at Gamescom, we had a rather lovely NBA 2K12 presentation from the developers at 2K Sports showing off the much-enhanced 'NBA's Greatest' Mode, which goes far beyond simply offering Michael Jordan challenges and presents players with no less than 15 basketball legends to choose from to relive moments from their illustrious careers.

Recreated with period detail from the monochrome days of Bill Russell in the 60s, to the heydays of His Airness and Magic Johnson, the NBA's Greatest Mode is looking like it might quite possibly be one of the coolest features in a basketball game yet. All 15 players will also have signature animations and moves, such as Abdul-Jabbar's skyhook and Magic's baby hook.

"Fans across the country were ecstatic to see Jordan, Bird, and Magic on the cover of NBA 2K12, and have speculated for weeks about who would fill out the rest of the 'NBA's Greatest' roster," said Jason Argent, VP of Marketing for 2K Sports. "These 15 legendary athletes will allow sports fanatics to create the NBA's most storied matchups - and lock in bragging rights for their favourite teams in NBA 2K12."
