New PoP: Forgotten Sands Screens Surface From The Ether Of Time

New PoP: Forgotten Sands Screens Surface From The Ether Of Time
Written Tuesday, January 12, 2010 by Richard Walker

Genuinely sexy screens from the new Prince Of Persia title, The Forgotten Sands have materialised from out of the great blue yonder, travelling through time to make it here intact for your viewing pleasure.

They show the Prince returning to his Warrior Within stylee, rocking the old brown apparel and swinging a big, old scimitar. You may also notice that the art style and environment is very much like Warrior Within and Two Thrones.

Presumably the older visual stylings have been resurrected to tie in with the upcoming Jerry Bruckheimer-produced movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal due out at the same time as the game's current projected release date.

I don't know about this game. I kinda liked the last one that came out so I wanted them to continue that story.

Also does anyone notice that the skeletons resemble the grunts in GoW 3 demo in some kind of a way?

I will buy it.

Sooo..... When is it supposed to be out?
I hope Elika will be in it. The Epilouge left questions unanswered.

It better not be another Horrible Movie Game, even though PoP was a game. I will wait like a week then getting it.

@4...Probably about the same time as the movie. This new PoP goes back to "The Sands of Time", "Two Thrones", "Warrior Within" storyline, and is not a follow up to the game released in 2008.

I don't see why they wanted to go back to the Sands Of Time story line. The should have continued with the newer one. Either way im going to get this. I am a big fan of the Prince Of Persia series.

They went back to the Sands of Time series because of the movie coming out in May. I'm also hoping they continue the new series as well though.

My guess is this will be released with the movie so by May or the latest June.

Yeah, I'm guessing they went back to the old story line since the average joe will be familiar with the movie and buy the game. That's not greedy at all.

I didn't like the new PoP that came out recently. Glad they're going back to the old visual style.

OK, so this looks good and I feel like I won't be disappointed like I was with the latest one. The latest PoP was nice with an interesting story but the game was way too easy... I always saw this franchise as composed of hard games in which you always suffer and feel frustrated but in the latest one, playing with two buttons was a bit boring on the long term.
Now they say that they went back to the previous titles storyline to be on the same level as the movie... but what about the new story developped in the latest one? It would be good to know what will happen with Elika and the prince from that one...

awesome, i wonder if this will be a ps3 updated version of all 3 games ... kind of like they did with GoW collecion. i hope they don't abandon the new PoP story either :/

i sure hope so. i never played a PoP game until the 2008 one came out, which i just picked up like a week ago for 20 bux, only to see i had to buy the epilouge for an extra 10 bux from the psn :cries:

anyway, id love for more companies to do what they did with the GoW collection. a RE collection would be godlike. so would PoP so i could play them before the new one comes out.
