EA has announced Need for Speed: The Run, after the game was leaked over on ShopTo.net. Rather than denying the game's existence and switching into damage control mode, the publisher decided to reveal the game instead, with a teaser trailer.
This is Black Box's Frostbite 2-powered Need for Speed title, featuring "an illicit, high-stakes race across the country". The Run suffix refers to the game's route from San Francisco to New York, where your character must be first to complete The Run in order to get his life back, although we're not sure what exactly happened to his life in the first place.
"No speed limits. No rules. No allies," spouts the blurb attached to the trailer, which features our hero lying upside down in his car on a railway track. We can only assume that his particular run isn't going too well. You'll be needing sharp driving skills and plenty of determination to beat hundreds of the world's most notorious drivers on the most dangerous roads The Run has to offer.
Need for Speed: The Run is slated for release on November 15th, 2011 in North America and November 18th, 2011 in Europe. Check out the teaser trailer below.
