In the latest SOCOM 4 dev diary, released today, Bear McCreary of Battlestar Galactica fame and co. reminisce on their time with the SOCOM 4 score.

McCreary, who composed the score for Dark Void last year as well, talks fondly of his time on Skywalker Ranch, where the score was recorded, and his use of South East Asian sounds to give the score a unique sound and feel.

In short, this Bear knows what he's doing... After all, he even made Dark Void sound like a half decent game!

Wasn't impressed by the beta, looks too much like dressed up version of MAG with unfortunately a third person perspective :(

All socom games are 3rd person perspective, socom has been out many many years before mag even existed, so its nothing like a "dressed-up version" of mag, socom is its own game and it fucking kicks ass, I can't wait to start playing.

A lot of people disliked the Beta and called the game off while forgetting that SOCOM4 will also feature a classic mode in the online. My 2 hours in the beta tell me that we've played a more open to the public style of SOCOM that involved a lot more of run&gunning than we're used of SOCOM.
I'd say this game has things for a lot of different style players.
And quite frankly, I liked what I saw.
