![]() | More Former Bizarre Creations Devs Form Indie Micro-Studio Written Thursday, March 24, 2011 By Richard Walker View author's profile |
Rising from the ashes of Bizarre Creations is a second new studio, following the formation of Lucid Games headed up by managing director Peter Wallace. Now a brand spanking new micro-studio named Hogrocket has also been formed by another group of ex-Bizarre staff. Based in the North-West of England, the new indie studio is being led by Geometry Wars' daddy and now technical director at Hogrocket, Stephen Cakebread, Bizarre's former community manager, Ben Ward who now fulfils the role of managing director and Peter Collier, the senior level designer whose work at Bizarre included The Club and James Bond 007: Blood Stone, who now holds the title of creative director at the new studio. "We've started work on our first game, and we hope to have some news to share about it very soon. It's really exciting to be working for ourselves as an indie developer!" said Cakebread. Hogrocket is starting out with development on mobile, social and connected platforms, so we won't be seeing anything on consoles from the developer any time soon, but it's still good to know that Bizarre Creations has managed to land on its feet and form two new studios following the axe being dropped on the PGR and Geometry Wars dev by Activision earlier this year. You can keep up with Hogrocket via the dev's Twitter or through the official website, where you can also sign up to the mailing list for regular updates. [Via Games Radar] | |
