It looks as though NHL 2K11 will actually be absent from 2011's 2K Sports' line-up despite reports that the franchise might not actually be dead. The previously listed advertisement looking for bands to perform in NHL 2K11 was actually for the Wii version of the game, which is still in the pipeline. According to Take-Two Interactive CEO Ben Feder, the publisher's NHL title is on hiatus for the year so that the series can come back stronger for its 2K12 installment. "We're doing that because we're so committed to competing that the team needs a breather," stated Feder during today's Take-Two financial conference call. " The following year we will come back a lot stronger. We have an intention to win and we're going to maximize the opportunity." So, it's to the sin bin for the PlayStation 3 version for now, but if it means that the franchise can return fighting fit for 2012, then the move may well be a very savvy one. [Via Kotaku] | |
