Medal of Honor: Warfighter

Medal of Honor Sequel in the Works at Danger Close
Written Friday, February 18, 2011 By Richard Walker
View author's profile

Formerly known as EA LA, development studio Danger Close - the folks behind the Medal of Honor reboot - is apparently hard at work on the next game in the series, building upon the relative commercial success of the last game, which sold over 5 million copies.

"Yes, Danger Close is currently working on the next Medal of Honor," Executive Producer Greg Goodrich writes on the Medal of Honor website.

"Just recently, EA announced that the reboot of Medal of Honor was a big success with over 5 million copies sold. We wanted to take a moment to thank each of you for supporting us, our new studio and our storied franchise. We would especially like to thank all of the long time Medal of Honor fans out there who have stuck with us over the years," Goodrich continues.

He also states the studio has "studied, listened and absorbed much of your feedback and are very excited to be marching forward on the next title."

So, there you go. Consider the next Medal of Honor very much a 'go'. "It's going to be a fun ride for the Medal of Honor franchise. We are happy to have you aboard," Goodrich concludes.

Absolutely hated the first one. Especially the multiplayer, very laggy and some features just didn't work well in my opinion. And no, before anyone starts attacking me, I wasn't a huge fan of Black Ops either.

Well MoH is getting a much better response on here than i saw on facebook, and I can't understand why its getting hated on so much. Yes it had issues, the campaign could have been longer, and spawn points are annoying but the whole thing about too many snipers isn't ally MoHs fault, its the noobs who play the game just to camp, exactly like you see on COD all the time, but imo it was fun and more realistic than Black Ops, and even on hard mode/Tier 1 is was fun whereas BO was a chore on veteran

I am shocked!:) by the look of most of the previous posts, other people besides me actually liked medal of honor's reboot. it seems like most other places people cant stand the newest Medal of Honor. I actually thought the new Medal of Honor was just as good as my other favorite franchise's most recent entry: Call of Duty:Black Ops. I pre-ordered Medal of Honor early and did not regret in the slightest my 60 dollar expenditure. think about it, you get a yes, short, but very fun campaign, great and addicting multiplayer, and on top of all that the ps3 version comes with Medal of Honor:Frontline remastered, plus, with the execption of the hard playthrough trophy on Medal of Honor:Frontline, 2 very fun and easy platinums.

Also I am one of those fans who have stuck with them throughout

I loved the first Medal of Honors on PS1. Airbone was alright. This one sucked in my opinion. The MP was so laggy. The story mode was good though. I couldnt even get myself to play the multiplayer and platinum this game. Just went back to Bad Company 2 and Modern Warfare 2. I hope the next one is better. I am getting it either way, since I am a fan of MoH since the PS1 days.

The single player on this game was incredible. The multiplayer was a bland CoD rip off, which was disappointing coming from DICE. I hope Danger Close attempts the multiplayer on their own and makes it more original.

"the relative commercial success of the last game"

Key word in that sentence: relative.
Relative in that used game shops were flooded with returned copies of the game two weeks after release.

It was average at best. Sure, the shooting was solid, but it had VERY few moments, it all just smacked so obviously of "Cod rip-off". Bear in mind I prefer the Battlefield games to the recent entries in the Call of Duty series.

Make it more original, Danger Close. Don't try and make a Cod-killer, because you will fail miserably like the first attempt. Make something unique, interesting and fun to play. You don't need to try and steal some of the Cod market to achieve sucess, just give them something different to play that what they've been playing for the past 4 years and they'll buy your

How are people saying this is a rip off of COD, its nothing like them, its a smaller version of BC2 if anything...and the good aspects of the game seem to have been overshadowed by the bad points, i really liked the score chain system in MP, but admittedly this probably didn't help with the sniper issue...and the Tier 1 campaign doesn't get enough credit Imo cos it remained fun to play whilst giving me a challenge, whereas most other shooters lose their enjoyment when you try it on hard cos they make it harder only by adding in more prawns and making the AI super soldiers, which isn't fun to play eg veteran Black Ops!

as long as dice is put no where near this game, dice and its battlefield game are terrible. Online was so bad in the first game. Maps were the worst i have ever seen. And the controls were just plain out bad.

Hope danger close can clean up the graphics(they were ugly) and make it smoother and cleaner. rental at best.

The reboot was fun, but need a lot of work. I loved the story, but it was over just as I was getting into it. Danger Close has listened to us, I have faith that the sequel will successfully build on the first one, kind of like the Assassin's Creed franchise.

Very much hated the Medal of Honor 2010. I mean WHAT THE FUCK?! I wanted to rip the hair off and grow them back so I could rip em off again and so on. Fucking EA servers made me play shitty Tier mode over and over again because the serers crashed at the end of the level *TrollfacealaUltimatefuckyou* + simply the game was shit. Then I went to play Frontline and enjoyed it alot...

the singleplayer was ok just ok nothing worth talking about. the multiplayer was very laggy and it just felt like 2 me that MoH didnt know what it wanted to be and that was its biggest let down. It was a mix of CoD and Battlefield that didnt work and was no fun to play at all. i will stick with Battlefield 3 and will not buy this unless i hear it really improves. EA has the fanbase for it now so they better make sure its a game worthy of selling 5 million copies.

And yeah, i don't think the online trophies help with the whole online issues, esp as everyone would have used sniper and camped to get the fire controller one...though i don't know what percentage of online players go for the trophies

Regardless of the mixed reviews this got I'm pretty excited. It's not as good as Battlefield 3 but MoH wasn't a bad game. It just wasn't all that great. I'm hoping they improve on the flaws and that this one will be amazing.

@9 Exactly, If theres not hundreds of people using the sniper then theres people using the over powered piece of shit that gets you kill for doing fuck all.

Personally I liked the latest one, So what if the story was short? It was a hell of a lot better than any CoD piece of shit.

I didn't think the story was short at all, when your playing a game in which your constantly on edge rather than waiting for the end of the level you know you've hit a good game. And I will be very much looking forward to this one as well.

As stated in previous posts, I am hoping they work on the campaign story a bit more. It justs needs to be a bit longer, the actual story was amazing. Hopefully they work on better spawn points in the MP, that was the only drawback for the online in my opinion. I may choose this over the next COD, depending on when it comes out. I just picked up BC2 yesterday and want to give that a shot

I have every single Medal of Honor game made for PS, and I'm looking forward to a new addition. That said, I just recently started playing the latest installment, and am loving every step of the way, but still, the Campaigns have been way to short in the latest games, hope this one gets a fix on that.

Oh no not ANOTHER game from Danger Close (noob studio). I'm sorry to say it, but MOH was a fail IMO. It just wasn't good enough and tried to take on the COD series (not smart). I only hope they can learn a great deal from all the flaws of their first title, otherwise let DICE make it (they know what they're doing).

MoH 2010 was a total disappointment compared to CoD: Black Ops... I don't know what the devs "learned" but unless they literally copy CoD I doubt this will be anything special. Then again.. if they copy if too much.. lawsuits hehehehehehe

Please keep the Taliban in this one so we can shoot them. I thought the reboot was solid except for its inability to call a spade a spade. Name the enemy please. Don't assign a generic acronym to this enemy. It doesn't work for me. Nothing politically correct has ever succeeded in the USA because we're smarter than that.

OH MY GOD THE HATE!

I think this is great news.
I just bought MOH for the Ps3 having already played it on the xbox and second time around i absolutely loved it.
The story is short, definitely. But it was great. i really felt part of it and loved every second I was playing.

True, the MP wasn't the best, but it certainly wasn't the worst. It's pretty fun.

The COD fanboys that can think of nothing better to say than "It wanted to be cod and failed lmao" can keep their business with acti and let the rest of us enjoy the games that obviously have a little heart put into them

@56

If you want it then don't let other people's opinions get in the way, persernally I think games reviewers should state outright what kind of people will like and hate the game.

Becasue sometimes if you like a certain game then even the worst games will seem enjoyable to you. I'd say the campaign is enjoyable if not a little weak and short but no less short then the COD campaign (so if you enjoy COD you'll enjoy this).

It dosen't do much for innovation but if you enjoy that stuff then go for it as for the multiplayer, I haven't played it long enough to talk about it but it sounds good.

In conclusion stop comparing this to COD. Their both basically the same game with same minor details changed. The only new war game I see coming out is Homefront.

@62 That would be hard...MOH's (2010) campaign was awesome, it was just short and just had some (very) minor issues. I'm excited for MOH 2, but I hope they start from scratch on the multiplayer and do something more original...sorry DICE but your Battlefield games are way better and thats what DICE keep doing and stay away from MOH.. Danger Close should try doing the multiplayer (maybe they already are...does anyone know?).

I very much enjoyed this game, and it was worth every penny. It is ten times better then Call of Duty and had always been my favorite series. I loved the remastered version of Frontline's. I thought it really completed the game. I would very much hope that Rising Sun is being remastered because it was also an amazing game and having trophies would just make it better.
