A Trio of Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon Videos Crawl Onto the Web

Earth Defense Force is set to return this spring for more insect-squishing mayhem for EDF: Insect Armageddon, as the city of New Detroit is under threat from a gigantic insectoid menace. It's time to get the insecticide out and swat some bugs!

Arachnophobes might want to look away now, as this new series of short trailers shows spiders the size of skyscrapers scuttling through the city, dropping smaller spiders onto the streets. We say small... they're still bloody massive by conventional standards.

While the first trailer is a brief teaser, the second shows some of the game's split-screen co-op in action, while the third showcases the lovely Pesticide Gun in all its devastating glory. Insect Armageddon will also support 3-player co-op and a 6-player survival mode over the PlayStation Network, meaning there's plenty of ways to bust bugs with friends.

With over 300 weapons and upgradeable armour sets with jetpacks, Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon looks set to deliver plenty of bug squishing thrills when it releases in spring 2011.
