SEGA Announces a Fifth Game From Platinum

SEGA's Executive VP of Sales & Marketing, Alan Pritchard has confirmed in an interview with Game Informer (the same one in which Pritchard confirmed a Dreamcast Collection is on the cards) that Platinum Games will be working with SEGA once again following the end of their four game deal with the release of Vanquish in the latter part of October.

Platinum Games had previously expressed interest in renewing its partnership with SEGA, with the developer's Executive Producer, Atsushi Inaba proclaiming back in October that "we are in talks with SEGA now, but there's nothing concrete we can say about it at the moment."

Well, it looks as though those talks went well, as SEGA and Platinum are working together again. "We have a further title to announce from Platinum Games as well," Pritchard teased in the recent Game Informer interview. Whether it's an entirely new IP or a sequel to either Bayonetta or Vanquish is up for speculation, so go ahead people! Speculate away!

Hopefully it is a new game. Bayonetta was... OK...?! I haven't played Vanquish yet, but I heard good things about it.

Didn't care for bayonetta too much a little too...feminine? Vanquish was a pretty good adrenaline rush so I could go for a sequel.

Both were fantastic, but I am much less interested in sequels as I am in a new IP.

These guys are really on the ball. Pretty awesome how fast they work and the quality of the end result.. Bayonetta was amazing, and easily is one of my favorite games.. but after Vanquish, I won't be instantly buying games from them just because it's a Platinum game. Vanq was too mediocre.

I know they were really hyped about doing a sequel to Bayonetta. I haven't played Vanquish yet but that would be amazing as well. Anything from Platinum Games is great imo.

This is my number one most hated dev currently. They create exactly the kind of stuff I can't stand. Over the top- sci fi crap.

I would LOVE a sequel to Bayonetta, although I can't really see what they would do for it. Pretty much everything was resolved by the end =/

I tried Bayonetta on the demo, didnt like it, I'd rather have a good game to play and not digital porn, thought the whole concept of the game was stupid, my opinion.

I think alot of people claim the game is silly or pass it off as perverted because they are offended by the sexual content. I think people need to drop the idea that video games should be censored for younger audiences and realise that video game media is catching up to the likes of film and television. There will always be a portion of the gaming demograph that is under 18 years old and there will always be games to suit those people, just accept that more and more there are games that are suited to older gamers and some of that market will demand more adult content (and by that I don't mean pornography, I mean mature content). Bayonetta is a niche game that caters to an adult demograph that can handle more than a bit of sexual reference. Hey it's not like there is nudity or sex scenes in this game.....*cough*MassEffect*cough*
