Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Confirmed For 2011

Bethesda's Todd Howard has just taken to the stage at this year's VGAs to confirm that Elder Scrolls V is indeed on the way and is a direct sequel to Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion as speculated.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim as it's been tagged, will take the story to the realm of Skyrim (obviously), picking up where Elder Scrolls IV left off.

So, finally we can all get excited for the next in Bethesda's massive fantasy series. Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is due for release on November 11th, 2011.  11/11/11? Ooh... eleven-y.

It's been a while... To be honest, I'm not too excited, but I know a lot of people who will be. I'm sure I'll play it at some point though.

@#8 yes they should definiltey realease a trophy and dlc patch for the ps3 version to commemorate this beautifull day

@8...Honestly, I wouldn't want a trophy patch for Oblivion. They would most likely be identical to the achievements. Speaking as someone that as all of the Oblivion achievements, they were boring as hell. There was no creativity to them. Complete the story and complete the guild quests. That was it.

#12 the DLC achievements were especially boring to me since I forgot to save the game at that part where you choose to a be the duke or duchess.

These are only really awesome when played on a PC with console commands.

Fallout 3 just felt boring on the PS3.

That's what happens when I get excited. Eldor Scrolls IV: Oblivion was my favourite game ever so can't wait for the sequel :p

These allways did have an awesome soundtrack.
Who was that voiceover? Hope they don't go down the same route as Oblivion and Fallout, by hiring the Hollywood A-listers and then killing them off an hour into the story.

@16 Bethseda never made Fallout New Vegas, they only made Fallout 3, which to me, was better then New Vegas.
Obisidian made New Vegas.
Anyways, this will be pretty sweet. But its almost a year away, I am probably gonna forget about it soon.
