| Nice. As lame as this sounds maybe it having trophies will motivate me to finally getting around to playing through the whole thing. I only got through the first couple hours when it came out and haven't had the motivation to play such a long game since. |

The Devil May Cry 4 Greatest Hits Box also came with trophies written in the back and there arent any trophies in the game.
This is just miss information, since every game on the PS3 from now on must have trophies, whomever prints the back and front covers always add that information, regardless of wether or not the original game had trophies.
I wish MGS4 had a trophy update, but this isnt how its getting announced. |

| omg yes yes and more yes ive dominated that game so many times. and as for yall who say the game was long are crazy for my first run through took me a bit less than 20 hours(i think that just game play figure cut scenes added 5 hours) 2nd run through boss extreme mode took me a lil over 10. ive been a fan of the series since metal gear on the nes and have been nothing but blown away since mgs. those who didnt finish it, FINISH IT it will blow your mind. kojima is a genius idk if he wrote a long story from the get go or he pulled it all out of his behind but mgs4 ties everything together. also hope getting the big boss ranking is not a trophy otherwise im screwed. |

Lord, this rumor is getting annoying everytime I hear "MGS" and "trophies" together. If this game actually get trophies
(by patch), I'll be trading this game in. The game's more enjoyable without trophies, even if the cutscenes tend to put me to sleep. |

Yeah - I remember this coming up on one of the main boards, and someone said that greatest hits have trophies as part of their general packaging.
I would like a reason to play this game. Unlike others, I wasn't a big fan, but I still kept the game for some reason. This would give me incentive to actually give it another go. |

Way too late and unnecessary really, this game was fun and had its day and now i think if true this is just an attempt to keep a cashflow up against alot of newer more enjoyable games out or coming out on the market these days, knowing ppl will sell out for trophies especially if they only include them on this newer edition of the game and not via patch, which i dont think many ppl would want another one of those this install file is like 7-8GB already!
Plus, I can only imagine how bad the list might be if it included alot of the mgo title crap in it, doubt they've done anthing about the glitchers and cheaters since i last played, konami basically wants you to play with a camera @ all times if your ever gonna convince them this dude/chick is warping around the map invincible with unlimite |

But the thing is i remember reading an interview with kojima saying no to trophies on mgs4 back in late 08 early 09 something about moving forward not looking back yata-yata-blah-blah...
At this point though i could care less if they do or dont do it cuz id just rather play the new mg-rising game thats coming out than this for the twenty some oddith time.

We had pretty much determined that this was false last week on the forum. I pointed out that the Greatest Hits version of MGS4 has been out since I think it was June of LAST YEAR. And olsen pointed out (as he did again here in comment #58) another game also has the same misprint when they went from the old style of boxart to the new style of boxart, and that game doesn't have trophies despite it being on the back of the box either.
This was just someone at the box art printer making the mistake of not removing "Trophies" from the template they use for these things. The game in that box has the same number of trophies as the game in my regular version box: zero. |

This would make me finally play through it again. I hope their not hard though. Knowing metal gear and all of its timed ranks at the end of the games, the trophies may be easily guessed. I hate timed crap though and I wouldnt bother getting those if so. |

| This discussion happened a while back in the Games section of the forum, pics taken and all. While I dont think there are trophies yet, I reckon with the trend of re-releasing HD upgrades of games, theres no reason they wouldnt give MGS the same treatment. They could give PS gamers the Twin Snakes upgrade of MGS1 that was on the Gamecube, trophies for all three and then a patch for MGS4 to complete the package... this'll probably happen around the release time of Raiden... at least, it would if I had my way :D |

| I not getting my hopes up... mainly because whenever a "Greatest Hits" like this comes out they lack trophy support even though it says it in the back cover... Perfect Example - COD4 Modern Warfare "Greatest Hits" clearly states on the back cover that there is trophies but when I loaded the game....NO TROPHIES... I was highly disappointed and pissed that its says trophy support but not trophy patch was installed :( So yea hopefully the developer really does put trophies for this game. |

| This is the greatest game ever! If it took two years to do this then I dont think they should. it will ruin the experience for a lot of people |

Thank you for reporting this issue. The listing of Trophies in the Greatest Hits edition of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is a printing error that we are aware off. We are working with Sony to correct this error.
Unfortunately, at this time there are no plans to patch trophy support into this game.

| I'm not sure what it takes to add trophies to a previously released game, but it seems like they are throwing money away by not adding trophies. I still might not have replayed it tho. |

| Grrrr!!!! At the update. Sure it would of boosted more sales if they put trophies in the game. I've had MGS4 since day 1 and never played it since liking trophies. Looks like i'm not playing MGS4 again |

Yes this is probably the case...but let's hope it's not here. DMC4 and MGS4 are two of the top games that need to get a patch in my opinion.
Still waiting for a "Substance" edition of MGS4 (that of course also has trophies), losing hope for that though... |

There are no trophies because this game was being developed since 2003-2004 with the first public announcement in 2005. This is long before trophies were introduced to PS3.
