Capcom has confirmed that the Dead Rising series has exceeded the four million unit mark with Dead Rising 2 shipping over 2 million copies globally following its release at the end of September, which just goes to show that the enduring appeal of slaughtering zombies is as powerful as ever.

What's more, Capcom's acquisition of Dead Rising 2 developer Blue Castle Games announced at TGS 2010 has finally been ratified by the Canadian authorities, meaning that the developer shall now be a wholly owned Capcom subsidiary operating under the new name of Capcom Game Studio Vancouver.

So, there you go.

So the 4 million mark is for both Dead Rising, and Dead Rising 2 together? I didn't realize DR2 did that well to sell 2 million copies. I rented it for 1 day and played it for less then an hour before moving onto something else. To each his own :P

maybe they'll make chuck greene a playable/dlc download character for marvel vs. capcom! Dead rising 2 itself has had to be one of my favorite plats.

That would be sweet if they would port the 1st one over to blueray. I heard it was MUCH harder. I loved DR2 but it was Sooooo easy, especially with the ninja and sport preorders...

Sweet! Good to know that I'm not the only sadistic MF playing these games. Good way to just relieve stress is to just kill things sometimes... like students do at our High Schools at times..... or maybe those students should just buy this game...thus, saving lives. What I'm trying to say people is video games save lives! So just know that you're saving lives when you get your friends to buy video games as well as saving your own. This was brought to you by the number 4 and the letter OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
