Final Fantasy XIII DLC Not On The Cards After All

Just when we were getting excited about the prospect of Final Fantasy XIII downloadable content, the game's producer and director, Yoshinori Kitase and Motomu Toriyama have gone and squashed any hope of supplemental material making its way into the game.

"Regarding the DLC content, we feel that the final product is 100% enjoyable… it's the complete package. So we’re not planning any DLC at this time" the duo told the US PlayStation Blog.

And you can forget about ever playing that rumoured cut content too. There are no plans to offer any such material and apparently never were.

"In regard to the rumoured cut content, we feel it was taken out of context," said Kitase and Toriyama. "There are a lot of ideas that are brought to the table, and then the team takes the best ideas out of those, and the final product is polished that way. There was content that were 'ideas' that didn't make the final content, but the team isn't looking to release that as downloadable content."

So, that's that ladies and gentlemen.

Final Fantasy XIII is slated for a March 9th launch.

	:( good to see a company who delivers a 100% game tho, not like other games where you have to buy chapters which could've been on disc (AC2 anyone)..

	I still wish there was some of that cut content and think the 3 disc DVD limitation had something to do with it. @magmar126 The DLC for ACII was a good choice. If they had it in the game, it would have messed up the pacing, as the cut content has nothing to do with the overall plot, and wasn't overpriced. Its just there for fans who enjoyed ACII and want more. Then again, this comes from a person who says Ubisoft, along with a few other companies, are doing DLC right this gen.

	oh well anyone buying this game cant be upset just because theirs no dlc. Just having the game in our systems will be enough

	In all honesty, i'm happy about this news. One thing I hate is spending even more money on little extra additions!

	The head guy developing the game has already said there will be DLC. I don't believe anyone else who says there won't be.

	Oh well that doesn't bother me at all. I don't care if there is going to be DLC or not. I will still enjoy the game no matter what.

	@13 lol Final Fantasy games are massive.. in a world where we can finish and in some cases plat a game in a week, FFXIII will be a breath of fresh air.. a game that we can really get a lot of value out of.. it wont need DLC, it will be plenty long enough.

	Ugh...Can you not be satisfied with the final product? I'm sick of having to purchase more and more content over and over again for the sake of trophies...Sheesh, it's like you're asking to have your money stolen.
