Sonic 4: Episode 1 Launch Trailer Speeds In

Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1

It's taken sixteen years, but it's finally here. The first, proper, numbered sequel to Sonic the Hedgehog is now available on the PlayStation Store and so SEGA has released a launch trailer made up of loads of little clips from the game's various stages.

We have to say, it all looks very familiar, leaving us suspecting that Sonic 4: Episode 1 might be less a sequel, more a 2.5D remixing of some of the little blue one's finest moments. Take a look and you'll see what we mean, as there's clearly bits from Sonic 1's Green Hill Zone and Labyrinth, and the very same Robotnik boss in the game's Casino Streets level as the one from Sonic 2's Casino Nights Zone.

Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 is available now from the PlayStation Store for £9.99/€12.99/$14.99.

	I wish they would have just released the damn thing in its entirety. Never really been a fan of episodic releases, you get engrossed in a game only to have to stop and wait a month to play the next level. I think I'll wait and see if there is some reasonably priced bundle after all episodes are released.

	#2 i agree with you I dont like thats an episode either, so ill wait for all in a budlle or with some kind of discount.

	Even though I don't like the episodic thing, the game is amazing! I love it!

	Sonic the Hedgehog (the original, on the Genesis) was the first game I ever played. Which led to a lifetime of gaming. So to hell with it. I'm not waiting for a damn thing. I'll buy each installment at $15. I don't give a damn!
