Next week is set to be a very special one for Rock Band, as the number of songs available for the game reaches a staggering 2000 courtesy of Jimi Hendrix Experience song "Are You Experienced?"

This is just part of a special Rock Band edition album download planned as next week's RB DLC, which will be a mixture of live and studio tracks from the Jimi Hendrix Experience's debut album, 'Are You Experienced?' So, just in case you didn't get that, the 2000th Rock Band song will be "Are You Experienced?" from the album 'Are You Experienced?' Got it? Good.

Rock Band now not only has a catalogue of 2000 songs to choose from then, but also more than 800 different artists lending their music to the game, which will all port across to Rock Band 3 when it's released at the end of the month. That's a lot of music. Has anyone bought all 2000?

We'll have the full track listing and details for the Jimi Hendrix Experience DLC, like prices and stuff with the regular Rock Band update on Friday. The 'Are You Experienced?' DLC will be available from October 12th.

Sad part is that I have about 800 songs on my Xbox version and some from the RBN.

While the 2000 song count only applies to XBox because of RBN, it is quite a milestone. Will most definitely be picking this up along with the other two JH records that will hopefully be released asap.

Look at it this way, £0.99 for every song, thats £1980! Thats a ton-load - unreal amount for DLC! But what can I say, Rock Band in no way, shape or form over charge for DLC like someone *Cough* *Guitar Hero* *Cough*! I'm just glad that people buy Rock Band and not POOP *Cough* *Guitar Hero* *Cough*! :D

@#6: You're in luck, since "Foxy Lady" is from that album.

Regardless, as much as I love Jimi, this whole Rock Band download thing has gotten too rich for my blood.
