Dragon Age: Origins

BioWare: Dragon Age & Mass Effect 2 DLC Sales "Exceeded Our Expectations"

BioWare have always said, and excuse me while I paraphrase here, but "If our fans buy our DLC and support us, we'll keep on delivering it."

While talking about DLC sales transparency at Gamescom recently, Ray Muzyka, BioWare CEO, told PS3T that the support has been "outstanding" for the DLC thus far, allowing them to plough more cash into building more content.

"We know how it sells," chuckled Muzyka, "We’re really, really happy with it actually. Dragon Age has been outstanding, it’s exceeded our expectations; so has Mass Effect 2."

"So the fans have been incredibly supportive and that allows us to invest more back for them," he continued, "Building more content, making sure it’s really awesome, and try and sustain it post-launch. That’s one of our goals in all of our franchises."

With more DLC for Dragon Age: Origins coming out on September 7th, it seems as if BioWare are keen to continue this post release tradition with all their franchises.

Despite Witch Hunt being hailed as the last piece of Dragon Age: Origins DLC on the official website, BioWare even hinted that the support for Dragon Age may go on for even longer.

To get the full inside scoop from the doctors, check back on Wednesday afternoon, where we talk Mass Effect, Dragon Age and more.

It would be great to see some more DA:O DLC, lots they could do, some more warden stuff, dlc for the party members, ect. Having one about Stens mission, or at least how he got it or up to when he lost his party could easily be one.

What a very political response considering ME2 undersold by over 2 million units. They shipped around 5 million at launch and they still haven't reached 2 million units sold. It hasn't even passed ME1. So I'm sure they're happy. Oh yeah there is that PS3 thing . . .

@6...An episode about the Qurani in general would be fantastic. After talking to Sten and reading the codices, they sound incredibly interesting.

Well i am happy to hear that cause i buy their DLC and enjoy instead of 15$ map pack ( we dont say names but there is only one map pack with this money)
Also i believe that bioware and gearbox are making the best DLC

@olsen77, I'm pretty sure we'll get all of the Qunari we can shake a stick at in Dragon Age 2. That horned guy Hawke was fighting in the Destiny trailer is Qunari and Flemeth's new host body looked Qunari as well.

It's all about the DLC's :(, how about releasing a better patch to fix all the problems that still is in the game first?

I do not think, even with all the support, that DA:O will get anymore real DLC after Witch Hunt gets released. They might include some weapon packs and gift packs like that stuff they did around April, but they will probably focuse on DA2 and the DLC that they are planning for it.

@ #13: Wait till the game is a year old, then they'll do it (like everybody else).
@ #6: Some backstory on Sten would be pretty interesting.
