EA has announced that SAS hero turned best-selling author, Chris Ryan is spilling ink on a Medal of Honor prequel novella, using the game's missions as reference. Ryan is more than qualified having been part of an eight-man team that escaped from Iraq during the Gulf War in the infamous Bravo Two Zero mission - the longest escape and evasion in the history of the SAS. "It is a real privilege to be involved in a game with such a heritage as Medal of Honor. Combining my experience as an SAS soldier in the Gulf War with missions from the videogame itself enabled me to create an authentic and respectful account of an elite soldier fighting in Afghanistan for Medal of Honor: The Book," said Ryan, whose best-selling novels include 'The One That Got Away' and 'Strike Back'. "Bringing together the disciplines of literature and videogames has been a new but compelling experience for me as a writer, resulting in what is hopefully an engaging read for fans of videogames and novels alike." Medal of Honor: The Book will be available free with pre-orders from HMV, where the book will also exclusively launch online and nationwide in the UK. Medal of Honor is out on October 15th, 2010. | |
