Call of Duty: Black Ops' Zombie Maps Confirmed

With the Hardened and Prestige Editions of Call of Duty: Black Ops being announced yesterday, you will have noticed that both come packaged with a card entitling you to redeem four co-op maps. What you may not know is that said maps are in fact updated versions of those featured in World at War's 'Nazi Zombies' mode.

Presumably, you won't be shooting undead Nazis this time round through, but news that the popular bonus mode is returning in some form - whatever that might be - is very welcome indeed.

BestBuy is listing the maps as 'Zombie maps' and we received a tip yesterday that GameStop received promo material referring to the extra maps as Zombie maps too (Thanks, Jesse).

We'll take that as confirmation then. However, whether the Zombie mode will be in the game as standard, is unknown. Whatever the case, we'd expect to see these maps make their way to the PlayStation Store at some point in the future following the game's launch.

Take another look at the Hardened and Prestige Editions below. CoD: Black Ops is due for release on November 9th, 2010.

YESSSS, Zombies are back (hopefully). Good thing that they didn't copy IW and their boring spec-ops mode (that wasn't even supported with new maps).

I know a lot of people who where looking forward to zombies, but Treyarch was being tight-lipped on the whole thing. They will be glad to know that this pretty much confirms a zombie mode.

If the exclusive co-op maps are really `exclusive` then you`ll struggle to get an online game with them if only a small percentae of game buyers bought Hardened or Prestige editions. They`ll be on PS Store within couple months.

Oh well at first thought that game was a NON-must since mw2 really dissapointed me... but now.. zombies I think its now a must buy.. and an other platinum 4 sure damn so much game to get DR2 F-NV then Cod BO.. life is hard

lame i under stand zombies in WaW because Hitler actually tried makin zombies cause he was affraid he was going to lose the war.... but zomnbies in here just doesnt make sence. i might still get the hardend edition

There going to completely remake the maps for Black Ops, and it would not make sense if they were nazi zombies would it? So we know for a fact that it seems zombies will return but the game is not set in WW2, so we might see different kinds of zombies...

I am probably just getting the normal edition, unless my brother pitches in to get the prestige. I hope that these maps come on PS Store after.
I hope they dont just add this to the game and call it the new zombies mode. I am expecting some new zombies, and some new zombie modes never seen before. If they have all of that, then this game will be awesome.

blacks ops = highly anticipated. im not to big on the zombies never went crazy for it.

@alberick Yeah I would much rather have generades at war than a MUCH better game made by IW. btw specical ops is much better than nazi zombies it just has no replayability and zombies gets boring fast anyways.

viet cong zombies sounds like a WIN for me :) good god if these vietnamese guys are as insane as the japs from WaW then this game is going to be ace :)
