To me this is SEGA screaming "PLEASE BUY OUR REALLY CRAPPY SONIC GAMES!"
You know thier desperate when they have to resort to returning to 2D lmao. I pity SEGA. But I really think its about time that the sonic fanchise when to bed... and I think I would say that goes for mario as well... Developers have to stop following old patterns. MAKE A NEW GAME PEOPLE!

| Its one of their few remaining brands that still sells, the last lot of 3d versions have been terrible, not because 3d sonic is bad, the dreamcast game was ok, classic sonic 3d was fun, but because they were badly made, full of bugs and had rubbish controls to name but a few faults. If they go grass roots, full HD and keep it fun without the gimicks, Im sold. Whilst were on the subject of sega and PSN, how about an episodic shining force hd? hrm? I know your listening sega, do it. |

I'm not going to repeat the entire comment I made on the sister site. I'll just sum it up.
Calling this turd (and it will be a turd, it's developed by SEGA) Sonic 4 is an insult to the Genesis games which were some of the best games around at that time. And episodic releases are shit. Fuck SEGA. |

| brilliant SONIC IS CLASSIC and its about time that they made it go back to its old routes like back in the day. though most of you wouldnt be happy about this new i for one am its not all about HD GAMING. if classics can be made and play on the PS3 then its awesome i just cant wait roll on SONIC 4 |

I'm not a sonic fan, but this decision makes sense. It's nearly impossible for them to screw this up - with just a little effort.
I also still have faith in Sega, they have a few winners here and there to keep them in action. |

Awesome. I totally called it being 2.5D and won a bet to boot, heh. At any rate, there hasn't been a good Sonic game (barring Sonic Unleashed's day levels and the Rush games) in this post-Sonic 3 world, so here's hoping the long overdue Sonic the Hedgehog 4 delivers.
I kind of don't like the fact that its episodic, though... why not just release a nice full Sonic title in one go, instead of milking it? |

I'm cautiously optimistic.
On the one hand, it's Sonic, and he's usually crap these days. On the other hand, it's 2D Sonic, and that's usually good (except for the GBA games, but we don't talk about those in polite company). Episodic release is stupid as hell, so I'll probably just wait until the bundle the whole game together, like with Siren: Blood Curse. |
