EA File Three 'Syndicate' Trademarks

That Bullfrog's classic real-time tactical shooter, Syndicate could be making a comeback courtesy of original publisher EA isn't news, given that the rumour has been kicking around for a while now, with speculation resurfacing in April that Chronicles of Riddick developer Starbreeze may be attached to the project.

Well, now that EA has filed no less than three new trademark registrations, there's every chance that we could be staring down the barrel of an impending announcement for a remake (or 'reimagining', if you prefer) of the 1993 title.

Here's hoping that we hear something regarding a new Syndicate game soon, since XCOM is getting a fresh current-gen update, it would seem like high time we see the return of the strategical shooter franchise.

	Syndicate 1 is one of my all time favourite games so I hope they don't screw his up!

	@4 They prob will lol, I hope they don't either but I prefer games that I loved and enjoyed in the past, to stay in the past.

	I HATE REMAKES! Re-imaginings or games based on older games is ok tho it can aspire for some great retro fun and good memories. The only time to copy an old game is if you are taking it and putting it on the PSN with trophies for 5-10 or something.

	@7 I don't know if I would go that far - they have a lot of potential if they are done correctly. I had a lot of fun with 3D Dot Game Heros :D

	@#4 Completely agree with you, it was an Amiga classic. The PS1 sequel was not so good though :( Hopefully this'll take it's inspiration from the first, do I hear 4 player co-op.

	EA likes easy money and the "make an epic with a pretentious story and choir music for the trailer" route is popular so I'm hoping they don't simply copypaste a third person shooter. I'm not saying keep it isometric. Just don't make it a random epic re-take.

	As long as it's a good remake it will be worth getting, Syndicate was good but Syndicate wars was alot better.
