nail'd Soundtrack Brings the Metal Written Thursday, July 29, 2010 by Richard Walker Fans of Metal music and quad bikes rejoice, as Techland and Deep Silver's off-road racer, nail'd has managed to attract a Metal supergroup for its soundtrack, comprised of Raymond Herrera and Christian Olde Wolbers (Fear Factory, Arkaea), Pat Lachman (Damageplan), Wayne Static (Static X), Jamey Jasta (Hatebreed), Stephen Carpenter (Deftones), Jed Simon (Strapping Young Lad), and John Boecklin (DevilDriver), who have come together in the studio to collaborate on recording an all-Metal soundtrack for the game. The group has composed a number of instrumental tracks for the game as well as three songs dedicated to nail'd - "Count for Something", "Through Walls of Flame" (sung by Jamey Jasta), and "Decimator" (vocals by Wayne Static) - with lyrics written especially for the game. We expect to hear the words 'mud', 'ramps', 'jumps' and 'wheels' in the songs, or we'll be sorely disappointed. In addition to these bespoke tracks, there will also be a number of licensed tunes from Slipknot, Queens of the Stone Age, Backyard Babies, Rise Against, American Sixgun, Aggressive Chill, and Slaves on Dope. That's a hell of a lot of Metal. So much in fact, that we reckon the game disc will be too heavy to lift. nail'd is scheduled for a Q4 2010 release. There's a sample of some of the music in this here trailer. |
