Yoshinori Ono Details Street Fighter X Tekken Written Monday, July 26, 2010 by Richard Walker We got goosebumps when we first heard that Street Fighter and Tekken would be crossing over, our minds racing at the mash ups that'll occur between Capcom and Namco's huge stable of pugilists, and now SFIV producer Yoshinori Ono has teased a few details regarding the Street Fighter X Tekken title being developed by Capcom, via Famitsu.com. Speaking at Comic-Con, Ono-san stated that the game has a target release window of two years following the game's announcement, and will likely come out before Namco's Tekken X Street Fighter, which will presumably adopt the Tekken engine, where Street Fighter X Tekken utilises the Street Fighter IV engine. And if you think this newly forged alliance means Namco and Capcom will be cosying up and sharing, forget it. Development on the two titles is completely separate and the dev team staff has agreed that there will be no sharing of information. In gameplay terms, Ono said that the team is considering 2 on 2 matches, joking that Marvel vs. Capcom 3's 3 v 3 scraps were too much for someone his age. He also confirmed that the six-button, eight-way lever control system will remain intact, but Ono wants to add a component from the iPhone version of SFIV that he referred to as the "assist" feature, which will enable novice players to pull off difficult moves far easier.
