Heads Up: PAX Party and Potential Prizes
Heads Up: PAX Party and Potential Prizes
Written Tuesday, July 27, 2010 by Dan Webb

To say the months of June to September are the busiest of the year for us is a bit of an understatement. Sure, there are no games out and the reviews on the sister site dry up for a good 4 -6 weeks for the most part, but those pesky trade shows add a ridiculous amount of work to the already steep workload.

"Come on Dan, where are you going with this?" Bare with me, I am going somewhere. Somewhere quite awesome...

Every September when the consumer trade show, PAX Prime, rolls around, more than a few of X360A's staff members and community members head out to Seattle to not only enjoy the show, but each other's company as well. And yes, that includes a selection of the local ales too.

This year with both sites still blossoming, we decided to try our hand at hosting a pre-PAX Prime party for the community, at a venue in Seattle called Jillian's, with us buying the beer (note: it's not an endless bar tab, but it's a healthy one *wink wink*).

That's right though, the Official X360A and PS3T pre-PAX party is open for you guys to come and chill out with us for the night. Shoot some pool, have a laugh, have a few drinks, all before the doors open for PAX.

I'd like to apologise for the short notice - this has been in the planning stages for some time now, but it hasn't been concrete for too long - but if it's popular this year, it'll be a yearly occurrence. So if you can't make it, there's always next year.

If you have tickets for PAX Prime already, come along and spend the evening with us. If you don't, there are  still tickets left, so head on over and pick some up. Details can be found here, but beware, three day passes are sold out, although day passes still remain on sale for possibly the next few days before they sell out.

Before I move onto the "prizes" part of the headline, check out the awesome poster that PS3T member, efunk25,  knocked up. I'm sure you'll agree, it's beyond awesome. Nice job Ethan!

And yes, that logo in the top right corner is potentially the new PS3T logo. I said potentially!

Last, but by no means least, our sister site is running an incredible giveaway for PAL regions that includes 2 Modern Warfare Limited Edition Xbox 360s and a whole host of games for the 2 lucky winners.

If you haven't got an Xbox 360 and want one to stand next to your PS3, that, and you're in a PAL region, then simply head over, read the rules and sign-up. It's as simple as that.

Check out the Microsoft Mega Extravaganza Super PAL Console Giveaway news post here for details.

That's it for now. Good luck in the competition if you enter, and we hope to see you in Seattle in 36 days.

No potentially! That logo is awesome and you will use it or be prepared to suffer a bucket of mud comically placed on your door! (Have I been playing too much Monkey Island 2?)

Anyway nice one efunk! As for the thing, didn't have plans to go to PAX so this is out for me. But have some drinks for me guys!

P.S. Old Snake could still kick Master Chief's ass even if he's old.

the moment i finished reading this i turned to my roommate and excitedly exclaimed "WE'RE GOING TO THIS EH!" (we're up in Canada...) and then promptly went to the PAX website to buy some tickets. The 3-day tickets are all sold out so we'll be there next year!

@2...Webb mentioned that the 3 day passes are sold out. There should still be single day ones though. Even if you get to only one day, you're still in Seattle for a few. There's plenty to do and see there. :P

@#2 - You can still get day passes, and to be honest, if it's anything like last year, you can easily see most of the show in two days, one if you go mental =P

(Sorry about the double post my pc froze up for a second)
That's awesome. I wouldn't mind going to meet the people behind this site and have a few drinks with them. Hey its also a great chance to meet some of the gamers on this site as well.

We should potentially have a vote for the new PS3T logo :p

This sounds like it could be a blast, but im in the UK and have no intention of going to this in the US. Espeically as I have only heard of PAX for the last week :p

Hope the guys have a great time that do go ;)

P.S. BTW the giveaway is very cool & that is a consol-e-ation for living in a PAL region :D

Even if I do reside in the U.S.,and am disappointed at not getting a chance to win a free RRoD, I'm happy to see the folks across the pond get a shot at exclusive swag. Best of luck to all:)

Uhhhh, why Snake represents a trophy website, considering MGS4 doesn't have trophies? FAIL xD

Just kidding. Anyway, too far from Europe.

I LOVE the poster for the event but I def agree that "Snake" is an odd choice given the whole "MGS Trophy situation". Nice to see events like this, too bad it's not closer to Miami, lol. Good work Admins, this site has really come a long way, you deserve to celebrate.

what i saw from the poster that efunk25 posted is the representation of the most well-known console mascots, slightly more general than trophy/achievement kings.

I would have asked for Kratos instead of Snake, but Snake is an icon. It's totally understandable why he's the PS3 representative.

@19 Good point. But like #25 stated, I wanted to represent the main faces of each console in the poster. And as far as the PS3T Logo. If indeed it is concidered for the site I will do more work on it to make it more of a finished product. Thanks for all the props!

I miss Seattle! Used to live on Capital Hill back in 2000 (heart o' Seattle).... Good luck, for all trying for the prize!
