| Never played a Killzone game before. If I were to start, which one should I play first? | ||

| hmm i'll take a punt and say Killzone 1 then 2 then 3 :) Bear in mind Killzone 1 is a HD remaster and only avaialble either in that special trilogy retail set or as a download from PSN. I'll be downloading it as already played Killzone 2 and have KZ3 on my ever expanded pile of 50+ unplayed sealed games :) | ||

| @1 id say start of with 2 as i honestly thought it was great plus i have fond memories of the multiplayer *as its very very cheap and im pretty sure a lot of people started there too*. My only complaint about 1 is it was the ps2 era so graphics may not be entising enough plus it may feel prehistoric like most HD remasters. Yet seeing as i havent played 1 dont just take my word, im just assuming :) | ||

| @4 Why would you ever start with the second game in a trilogy? The first has it's issues but it's still the first and now that we're getting access to it on the PS3 it should be the first you play! | ||

| @1 uhhh, start with the first one? do you ask similar questions about movies with sequels? | ||
| Forum Posts: 21896 | Comment #7 by mjc0961 Thursday, October 11, 2012 @ 03:59:55 AM | |
| @1: Because Killzone 1 sucks balls and doesn't play anything like the far superior 2 and 3? Yeah, that's why you'd start with the second game in a series (not a trilogy as there are currently 4 games and a 5th on the way for Vita). Killzone is crap and does not magically become worth playing just because it came out first. My suggestion to anyone asking what #1 asked is to look up the plot of Killzone and Killzone Liberation to catch up and then start with playing Killzone 2 because it's the first one that doesn't suck all the dicks in the universe. | ||

| @5 because 2 worked great at introducing us to the franchise and not many people would of played 1 to begin with. And like a lot of people if @1 played 2 and possibly 3, then he may be excited to play 1*like he may play it for the sake of being a fan incase its not as great as 2 or 3*. Plus 1 was made for ps2, and 2 was made for ps3 so its like resident evil 3 compared to 4, as with 4 they have better visuals and have better technology to work with *plus a lot of people were introduced at 4 because it was such a good ps2 game*. So 1 might not be as engaging having last gen console support, you see :p | ||

| The first Killzone was OK, but the control scheme was horrendous, if they had any sense, they would have changed it specifically for this release...It would at least be playable then. | ||

| @15 yea a bit mental ain't it? But I don't buy games at release I wait till most are £15-£20 yet i'm still backlogged to hell. I just can't stop buying once I get those eails saying your watched item has now dropped to your specified price.. :) | ||

| @1: I'd say just play #3. People are talking about how it's a trilogy and all that, but the story is complete shite and not really worth going out of your way for. The multiplayer community is much more active in #3, and it plays a lot better than the other two. Also, avoid the PSP Killzone game at all costs. | ||

| @18 Liberation is actually a very good Killzone game. It got better reviews then the first one too, not that it means anything, but anyway. Killzone 2 is still pretty active online and also the best in the series in my personal opinion. I think the story is awesome and who doesnt like to listen the Helghast :D thats one of the strong points of Killzone 3 because you get to hear their dialogue alot. Not much points for the actual game tho. | ||

| @1 Play Killzone first. If you are still interested afterward, play Liberation, KZ2, and KZ3 in that order. @18 Liberation is a really good game. | ||

| @23 I duno man. Ive tried getting into liberation so many times but I just couldn't do it. It actually kind of annoys me because it will be the only game in the series I havent passed. | ||

| @19 Actually I so want ps4 :) (but it probably won;t be backwards compatible so i'll keep my ps3 ofc). However as soon as Sony announce it i'll be immediately stopping ps3 buys apart from LAst of Us/Beyond (unless they are also ps4 :) ) | ||

| @24 Anything in particular that you don't like about Liberation? I know some people won't like it because of the overhead view. | ||

| killzone 1 kicked ass; the controls were admittedly clunky, although you could get used to them. I agree though; I would like to see this game with the handling of KZ3. Start with the first one, in my opinion. | ||

| @30...Assume that they will remain unchanged. If you already own both and want KZ1, then just buy the downloadable version instead of the trilogy. | ||

| Killzone was a good game for it's time hopefully they've updated the controls which i would not be surprised if they have, if Killzone was that bad like some suggest there would be no Killzone 2&3. | ||

| @28 I didn't even know the controls were an issue for people. @31 I agree that Killzone 1 kicked ass. | ||

| Looking forward to KZ1. I own KZ2, KZ3 & KZ3MP already so will get the psn version, KZ2 was one of the games that made me get a PS3. Pretty sure you can buy 2nd hand copies of KZ1&2 plus all the DLC from PSN and KZ1 for less than the £39.99 that GAME want for the disc version though! | ||

| @13, you are bumming me out, did they not give options for controls? Oh man, I hated that scheme worse than I hated Metal Gear Solid 2, this might be a pass, lifes too short for those god awful controls, please someone confirm they updated them... | ||

| Killzone on PS2 sucked because we all know the KING of shooters on PS2 is the Socom series. | ||
| Forum Posts: 0 | Comment #44 by Abnor Mal Monday, October 15, 2012 @ 11:02:38 PM | |
| I agree that Socom is the top shooter on ps2, Killzone should not be discounted. The controls are a little clunky but thats about it as far as i can tell. Never played Liberation before and would love to play it as a PSN download. Anyone playing the trilogy for the first time should start with 1 and follow through with 2 and 3. Another poster said that 2 is where everybody started playing at, but thats only if u didnt have a ps2 or were too young to play a game like killzone. Many current gamers are it seems very young and didnt get a chance to play some of the older games. I"ll be getting KZ1 off PSN because i already have 2 and 3. I also have 1 but dont have a ps2 anymore | ||
