Come and Celebrate PS3T's 4th Birthday

As the calender approaches the site's birthday (June 30 for those interested), we started thinking of how to celebrate things. Trophy Awards? Yep, those will be posted that day. Giveaway? Yep, we'll have one of those too. But we do those every year. This year, the 30th falls on a Saturday. The thinking was, "Well, now we have to do some kind of a game night, but what?" Once we realized that we had already had a few older games lined up for a game night month in June and it was the site's fourth birthday, there really was only one choice, Call of Duty 4.

Sooooo....

It is for all intents and purposes, a game night. I teased it a bit with the announcement of the retro game nights, so it does fit into that group. There are some differences though. First, the post count requirement is down to 50. Why? We want as many members there as possible. We're taking over COD4 for a day. Activision and Infinity Ward don't know this yet, but we are. The rest of it is pretty much the same. There will be a sign up thread next week and we'll have groups, hosts, and some groups with DLC as well as starting at the regular game night time.

Oh, and there's a cake in the banner. Yes, we're suggesting there will be cake. But you see, we can't really do cake (the logistics of sending hundreds of people all over the world a piece of cake are kind of ridiculous), so we're doing our best version of it:

Instead of this counting towards the regular game night site award, anyone that attends and plays for the necessary amount of time to qualify for a credit, gets that site award. It's been a while since we've done a special event with a unique site award that multiple people can earn. It's time that we do another.

There you have it, that special event that was hinted at a few weeks ago. You'll have an extra week to pick up a copy of the game (they're cheap now...oh, and there are no trophies, so no 0% to worry about...oh, and there's no online pass either) and plan things out so that you can be available on the 30th. We hope to see as many of you there as possible.

	Oohh too bad that weekend is for the presidential elections in my country, and im off that weekend from home... Altough, is saturday and i can always rent a copy of cod 4...

	Well, as the news said, cod4 should be very cheap by now, and as i said, maybe you coul rent it...??

Point is I'm in. I've only ever heard good things about CoD4 and always wanted to try it, but never found the motivation. Now though, here it is. @2: Ask for a copy for your birthday then, duh. :p

	Guess it's the time to rub some dust. Never got any DLC or GotY edition, so only standarts for me. And I hope there will be some insane Crash Site action.

	after a couple of decent game nights, i was pretty amped to see what would happen for this sites 4th birthday. now i know... to celebrate we'll dedicate a night to yet another call of duty game. REALLY?

	@8...Yes, silly us for wanting to the best Call of Duty game and what become the game of this console generation. For the record, we've done fewer Call of Duty game nights than we have for Uncharted.

	@14...Usually about an hour. Most people play a lot longer than that though. What we don't want is people playing one game and then leaving just for a site award. We want people to play and stick around.

	@15 Hey olsen, I have some what of a shitty internet connection which sometimes means I will be disconnected will it be OK if this happens then I play the next game? but fingers crossed it doesn't go down.

	@16...That's ok. If you get disconnected, just let whoever your host know that you're having connection problems and keep trying. Every group will have a PSN text chat room set up so that, even if you get kicked out of the game for some reason, you can still communicate with the host easily.

	Gonna see if I can get my hands on a copy and pop in for a bit. Never played COD4 so should be interesting. On a side note, anyone find it ironic that to celebrate a milestone, a site dedicated to trophy hunting chooses a game with no trophies?!?! :)

	do not have enough post to join. its okay though.. I'd be like that guy, you know? like THAT GUY. that's right! make people cry tears of true despair! that would drop and engulf the remaining slivers of hope you would have from those four candles. 	I will definatly join! I may not be the best at COD, but I still like the game (My username was because I hated Black Ops, not COD4) and it's a celebration! Who doesn't like celebrations?

	How do I sign up? I would love cod 4 to get more people online playing for fun not for hacking.
