Member of the Month - Dec, 2009: FARAZ_1994

First off, Happy New Year everyone!!!  Thank you to everyone for their stellar contributions in 2009 and we're looking forward to a great 2010.  Enjoy tonight, but stay safe.

Now to the issue at hand, our last Member of the Month for 2009.  At the end of each month, we turn the spotlight on one member and get to know him or her a little better.  After much discussion and many nominees, we reached a decision on who that member will be.  Turns out, this member sets a couple of milestones here.  First, he's the youngest Member of the Month.  Second, he's the first Member of the Month to be doing his interview in his second language.  He's always happy, respectful, pleasant and helpful to every other member he speaks to.  He's one of the few members to participate in every PS3T gaming night (including a challenge to the staff).  The huge list of images he's submitted this month have been invaluable. Ladies and gentlemen, please send your congratulations to our newest Member of the Month...FARAZ_1994

Congrats Faraz!!!  Let's now meet the man behind the name (after he apparently regains consciousness)...

Can you tell us a bit more about the person behind the PSN ID?

*faints*

*regains consciousness after a few min*

Wow, just..WOW. I feel very strange right now.

Like my forum username, my actual name is also Faraz. I am 15-years-old and live in Karachi, Pakistan. I am currently studying for my O' Levels

What sort of setup do you have going back home for your gaming?

My setup is not a very extravagant one like most of you guys, but it's enough for me. I have a 32 inch LG Flat Screen TV hooked up to a Philips sound system. Hopefully by the middle of next year I'll have a new TV. That is IF I get good grades in my exams. Not too sure that's going to happen but I'll try.

How long have you been gaming and what made you decide PlayStation as your gaming companion?

I have been gaming ever since I was 4 years old, which is a little over 11 years. At the time all my friends and cousins used to have PS1s. Asking my parents was going to be tough though, because I knew the answer was going to be "No, it is a waste of time and money". After arguing for God knows how long, my parents agreed. I slowly worked my way up to a PS3. No gaming console can be compared to the playstation. Playstation FTW!!!

What was the last game you bought, and what’s the next one you’re looking forward to?

The last game I purchased was Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which is an amazing game. I've always been a fan of First Person Shooters, so I'm probably going to buy Army of Two: The 40th Day.

If you had the chance to improve the PlayStation and/or PSN store, what 1 thing would you like to see implemented?

Some regions do not have PSN stores. Unfortunately neither does mine. Due to this many people miss out on a lot of enjoyable games and DLC packs etc. So, what I would like to see, is for the PSN store to be available in all countries/regions.

How much of a certified trophy whore are you? Does the trophy list play any part in the decision to play or buy a game, or do you base that decision entirely on the game?

I'm not much of a trophy whore. I only purchase games I either really enjoy playing or I've heard good things about. Trophies do play some part in the decision to purchase a game, but I would never buy a crappy game just for the trophies. If a game that I have purchased does have trophies then I try my best to achieve most, if not all of the trophies in that game. Trophies are just icing on the cake.

What would you say was your proudest trophy and why?

I would have to say my Call of Duty: World at War platinum, which was also my first platinum trophy. The reason? Veteran was extremely difficult. At times the game was frustrating, mostly due to the fact that one grenade out of the 50 billion that they throw at you would always kill me. It is probably my most difficult platinum to date.

If the end of the world was nigh and you had to grab three games/franchises to take with you to play out your final days to, what would they be?

Hmmmmm, let's see.

-Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
-Guitar Hero and
-Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

What are your gaming-related goals for 2010?

-To get 2000+ trophies (doubtful about this one)
-To achieve 80% and above of all the trophies available in my games
-To obtain 30+ platinum trophies

What brought you to PS3T and what keeps you coming back?

I was pretty new to the whole trophy thing so when I bought Call of Duty: World at War and my first trophy popped up I needed to know what that thing that popped up was. I googled it and I saw a link to a trophy guide of the game on this site. I browsed the forums a bit and I decided to join. The thing that keeps me coming back is the great community. It's a nice place to relax and have fun. Lately though, things have gotten much more interesting. Yes Davis-Miller, I am talking about you, you sly devil!

Any final words for the community?

Stay active, post helpfully, but above all, just have fun and enjoy yourself. Keep one thing in mind though....NO SPAMMING
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
