Introduction

Taking place three years after the events of Revenge of the Fallen, humanity believes the Decepticons have fled Earth. However, Optimus Prime knows better and is constantly searching for Megatron and his forces.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon is a movie tie-in to the summer blockbuster directed by Michael Bay, and serves as a prologue to the actual movie. The title is developed by High Moon Studios, also known for Transformers: War for Cybertron (WFC). As a result, the game is very similar and identical to WFC, with the only difference being you now control the Earth counterparts of the Transformers instead of the Cybertronian versions.

The game is very short and the single player Campaign lasts only 7 levels, with a mix of Decepticon and Autobots including new ones like Mirage. The online multiplayer system is exactly identical to that of WFC, though leveling and trophy requirements have been drastically reduced.

Roadmap

Step 1: Complete Campaign and Collect all TRANSFORMERS symbols
There is no reason to play on any difficulty other than Easy. The game comprises of 7 Chapters (Levels), which do not take more than 20 minutes each. Please refer to the Collectible Guide by xRogue 5x, for finding all the symbols.

Focus on taking down enemies with your Melee attack as much as possible to keep your score multiplier up so you are rewarded with more points, and knock out the high score-related trophies for each level. Take note of the following chapter specific trophies:
  • Chapter I - Boot Stomper
  • Chapter II - Seek and Destroy, Rule With an Iron Fist
  • Chapter III - Good Driver Discount, Body Count
  • Chapter IV - Serrated, Stunning!
  • Chapter V - Homewrecker, Furious Flyer, Surprise Package
  • Chapter VI - Overlord
  • Chapter VII - Fleet of Foot, Counting Coup

Step 2: Complete Autobots are Weak and clean up any remaining trophies
Start by playing Chapter VI on Hard difficulty, and defeat the first 3 waves of enemies as Megatron without dying to unlock Autobots are Weak. Thereafter, work on any campaign-related trophies or collectibles that you may have missed on your first playthrough via "Replay Campaign" (Chapter Select).

Step 3: Complete Online Trophies
The Online Leveling System has been revamped and the trophy requirements have been lowered drastically. It won't take you more than a few games to unlock all the Online-related trophies. You'll want to be playing Conquest to quickly rack up XP points up to Level 20 for The Champion . You're likely to have the other 3 trophies: Sacrifice, Recruit , and Power Surge unlocked by the time you've achieved level 20 as well.

[PS3T Would Like To Thank yewjhin For This Roadmap]

AllSpark
Unlock All Trophies. (4)

More Than Meets The Eye.

Prime
Complete the Campaign. (2)

Complete all 7 Chapters of the Campaign.

Completionist
Destroy all hidden TRANSFORMERS symbols in Campaign. (1)

There are 27 TRANSFORMERs symbols hidden throughout 7 levels of the Campaign. You can either use this excellent Collectible Guide by xRogue 5x, or the video below by Demonic Foil. A tracker will appear for each new symbol that you've found. You can use "Replay Campaign" which is basically a chapter select function to go back for any you missed.

Road Kill
Destroy 30 enemies while in vehicle form in Campaign.

Press to transform yourself into vehicle form, and kill a cumulative total of 30 enemies across the Campaign in this form.

Grenade Expert
Eliminate 20 opponents with the Flak Grenade in Campaign.

Press (or in Asia/Japan) to throw a Grenade, and a cumulative total of 30 enemies across the Campaign with it. Enemies will drop grenades upon death which you can use to replenish your stock.

Recruit
Survive 60 seconds in a public multiplayer match without being killed.

Join any online public match type, and survive for 60 seconds. The best time to do it is during the first 60 seconds of Team Deathmatch or Conquest, where you should find an obscure spot near your starting position and hide there. The Scout in Vehicle mode is a good choice to hide.

Power Surge
Use an active ability 5 times in a public multiplayer match.

In online matches, each of the 4 classes (Scout, Hunter, Commander, Warrior) are given two abilities each, assigned to the and buttons. Every ability takes about 1.5 minutes to recharge after use. All you have to do is use an ability 5 times, it can be a mix of any abilities, and it is cumulative over a number of matches.

The Champion
Reach level 20 in any single class in Multiplayer. (4)

The XP required to level up has been reduced considerably from the game's predecessor (War for Cybertron). The best method is gain XP quickly is to play Conquest consistently. You will rack up points very quickly by capturing Control Points and defending them, and if you're a good player, then the XP rewards from kills are a bonus.

I highly recommend using the Warrior class, it's a very handy class and easy to use. It only took me 2 Conquest Games (20 minutes) to reach level 20.

Chapter I
Complete Chapter I on any difficulty.

Story related. Towards the end of the Chapter I, you will find yourself fending off attacks from enemies in every direction. Just survive long enough until backup arrives, then destroy the remaining enemies that appear.

Top Score: Bumblebee
Complete Chapter I with a score of 1000000 or more. (1)

See Top Score: Megatron trophy below.

I know what I'm doing!
Change into vehicle form before reaching the change form tutorial in Chapter I.

Upon starting the campaign, press to transform into vehicle mode and wait until the trophy unlocks.

Boot Stomper
Kill 3 Enemies with Bumblebee's Kick Ability in Chapter I.

Bumblebee's Kick Ability is a melee attack, activated by . Once used, it will take some time to recharge itself. Kill 3 enemies with this ability in Chapter I.

Chapter II
Complete Chapter II on any difficulty.

Story related. The ending battle is a pretty easy fight. All you need to do is press to activate Ironhide's Heavy Iron 2.0 primary ability, and use it to destroy 1 of Mixmaster's Shields. Wait for the ability to recharge, then use it again to destroy the other remaining Shield, and repeat a couple more times to defeat Mixmaster.

Top Score: Ironhide
Complete Chapter II with a score of 1000000 or more.

See Top Score: Megatron trophy below.

Seek and Destroy
Kill 25 Enemies using Grenade Blossom in Chapter II.

The Grenade Blossom is Ironhide's secondary ability. What you need to do is keep killing enemies and collecting the Energon Shards that they drop until this ability is fully charged (indicated on the top right of your screen). The ability is assigned to , and when you activate it, you have to press to shoot homing grenades that move towards any enemies in proximity, and most of the time guarantees a kill if it hits. You have a short amount of time to shoot as many homing grenades upon activation.

Rule With an Iron Fist
Kill 20 enemies with Ironhide's Melee attack in Chapter II.

Press to initiate a melee attack and kill a total of 20 enemies with Ironhide in Chapter II.

Chapter III
Complete Chapter III on any difficulty.

Story related. Chapter III ends with a boss fight against Starscream. He will always be moving around and has goons that infinitely spawn to harass you. Get rid of the goons to clear some space, snipe Starscream's head for damage when he's not moving, and just repeat until he retreats in shame.

Top Score: Mirage
Complete Chapter III with a score of 800000 or more.

See Top Score: Megatron trophy below.

Body Count
While holding out for Reynolds to send backup in Chapter III, 30 Decepticons are killed. (1)

Chapter III - "Ancient Ruins" Checkpoint: This event occurs after you and Bumblebee activate a piece of technology on top of an Mayan temple and defeated an Enforcer. The temple then transforms itself and you'll find yourself at the bottom of an arena. You will rescue Sideswipe and Reynolds announces that he is sending backup. Enemies will pour down from all four sides of the arena. You and your AI allies need defeat a combined total of 30 enemies. I suggest using Mirage's Assault Gun instead of his sniper, but if you're comfortable with the sniper then use it by all means.

The following video is provided courtesy of technole:

Good Driver Discount
Avoid taking any damage from Starscream's proximity mines in Chapter III. (1)

Chapter III - "Village Firefight" Checkpoint: This is after you defeat the first bunch of Decepticons you come across in this level. Starscream will start dropping red-blinking mines on the road ahead of you. Drive slowly and shoot the mines in vehicle mode, take out all of them and ensure you don't get caught in the blast, and you'll make it to the end unharmed. Take your time there is no hurry.

Chapter IV
Complete Chapter IV on any difficulty.

Story related. No fancy boss fights while using Soundwave. Towards the end, you need to activate 3 terminals to drain away the coolants on either side of you, then jump down the hole. Activate the console at the bottom, and after the cutscene you're in a race against the lava gushing up behind you, gunning for the exit as fast as you can. Remember to boost in vehicle mode using .

Top Score: Soundwave
Complete Chapter IV with a score of 1000000 or more.

See Top Score: Megatron trophy below.

Serrated
Kill 10 Autobots with Laserbeak's ram ability in Chapter IV.

Laserbeak is the flying-vulture like thing you control in the middle of Chapter IV. The Ram ability is activated by using , but doesn't do much damage on its own. You should press to interact with various glowing objects in the level, to have Laserbeak hide in them, and fire at any enemy to stun them. When you do, you gain Double Damage upon exiting the object you were in, then you should use the ram ability to destroy the stunned enemy. Do this for a total of 10 times.

Stunning!
Stun 10 Autobots with Soundwave's stun ability in Chapter IV.

Soundwave's stun ability is activated by pressing . It stuns all enemies within vicinity, and you should melee these stunned enemies for a guaranteed kill. Perform this 10 times.

Chapter V
Complete Chapter V on any difficulty.

Story related. After completing the Aerial Battle versus Stratosphere and other Autobots, fly towards Stratosphere and board him, then interact with the box inside.

Homewrecker
Wipe out all secret base ground defenders within 60 seconds in Chapter V. (1)

This occurs right at the beginning of the Chapter V, playing as Starscream you'll find yourself surrounded by a number of enemies. Take all of them out, about 5-6 in total and a Big Autobot after that, all within 60 seconds. I prefer to use the Rocket Launcher to eliminate enemies.

Furious Flyer
Fly through the canyons after Air Raid in 120 seconds in Chapter V.

Shortly after taking out the initial wave of defenders at the start of the level, some choppers will appear, followed by Air Raid. He will challenge you to catch him. Fly as best as you can and take out each turret on the left and right of the laser field he eventually leads you to, then fly out as fast as you can until you see Stratosphere. Do it all within 120 seconds.

Surprise Package
In the air battle, activate Starscream's Guided Missile ability 5 times without dying in Chapter V. (1)

Chapter V - "Air Battle" checkpoint. This is the Aerial Battle between you and Stratosphere. Starscream's Guided Missile ability is charged by killing a sufficient amount of enemies (normally 2 for each full charge) and collecting the Energon Shards that they drop. There are enemy escort planes that respawn after killed, which will serve as fodder to recharge your Guided Missile ability. Fire the Guided Missile and miss on purpose (if you hit Stratosphere enough times it will end the battle too early) until you've fired 5 of these Missiles.

Chapter VI
Complete Chapter VI on any difficulty.

Story related. The end of Chapter VI pits you against Optimus. You need fire at the Cryogenic Tanks/Pipes when Optimus is near any of them to freeze him, then shoot him to disable his shields. Once his shields are down, he will start hovering around. At this point all you can do is fire at him, and complete a Quick-Time-Event in between until he goes down.

Top Score: Megatron
Complete Chapter VI with a score of 2000000 or more. (1)

To achieve a score as high as possible, you should aim to kill half the enemies you encounter in each area using Melee. Melee kills award you the biggest score multiplier and thus the most amount of points. The score multiplier can go up to a maximum of 30x, and you should aim to keep it above 15, especially in areas with lots of enemies, so you can take advantage of them and maximize your score.

The score requirements for each Chapters should not pose a problem if you're playing on Easy, as you should have exceeded the score by the time you're 3/4 through the chapter.

Autobots are Weak!
Defeat all 3 waves in Megatron's Lair without dying on Hard Difficulty in Chapter VI. (1)

Replay the start of Chapter VI on Hard Difficulty and survive the opening 3 waves of Autobot Assault. The 3rd and final wave starts with a smoke screen, so you'll know when you're close. Make good use of Megatron's Drain Ability to replenish your health and ensure you don't die.

Overlord
Drain 5000 health from enemies in Chapter VI.

In Chapter VI, you play as Megatron, whose Drain ability () basically draws health from enemies and replenishes your own. A tracker will appear for every 500 health you've drained.

Chapter VII
Complete Chapter VII on any difficulty.

Phase 1: You play as Optimus Prime in Chapter VII. Early on, you'll be faced with a single Driller arm (right side). This is the best opportunity to get the trophy Fleet of Foot. Be aware of its sideways attack, which is denoted by a red Exclamation Mark "!" and sweeps across the center platform. To avoid it, you must step far enough into the cryogenic pool surrounding the platform, but do not stay too long in the pool or you're die. The Driller arm also attacks/slashes in a straight line and releases blue particles which you must roll out of the way to avoid taking damage.

Survive this opening section without incurring any damage to unlock Fleet of Foot.

Phase 2: Shockwave will appear. What you need to do is evade his attack by rolling out of the way, and to his back, and ONLY use melee attacks on his back until he retreats temporarily, which will unlock Counting Coup

Phase 3: This time you're faced with 4 Driller Arms. You need to fire at the arms to charge your Shoulder Rocket ability, then fire it at the Driller Arms to destroy them. You will unlock Primed for Combat in the process, as long as you don't die in between.

Phase 4: Autobot allies will appear to distract Shockwave. This section is similar to Phase 2 where all you need to do is just aim for his weak spot - the back.

Fleet of Foot
When one Driller arm is attacking, avoid all attacks in Chapter VII. (3)

See Chapter VII trophy.

Counting Coup
Use only melee attacks on Shockwave's power core to make him retreat to his cryo platform.

See Chapter VII trophy.

Primed for Combat
Activate Optimus' Shoulder Rocket ability 5 times without dying in Chapter VII.

See Chapter VII trophy.

Secret Trophies

Sacrifice
Be the first one eliminated in a public multiplayer match. (2)

As the trophy descriptions says, play any match, preferably Deathmatch, and rush headlong into battle and let yourself be killed immediately after the game starts, and hope you're the first one to be eliminated.
