Introduction: ToMI Chapter 5 - Rise of the Pirate God is fairly straightforward when it comes to trophy completion. You should easily be able to pick them all up on one playthrough, even without the guide, just by checking over the trophy titles and descriptions before starting and keeping them in mind as you play. Furthermore, the game itself is rather short, so going back for a second playthrough to mop up if necessary will not take that long. Due to this, I would recommend not using any guides on your first run, as figuring out all the puzzles on your own has always been the spirit of these kind of adventure games.

The only things to watch out for are the missable trophies. Aside from the four that are tied to story events, all of them can be missed. They are as follows:

  • The Violet Beauregard Memorial Trophy
  • Say What?
  • Grog, Grog, Grog!
  • Dance, Monkey, Dance!
  • Grave Ribber
  • A Credit to Pirates Everywhere
  • Morgan's Secret

This is because as you complete the story, you will lose and/or use required items, characters will become unavailable, the plot moves you along to a new location while leaving old locations inaccessible, and in the case of this chapter, you quit a bit too early. But again, just looking at their descriptions alone and keeping them in mind should make them all quite easy to pick up, and if not, a second playthrough to mop up.

Step 1: Play the story. You will pick up the four plot related trophies, and will probably have little trouble getting most of the rest. Again, I would recommend not using a guide for this playthrough, but if all you're looking for is a set of quick trophies, go ahead and use the guide to knock them all out in one go.

Step 2: If you happened to miss any of the seven missable trophies in your first playthrough, play the game again to mop up. The first thing to do if you missed "A Credit to Pirates Everywhere" would be to reload the autosave so that you'll already be at the end of the game, and then start over from the beginning if you missed others. If you need this step, it will not take long seeing as how you already know how to advance the plot this time. Also, you may use the button to skip any dialog you don't want to hear again.

  • After opening the crossroads, your ultimate goal towards the story advancement will be to find the gum, so it will be impossible to not find the gum needed for this trophy. Once you have found it and can reach it, you need to try these kinds of gum and at these times:

    • Gum Stalactite: Hanging from the ceiling. Can be chewed at any time upon finding it as it will be needed for a later plot point and thus cannot be missed.
    • Wads of Chewed Gum - Random Flavors: These are the pieces you can miss. Sitting in the window. Select the gum to have Guybrush pick up and chew a piece. There are nine mouth watering flavors, so be sure you get them all (Guybrush will repeat old flavors when you have). Be sure to do this before moving on to the last piece of gum, because if you get the last piece before these, Guybrush will refuse to pick up any more random pieces.
    • Wads of Chewed Gum - Spirit Gum: Also sitting in the window. You will need this to unlock "I Ain't Got No Body", so you will not be able to miss this one as well. However, be absolutely sure you have done all nine pieces of the random flavors before getting this one, or you will lose your chance at the trophy.

If you are having trouble locating the Spirit Gum or getting to the gum's location, see "Fall of the Pirate God" for a link to a guide that will help.

  • Discovered Morgan's Dying Words

After helping Morgan overcome her depression, talk to her and choose the "Are you sure it wasn't De Singe who killed you?" dialog option.

Morgan will disappear after you get far enough in the story to unlock "All Roads Lead to LeChuck", so talk to her before then.

  • Used a dollar bill to try to buy every drink in the Grog Machine

When you start the chapter, you will already be standing in front of the Grog Machine. You don't actually need the dollar bill, so select it, then select the four buttons for flavors (Grog, Diet Grog, Cherry Grog, and Grog XD).

You will be able to visit the Grog Machine until you get far enough in the story to unlock "Does This Corpse Make Me Look Fat?".

  • Did the dance of the hybrid fruit

After opening the crossoards, you will be able to make your way back to Club 41 through a rip in the Swordfighting area. On the table on the bottom left of the bar is a "Barrel of Yellowish Liquid". Select this eight times (it becomes "Barrel of Banang" after you've selected it once) and enjoy the show.

After opening the crossroads, you will be able to visit Club 41 until you get far enough in the story to unlock "Does This Corpse Make Me Look Fat?".

  • Read every gravestone

From in front of the Grog Machine, walk towards the screen and follow this path. You will find a hill with variously named gravestones. Select each one to read it. Gravestones you have read will change in name, except for Guybrush's which will always be labeled as "Gravestone". Reading Guybrush's gravestone is not required for this trophy.

You will be able to visit the gravestones until you get far enough in the story to unlock "Does This Corpse Make Me Look Fat?".

  • Opened the Crossroads

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. If you get stuck, see "Fall of the Pirate God".

  • Bound Guybrush's spirit to his body

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. If you get stuck, see "Fall of the Pirate God".

  • Completed the Diet of the Senses

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. If you get stuck, see "Fall of the Pirate God".

  • Witnessed Morgan's Final Fate

After completing the game, watch the credits and you will find an extra cutscene afterwards. The trophy unlocks at the conclusion of this cutscene.

  • Found out what Morgan treasures above all else

After helping Morgan overcome her depression, talk to her and choose these dialog options:

    • When you crossed over, did you have a "shred of life" too?
    • What was important to you when you were alive?

Morgan will disappear after you get far enough in the story to unlock "All Roads Lead to LeChuck", so talk to her before then.

  • Defeated LeChuck

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. Please note that unlike the previous four chapters, there is still a little bit more to do in the game after unlocking this trophy.
