Introduction: ToMI Chapter 2 - The Siege of Spinner Cay is fairly straightforward when it comes to trophy completion. You should easily be able to pick them all up on one playthrough, even without the guide, just by checking over the trophy titles and descriptions before starting and keeping them in mind as you play. Furthermore, the game itself is rather short, so going back for a second playthrough to mop up if necessary will not take that long. Due to this, I would recommend not using any guides on your first run, as figuring out all the puzzles on your own has always been the spirit of these kind of adventure games.

The only things to watch out for are the missable trophies. Aside from the four that are tied to story events, all of them can be missed. They are as follows:

  • Meals Fit for a King... Queen... Whatever
  • She's Cute When She's Angry
  • Fishing for Literalists
  • Talk to the Hook
  • Nice Try
  • Model of E-FISH-Ency
  • Ride 'Em, Pirate

This is because as you complete the story, you will lose and/or use required items, characters will become unavailable, or the plot moves you along to a new location while leaving old locations inaccessible. But again, just looking at their descriptions alone and keeping them in mind should make them all quite easy to pick up, and if not, a second playthrough to mop up.

Step 1: Play the story. You will pick up the four plot related trophies, and will probably have little trouble getting most of the rest. Again, I would recommend not using a guide for this playthrough, but if all you're looking for is a set of quick trophies, go ahead and use the guide to knock them all out in one go.

Step 2: If you happened to miss any of the seven missable trophies in your first playthrough, play the game again to mop up. If you need this step, it will not take long seeing as how you already know how to advance the plot this time. Also, you may use the button to skip any dialog you don't want to hear again.

Meals Fit for a King... Queen... Whatever
Gave the MerLeader every kind of bait

There are three kinds of bait to find: fish eggs, oysters, and glowing worms. You must offer the MerLeader each kind. The fish eggs will stay in your inventory for a while, but the oyster will disappear before you crack it open, and the glowing worms will disappear once you retrieve the summoning fish artifact, so be sure to offer those to the MerLeader before doing anything else with them.

She's Cute When She's Angry
Get Morgan angry by repeatedly checking out the mast

At the start of the chapter, highlight "Main Mast". Select it four times.

Fishing for Literalists
Caught a Red Herring

In the jungle on Spoon Isle, you will find a Fishing Well. To find the Fishing Well, from the entrance (where the pirates are aruging) go up, then right. On the Fishing Well is a coupon for fish eggs on it. Take the coupon back to the bait shop to trade for the fish eggs, then return to the Fishing Well in the jungle. Combine the hook and fish eggs in your inventory, and Guybrush will go fishing. He gets nothing useful, but you get this trophy.

Talk to the Hook
Threatened a number of adversaries with a Hook

Use the hook in your inventory on the following people at the following times:

  • Morgan LeFay: At the start of the chapter. Use the hook on her in between picking it up and throwing her off your ship.
  • Hardtack: After the blockade has moved in, get on the raft and go to the blockade in the southeast (next to the "Jerkbait Islands" label). You must do this before you set up his distraction, because once he is distracted you cannot select him.
  • Pox-Ridden Pirates: Also after the blockade has moved in. You will find them harassing LeChuck in the jungle. Make sure to threaten them before getting rid of them.
  • McGillicutty: After you slip past the blockade and travel to his ship. Stand to the left of the cannon so you can select him easily. Be sure to do this before you sink his ship.
Nice Try
Heard the Secret of Donkey Island

After saving the MerLeader from McGillicuty and unlocking "Mighty Merperson Rescuer", you will find yourself in a dialog with the MerLeader. Choose "What's the secret of Monkey Island?". You will need to do this before selecting the option about La Esponja Grande, or you will lose your chance.

Give Her a Hand
Kicked LeFlay off the Screaming Narwhal

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. If you get stuck, see "The BIG Finish".

Artifacts of LIfe

Mighty Merperson Rescuer
Save the MerLeader from McGillicutty
This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. If you get stuck, see "The BIG Finish".
Model of E-FISH-Ency
Read every fish joke

As part of the story, you will aqcuire a book called "101 Fish Jokes". Simply look at the book from your inventory ( on the book when in the inventory), and the open book will display on screen with a joke for you to read. Close the book with , and then repeat. Once you have read them all, the trophy will unlock. Thankfully, despite the book's title, there are only 14 jokes you need to read.

Ride 'Em, Pirate
Made LeChuck do something embarassing on the cliff

When you find LeChuck on the cliff, talk to him and choose these dialog options:

  • So, how much longer do you think?
  • What are you carrying with you?
  • Use...
  • ...claw thingie...
  • ...yourself.
The BIG Finish
Sailed to the alleged resting place of La Esponja Grande

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. Should you find yourself stuck somewhere, refer to this excellent spoiler-free walkthrough from Lostsaint18: Tales of MI: Chapter 2 Walkthrough - PS3Trophies.org
