Show / Hide Guide Roadmap

Overview

  • Estimated difficulty: 4/10. (9/10, if you don’t plan on utilizing the cheats.)
  • Offline trophies: 48 (34 , 11 , 2 , 1 ). (This is the information for disk-based trophies only.)
  • Online trophies: 0.
  • Estimated time to platinum: 15-20 hours. (Again, if you don’t cheat this goes up quite a bit.)
  • Minimum number of play-throughs needed: 1, if you use cheats. (2, if you don't use cheats.)
  • Missable Trophies: None.
  • Glitched Trophies: None.
  • Do cheats disable trophies? Yes, but there is a work-around. For more info, see the end of the guide, or just click here: Cheating in Star Wars: TFU.

Introduction: Welcome to Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. This is an action based title in which you play as Starkiller, a young apprentice to Darth Vader that is very gifted in the ways of the Force. The events of this game are supposed to take place between Episodes III and IV of the Star Wars saga. Moreover, these events have been adopted into the Star Wars universe cannon, by George Lucas, himself. While taking control of Starkiller, you will kill hordes of enemies ranging from your typical storm trooper to a 50 foot rancor, and of course, you’ll have some intense Jedi battles. As the title of the game suggest, you unleash the Force heavily throughout this game. Unfortunately, it remains true that the Force can be somewhat unwieldy. This probably accounts for the often shameful excuse for controls that this game has. Overall, this game is a very manageable platinum, provided you are willing to cheat. (See below.) If not, be prepared to curse heavily at your TV/PS3 while you are getting your ass handed to you on Corellian platter. Now, here's some guidance about how I recommend playing this game:

Step 1: Complete the story mode trophies. There are two ways to go about doing this:

  • Jedi Master way: Here you are a man (or woman) of integrity. You will not take the easy way out. You look into the face of adversity and say “I am a Jedi Master, bring it on!”. You will play through the campaign on Sith Lord difficulty to unlock Sith Master difficulty. Once you have Sith Master unlocked, you will (attempt to) beat the campaign again. You will not cheat. As a consequence, you will get your ass kicked and you will most likely turn to the dark side. This leads us to the way you should have chosen all along...
  • Sith Master way: Here you will use all the powers available to you to get through the campaign trophies as quickly as possible. You will use all of the cheats outlined above strictly adhering to the policy: “The ends justify the means”. Because you have used all of the cheats above, you will have Sith Master difficulty and your character will be fully upgraded. So, 99% of the time, you will be able to simply run past enemies and bolt straight through to the end of a level, where a boss will await you. These are really the only places that will pose any challenge in the game, but they aren’t that challenging, because you have cheat that allows you to replenish your health any time it gets too low. Isn’t the Dark Side great? Now, there will still be moments that you curse at your television, but these will come far less frequently than if you attempted the Jedi Master way. You will get through the story trophies in about around 10 hours, possibly less. You will then sit back and laugh at those silly Jedis and their silly integrity.

Step 2: Mopping up everything else. Once you’ve gotten all of the story trophies, you can go back and get all of the kill trophies via mission select or by starting a new game, as necessary. In either event, you'll want to put the difficulty down to Apprentice to make the enemies easier to kill. Here are some things to remember when going for the kill trophies:

  • All of these trophies require that you kill a certain number of enemies with a particular move.
  • All of the kills for a given move need to be on a single save file in order for the trophy to unlock. So, if you kill 250 enemies with force lightning spread over two separate save files, you won’t get the trophy.
  • You can die and go and do mission select and your kill total for a given move will be unaltered.
[PS3T would like to thank Cauchy for this Road Map]

100% Complete
Unlock all trophies. (2)

Get every trophy that isn't from the DLC, and you'll get this nice shiny platinum trophy! However, the description is misleading, as you won't have 100% of the trophies unless you complete all of the DLC trophies.

Apprentice
Complete Game - Apprentice difficulty. Do not change the difficulty after the game has started.

The complete the game on ____ difficulty trophies stack. So, just see “Sith Master” trophy.

Sith Warrior

Sith Lord

Sith Master
Complete Game - Sith Master difficulty. Do not change the difficulty after the game has started. (6)

This is the mother of all trophies for this game. If you do this without cheating, you are Force Unleashed god. More power to you. For the rest of us Force Unleashed mortals, cheating is the way to go. Click this link for how to activate cheats without disabling trophies. Provided you’re using the cheats, you will definitely want to run through these levels as fast as you can avoiding enemies whenever possible. In any event, you’ll probably want some strategies for bosses and hard enemies. Some can be found here: Star Wars: TFU boss and enemy strategies.

Sith Training
Complete all Training Room lessons

See “Sith Trials” trophy.

Sith Trials
Complete all Training Room challenges and Combat Modules

To access the training room, press start (during any level), and scroll down to training room. Once in the training room menu, you'll see a long list of three things; lessons, challenges, and combat modules. Next to each title is a box. If it's colored green, you've completed the lesson/challenge/module. If it's black you haven't. Everything is really basic and easy, especially if you're using a character with a lot of powers/upgrades. However, you won’t be able to enter a trial until you've acquired the requisite power or combo.
Note: Labartu has verified that you can just go into a challenge and fail it and it will count as completed.

PROXY Won't Be Happy
Destroy 35 droids

Only “passive” droids count towards this trophy; i.e. droids that aren’t trying to kill you. There are plenty of them scattered throughout the game, but if you still don’t have this after one play-through, just go to the first (non-prologue) level. There are 6 right at the very beginning of the level. Kill them, save and then restart the level. Repeat until the trophy pops.

Rebel Leader
Defeat 500 Imperials

If you are playing through this game normally, you will most likely get this one without trying during the course of your first play-through. However, if you are flying through the levels because you’re using the cheats, then you will need to farm a bit. There are any number of good places to farm this one out, but playing through the first non-prologue mission on Apprentice difficulty over and over is probably the fastest way. Be sure to only farm this one after you’ve gotten all the other kill trophies.

Cannon Fodder
Defeat 150 Stormtroopers

You will get this one without trying during the course of your first play-through. You can always use the prologue’s Stormtrooper spawning spot, if you want to just knock this one out.

The Harder They Fall
Defeat 10 AT-STs or AT-KTs

As long as you kill every single one you come across, as opposed to running past them, you'll get this one during your first play-through. Otherwise, the last level (on Apprentice difficulty) is a good place to use mission select, since there are two right at the start of the mission.

The Bigger They Are
Defeat 6 Rancors

As long as you kill every single one you come across, as opposed to running past them, you'll get this one during your first play-through. Otherwise, there is always mission select.

Bully
Defeat 25 Ugnaughts or Jawas

The Jawas are the little hooded guys you first encounter on Raxus Prime. Ugnaughts are the little uglies you encounter at cloud city. As long as you kill every single one you come across, you should get this during your first play-through. If not, just repeat the bar section of Cloud City.

Bossk
Defeat 200 Wookiees on Kashyyyk Prologue

All you have to do is kill Wookies during the prologue mission. (The Wookies on imperial Kashyyyk do not count). The best place to accomplish this is prologue’s Wookie spawning spot. See "Force Repulse Mastery" for more details on the spawning spot.

Skilled
Earn 250,000 Force Points on a single level

See “Legend” trophy.

Expert
Earn 500,000 Force Points on a single level

See “Legend” trophy.

Legend
Earn 600,000 Force Points on a single level

This is actually an incredibly easy trophy to obtain. The reason is that your points accumulate from multiple runs through the same mission and you don’t loose points when you die. So, just pick your favorite level and play it over and over on Apprentice difficulty doing nice combos and special moves. The trophy will probably unlock after you second play-through. Or, if you’re lucky like me, you’ll get this after the last level, without even trying.

Corellian Star
Complete all bonus objectives on one level

While this is pretty easy for a number of missions, you may as well just get it on the first (non-prologue) level: TIE factory. The objective is to destroy 5 TIE-fighters. There are 5 stationary ones in the first hanger bay. Just jump to them and attack or force pull them down. Or, you can destroy the moving ones that are gunning for you later in the level, but that’s not really necessary.

Holocron Collector
Collect all Jedi holocrons in the game (1)

Jedi holocrons are the yellow cube shaped objects that float above the ground that provide your character with upgrades. Here is a link to a written guide: IGN Holocron Guide.

Or, for those of you that prefer video guides:

Impaled
Defeat 100 enemies with Saber Throw

See “Force Repulse Mastery” trophy.

Lightsaber Throw Mastery
Defeat 500 enemies with Saber Throw

See “Force Repulse Mastery” trophy.

Grappled
Defeat 100 enemies with a grapple move (3)

See “Force Repulse Mastery” trophy.
Note: If you’re using Vader on the prologue (which you should), just use force choke. That is, grapple an enemy by pressing and holding R2, then press Triangle.

Launched
Defeat 100 enemies with Aerial Ambush juggle combos (5)

See “Lightning Shield Mastery” trophy.
Note: Jay-Slim suggests using your ground pound move on the first non-prologue level. To execute this, find a good crowd of enemies, jump around them and then press and hold Square.

Pushed
Defeat 100 enemies with Force Push

See “Force Repulse Mastery” trophy.

Force Push Mastery
Defeat 500 enemies with Force Push

See “Force Repulse Mastery” trophy.

Gripped
Defeat 100 enemies with Force Grip (3)

See “Force Repulse Mastery” trophy.

Force Grip Mastery

See “Force Repulse Mastery” trophy.

Shocked
Defeat 100 enemies with Force Lightning

See “Lightning Shield Mastery” trophy.

Force Lightning Mastery
Defeat 500 enemies with Force Lightning (1)

See “Lightning Shield Mastery” trophy.

Repulsed
Defeat 100 enemies with Force Repulse (1)

See “Force Repulse Mastery” trophy.

Force Repulse Mastery
Defeat 500 enemies with Repulse (1)

You should do this (and all the trophies that reference this one) during the prologue, by farming the prologue’s Stormtrooper and Wookie spawn spots. These are two locations in the prologue mission that have either Stormtroopers or Wookies that spawn in great numbers. The first is located at the beginning of the mission just after you force push the first gate open. Some Stormtroopers will appear behind you and if you kill them, more will respawn. The second is after you take the lift up the tree. A TIE-fighter will crash into a bridge an then a bunch of Wookies will start charging you. These Wookies will also respawn for while as you kill them off. If you want to farm these areas, don't advance to far beyond them otherwise the spawning will stop. Since the Stormtrooper spawn spot appears first, try to keep a mental tally of how many kills you’ve gotten there and try to only move on after you’ve hit 200. Now, when you’re at the Wookie spawn spot, be sure that you don’t go past the area where the Wookies are spawning. If you do, then you’ll have start all over, if you want to use this spawning area. This is because you can’t level select the prologue. However, if you find that the Wookies aren’t spawning anymore, you can just jump off the bridge to kill yourself. You’ll be brought back just before the spawn point and you can resume you Wookie massacre.

Stormed
Defeat 100 enemies with Lightning Shield

See “Lightning Shield Mastery” trophy.

Lightning Shield Mastery
Defeat 500 enemies with Lightning Shield (1)

You cannot do this in the prologue as Vader, as he lacks the necessary moves. However, these are easy enough to get by playing multiple runs through the first non-prologue level over and over on Apprentice difficulty.
Note: You should activate a “full” Lightning Shield, when going for Lightning Shield kills. To do this, press and hold L2, then press and hold triangle until your entire force bar is drained. Now, your shield will last much longer and it will actively shock anybody in range. Also, if you melee someone while in Lightning Shield, those kills will count towards your total.

Frenzy
Get a Frenzy x4 bonus

See “Sith Lord Frenzy” trophy.

Sith Frenzy
Get a Frenzy x8 bonus

See “Sith Lord Frenzy” trophy.

Sith Lord Frenzy
Get a Frenzy x12 bonus (1)

A frenzy is achieved by killing three enemies in quick succession. Every enemy you kill after you initiate a frenzy adds one to your frenzy count. So, you will need to kill fourteen enemies fast to achieve this trophy. The prologue’s Wookie spawning spot is an ideal place for this trophy. See "Force Repulse Mastery" for more details on the spawning spot.

Revenge
Complete Game - Dark Side

On the very last stage, you will face Darth Vader. Upon pummeling him, you will be given the option to fight Darth Vader again (in a stronger, uglier form) or to fight the Emperor. You make this choice by running towards the appropriate person. I recommend going for the Emperor on your Sith Master run and going back for Vader on Apprentice difficulty. However, it’s entirely up to you. If you went for the Emperor first, then you can get this trophy via mission select.

Redemption
Complete Game - Light Side

The same discussion for the “Revenge” trophy applies here as well. Of course, in this case, if you got Vader the first time around, then you should get this one via mission select.

Worst Day-Shift Manager Ever
Kill 12 Stormtroopers as Vader during the Prologue (3)

This will almost definitely come naturally or in the course of your other kill trophies. If you by some miracle you don’t get this naturally, then just go to the area just after you Force push the large door in the beginning of the level. This is a Stromtrooper spawn area.

Cost: 9.99 Trophies: 7

Youngling
Complete Jedi Temple - Apprentice difficulty (1)

See Jedi Master.

Padawan
Complete Jedi Temple - Sith Warrior difficulty

See Jedi Master.

Jedi Knight
Complete Jedi Temple - Sith Lord difficulty

See Jedi Master.

Jedi Master
Complete Jedi Temple - Sith Master difficulty

Note: The difficulty trophies do not stack. You will have to complete the temple on each difficulty to get each trophy.

When you drop out of the ship, you'll land on a platform swarming with Imperials. Spam Force Repulse to knock as many of them off the platform as you can. You'll deal with a variety of stormtroopers here, including incinerator troopers, jump troopers, and regular stormtroopers. Use Force Repulse, Force Grip, and Force Push to knock as many of them off as you can. Use Force Lightning on the jump troopers. Once you make your up the bridge towards the Jedi Temple, you'll encounter some dark troopers and a purge trooper. Use the same strategy of trying to knock them off the platform. Use Force Grip to rotate the giant lightsabers and open the doors.

Once inside, you'll have to deal with more dark troopers and jump troopers. After you deal with all of them, you'll want to cross the chasm in front of you, but there's a giant statue blocking your route. On the left and right sides of the rooms are doorways that you'll have to go through. Facing the way you did when you first entered the room, go through the right door first (you'll have to use Force Grip to open it). You'll enter a training room with combat droids. See Robot Parts for more details.

Once you're through there, go through the newly opened door and raise the bent bridge up using Force Grip. Go back the way you came and go to the door on the left side. Use Force Lightning to break apart the rubble blocking your way. Once you break it up, you'll come to another door that you have raise. Beyond that door is the museum. See As the World Turns for more details. Once you defeat all of the enemies here, go through the hallway in the last alcove on the right side. You'll find yourself on a platform like before, but this time use Force Push a few times to knock pieces out of the statue. After that, head back to the main room where you started. Double jump and dash (X X L1) across the chasm, and go through the doorway to begin the Jedi trials.

After a cutscene, you'll be on a platform and you'll have to move a blue orb along a line using Force Grip. See Get a Grip for more details. Once you're through that section, you'll have to move broken pieces of bridges into some fog to make them appear using Force Grip. You'll have to move quickly because the platforms will fall if you stand on them for too long.

Now, you get to meet the boss of the Jedi Temple. He has all of the same attacks as you except for a couple of additions. The new attacks that you haven't seen are health drain aura (only when he changes to another form), where he catches you in a vortex (spam O to get out of it), and an attack that changes the buttons on your controller (good luck). There are three stages to this battle and the game saves after each one. Use Force Lightning and your combos a lot. Once you're done with him, enjoy the ending.

Robot Parts
Defeat the training room in less than 2 minutes

This is the first room you should go into after clearing the entryway of the Jedi Temple. There eight blue statues that spawn combat droids here. Four are on the lower level and four are on the upper level. Once you destroy all of them (the ones on top have two phases you have to destroy), door on the other side of the room opens and you've completed the room. This is pretty easy to do, even on Sith Master. You shouldn't need to even attack one of the droids.

Note: This is also a good spot to get Proxy Won't Be Happy if you haven't done so already since the droids keep respawning.

Get A Grip
Defeat the trials without the sphere turning red

This is the first part of the Jedi trials. There are three stages here that you'll have to complete. All of them involve pulling a blue orb using Force Grip along a line of light. Take your time. There's no time limit here, so go very slow and be steady. If the orb leaves the line for even the shortest amount of time, you won't get this trophy. If that happens, you can just jump off the platform you're standing on and you'll restart at the beginning of this section. This can be done on any difficulty as it really doesn't matter which difficulty you choose here.

As The World Turns
Use the large globe to kill 10 enemies in the museum

After going through the droid training room, you'll have to go through the museum next. In the middle of the museum, there's a very large model of a solar system. The sun globe in the center is the one you want to pull down with Force Grip and toss at the different Imperials around the room. This is much easier to do on Apprentice since you won't take nearly as much damage.

DLC: Tatooine Mission Pack
Cost: 9.99 Trophies: 5

And The Quarterback Is Toast
Defeat Boba Fett

After you escape from Jabba's palace, you'll end up in a cargo bay. Here you'll fight Boba Fett. Use Force Lightning and Saber Throw against him since he spends a good part of the fight in the air. About halfway through the fight, some of Jabba's guards will appear. Take them out and then go back to fighting Boba.

Skywalker Style
Meet Jabba and defeat his pet using the pit gate

If you've seen Return of the Jedi, you basically know what to do already. After you fall into the rancor pit, run to the other side of the room and use Force Grip to raise the gate. Then run through the open gate and wait there. You may have to use Saber Throw or Force Lightning to get the rancor's attention. To get to you, he'll have to pass through the open gate. As soon he's under it, the gate will automatically fall on his head. The end.

Hot Bot
Use the hot irons three times on the Gonk Power Droid

When you're heading through the area beneath Jabba's palace, you'll come to a room with two droids being tortured. One will be upside down with it's feet sticking straight up in the air. Use Force Grip to pull the hot irons down on it's feet three times to get this trophy.

Jawa Juicer
Crush 5 Jawas by using the grinder in the Garbage Processing Room

After you jump through the garbage chute, you'll come to a room with a large conveyor belt and a gigantic spiked drum at the end of the conveyor. Use Force Grip to pick up five of the Jawas (careful not to hit anything, because Jawas are fragile...you wouldn't want to hurt them), and place them at the end of the conveyor so they get crushed by the spiked drum.

"No More Lies, Old Man"
Defeat Obi-Wan, before and after he becomes more powerful than you can possibly imagine

There are two phases to this fight, and you'll use the same force power for both. For the first part, hit him with Force Lightning and various saber combos. Saber Throw also works here. Once you wear him down enough, you'll begin the second phase of the fight. Here, the only thing that you can really hurt him with is Force Lightning. Once Obi-Wan is finished off, that's the end of the Tatooine DLC Mission.

DLC: Hoth Mission Pack

Official PETW Member
Make it through the Ice Caves without killing a single Wampa

This will either be your first trophy or your last. If you decide to kill 10 of them your first time, then you'll have to go back after finishing up the Hoth level and redo this. The ice caves is the first part of the Hoth pack. It's mostly platforming. The Wampas are your only enemies attacking you in this section. They look like large, white gorillas with horns and claws and they'll throw ice at you. Don't attack any of them, just ignore them and jump through the Ice Caves.

Alternatively, after you clear the Ice Caves and make it into the next room with the turrets, you can quit, start the Hoth level over again, and go for this trophy. There are too many checkpoints to just reload after completing the other trophy.

PETW Hates You
Kill 10 Wampas in the Ice Caves

This will either be your first trophy or your last. If you decide not to kill any of them your first time, then you'll have to go back after finishing up the Hoth level and redo this. The ice caves is the first part of the Hoth pack. It's mostly platforming. The Wampas are your only enemies attacking you in this section. They look like large, white gorillas with horns and claws and they'll throw ice at you. Kill any 10 of the Wampas.

Alternatively, after you clear the Ice Caves and make it into the next room with the turrets, you can quit, start the Hoth level over again, and go for this trophy. There are too many checkpoints to just reload after completing the other trophy.

Pull the Plug
Remove the Power Battery without destroying any of the sentry turrets

After exiting the ice caves, you'll come into a room full of turrets. Ignore them and don't attack them. Break an ice wall to the left and go in. You'll find the Power Battery on a wall after you turn the corner. Pull it with Force Grip.

The Cable Guy
Use the electrical cables throughout Echo Base to shock fifteen enemies (1)

In a few spots in the Rebel Base, you'll see cables attached to machines with orange sparks coming out of the cables. Pull the cables out using Force Grip. Lightning will come out of the disconnected end of the cable. Either use Force Grip to move the cable around and shock nearby enemies or use Force Grip to bring enemies to the cable and shock them that way. Even though they're only in a few spots, it's pretty easy to get 15 enemies shocked since there are plenty of Rebel troops around. The Hangar is a good spot for this as there are quite a few of those cables and enemy troops around.

"I’m Not Your Father, But..."
Take Luke to school

You'll encounter Luke twice in the Hoth base and have three fights with him. The first time, use your Force Lightning a lot. Strike him with your lightsaber while he's stunned. Aerial attacks also work well against Luke. After you beat him, he'll take off running through the base. You'll meet him again in the Hangar. For this second fight with him, use the same strategy of Force Lightning to stun, then strike . This time though, he'll have Rebel troops around that will shoot at you while he's attacking. After you beat him again, Luke makes a comeback and you have to wear down his life again. Use the same Force Lightning to stun, then strike strategy. Luke is a little cheap this time and will use more Force powers.
