Most titles of this ilk have you protecting some sort of valuable asset, using a variety of effective strategies to fend off countless waves of enemies and managing your resources. Savage Moon is that game. The difference, however, is that this highly entertaining RTS game manages to capture and hold your attention for hours on end due to it's first-class presentation. Excellent gameplay, superb graphics and attention to detail are just a small part of what makes this game unique and special. The objective in Savage Moon is to travel to various small planets (or Moons) and defend the Mining Operations from waves of enemies, otherwise known as Insectocytes. As you successfully achieve this goal you'll subsequently unlock the next level, and so on. Eventually you'll unlock the next planet cluster (Nebula) to go to, and along with that comes new maps, enemies and increased difficulties. Most games that give you a run for your money generally come with a robust amount of difficulty and frustrations. As such, it's worth mentioning again that Savage Moon is a very challenging game, particularly in terms of the trophy set. While some trophies will come easier than others, unlocking the majority of them will require a fair amount of patience and practice. Additionally, there's a modest learning curve with regards to navigating the various menus both in-game and outside of the gameplay, so it's a good idea to familiarize yourself with those early on. We'll cover more information about navigating through the game later on in the Walkthroughs and Trophy Guide. Walkthrough: The ultimate goal here is to achieve 100% within the most reasonable amount of time. To facilitate that endeavor, and to make the most efficient use of time, it is highly recommended that you purchase and install the Waldgeist DLC Add-On Pack. The reason for this is several of those DLC trophies are really only possible to obtain in the core game, and particularly early on (some of which at the very beginning of the game). As such, you can potentially save yourself time by not having to replay various levels over again if you can work on both the core trophies and certain Waldgeist trophies at the same time. It's killing 2 birds with 1 stone, so to speak. However the Waldgeist Trophy Guide and Road Map will be separated due to not everyone being particularly interested in working on DLC trophies in conjunction with the core game trophies. You're welcome to refer to it as you see fit if you choose to adhere to the above recommendation. NOTE: If you do have the Waldgeist DLC Pack installed you can actually choose to play that content first before the core game. But be mindful that there is a spike in difficulty in doing so. Step 1: Getting To Know The Game We'll get to the trophy hunting soon, but first, I think it's important you familiarize yourself with what you see the moment you select "Start Game". There's lots of things happening on-screen, many of which may be confusing to you at first. Just a few examples of questions you may have are: Q. *What's Training* Mode? What's Normal Mode...and with High Scores? A. After pressing the "Start Game" option you're then given the choice whether to choose "Training" or "Normal (High Scores Available)". Training mode tones down the overall difficulty of the gameplay making it a little bit easier to acquire trophies. However in Training mode you cannot save your high scores to the Leaderboards (if this even matters to you). Normal mode calls for gameplay the way the developers originally intended and you're able to save your high scores to the Leaderboard. Q. I'm confused at the Game Types.. Classic, Classic Vengeance, Waldgeist, Waldgeist Vengeance?** A. After selecting either "Training" or "Normal" you'll then press to view your very first map/level where the game begins. To the left of the screen you'll notice "Game Type" and underneath "Classic", "Classic Vengeance", "Waldgeist" (if you have the Waldgeist DLC pack installed) and finally "Waldgeist Vengeance" (If you have the Waldgeist DLC pack installed). Classic Mode is what you begin the game with, and upon successfully completing each level/planet you subsequently unlock the "Vengeance" mode for that level/planet. Vengeance is essentially an 'endless' mode where the waves of enemies just keeps coming. The goal is to see how far you can get before your Mining Operation is overwhelmed and destroyed. NOTE: There is a specific trophy that's best unlocked via Vengeance Mode, but I'll cover information on that in the Guide. Similarly, "Waldgeist" mode refers to the DLC Pack that's an optional purchase from the PSN Store. "Waldgeist Vengeance" levels are unlocked as you successfully complete each Waldgeist level. Q. Imoon Nebula? Xipe? Agamemnon? A. There are 3 Nebula (ie; cluster of planets) to complete in the core game. These are Xipe, Ymir and Zeus. At the beginning of the game you'll begin on Xipe. In order to unlock Ymir, you'll be required to successfully complete each area of Xipe, and so on. Agamemnon is the 1st area you'll be required to complete in Xipe. Additionally, the difficulty increases substantially as you move forward and unlock the other Nebulae, however by that time you should have a solid grasp of the game mechanics and strategies These are just a few sample questions most players new to Savage Moon may have upon first starting out. There is actually quite a bit more information to be learned, but we'll cover that in the "Savage Moon: Understanding The Gameplay Dynamics" Guide. Step 2: Tutorials 101 and Easy Trophies At the start of the game on Imoon Xipe: Agamemnon (1-1), you'll be taken through a series of on-going tutorials. This information is essential in understanding the very bare-bones basics of how Savage Moon works, and what will be expected of you as more Nebulae are unlocked and progress moves forward. As you follow the instructions given by the tutorial, more gameplay elements will be explained to you. Try to take your time and really pay attention to this information as it will be vital in your success with the game. You will unlock the "Imoon Agamemnon Trophy" upon completing the first level, Agamemon (1-1). Very easy. The Tutorials will continue on through Baxajuan (1-2) and Cerberus (1-3). For the most part, these first 3 levels are easy, especially if you've been paying attention to the instructions. However, if you're having problems getting past them then refer to my "Savage Moon: Understanding The Gameplay Dynamics" Guide. I'll be extensively covering a variety of useful information and details there. You will unlock the "Command Degree Trophy" shortly after the tutorial concludes in Cerberus (1-3). Step 3: Collecting The Remaining Trophies The remaining trophies are challenging to acquire, but once you've begun the process of understanding how the gameplay works in Savage Moon, hunting those trophies will seem less daunting. The challenges will always be there, but at least you'll be armed with the knowledge of proper strategies, resource management and effective use of time. Please refer to my forthcoming Guides for more detailed information on Savage Moon gameplay and the trophy set. I'll also be including helpful videos. Overview: In order to facilitate a better understanding of how Savage Moon works from a gameplay perspective, it's important that you, the player, pay close attention to the tutorials and basics of the game the moment you press "Start Game" and begin playing. This mini-guide will serve to educate you of as many pertinent details as possible so that you're well informed and can adjust to the gameplay dynamics much more smoothly than just jumping in blindly. Regardless of which level you're playing on, all enemies in the game advance in waves. Managing your resources properly can give you a distinct advantage in overcoming these waves of enemies. Conversely, poor planning and lackluster strategies will more than likely result in game over. And as far as the trophy set is concerned, be prepared to invest a modest amount of time into Savage Moon. Tutorials: Controls, Resources and Gameplay Ia. As I covered in the Road Map, you'll undergo a tutorial which is spread across the first 3 levels (Agamemnon, Baxajuan and Cerberus). It's during this these levels that you'll want to begin learning the controls, getting the feel for the action and adjusting to the gameplay itself. Moreover, you'll learn right away that the overall goal of each level is to protect your Mining Operation from being overrun by Insectocytes. When the health of your Mining Operation reaches zero, the game is over. Below is an image displaying part of your user interface. The "+100" indicates the health of your Mining Operation. The tutorial in Agamemnon (1-1) covers the basics of movement (controls) in the game. You'll learn very quickly that Savage Moon operates from a top-down perspective. The viewing angle can be adjusted by tilting and rotating the and thumbsticks. You can also zoom in and out by pressing the and buttons. This is useful if you're wanting to get a little closer to the action, want to focus on a certain part of the map or if upgrading is needed. Next, you'll be shown how/where to place your weapons towers. As a general rule of thumb, you cannot build upon lava bed areas or rock formations too small to accomodate the standard base size of a tower. If your crosshair is red then you cannot build there. If you select, say, a Machine Gun turret and the square reticle is red, you cannot build there. Only when your targeting reticule is green can you build equipment there. Ib. During this tutorial you'll also begin learning the layout of the in-game menu's. Pressing the button reveals only 2 options at this time: Machine Gun Tower and Repair Base. The "25" you see for Machine Gun Tower represents the amount of credits (money) required to build 1 MG tower. Initially, you begin the game with a predetermined amount of credits. This cash is used to build weapons towers. Whenever an enemy is killed, you earn credits. More credits per enemy death can be earned, but more on that later. Savage Moon has a variety of different enemy types, and as a result, you will have to deal with varying degrees of difficulty when it comes to planning out your resources. Some Insectocytes are stronger than others, others have better armor and eventually you'll come across enemies that actually fire back at you! You're able to see what kind of enemy will be advancing according to the bar at the top middle of the screen. See image below: IIa. Once you reach Baxajuan (1-2) you'll learn how to set up Air Defense Towers to combat flying Insectocytes. This entire level will focus on both ground and air enemies. Additionally, you'll want to get in the habit of pressing on levels that have flying enemies. Doing this puts lines on the screen. These lines are the flight path of the flying Insectocytes, and seeing them can enable you to strategize where you'll want to put your Air Defense and other towers. More in-game menu options will also be revealed to you on Baxajuan (1-2) so it's vital to continue paying attention to the tutorial as well as what you're asked to do in the level itself. IIIa. The tutorial will wrap up shortly after Cerberus (1-3) begins. Here you will learn the essentials of the Command Skill menu and how to adjust your Damage, Armor and Credit modifiers. See the image below: Your gameplay can be greatly affected by how you use the Command Skill menu. There will be times when you'll want a little extra damage and armor for some of the bigger foes you'll face. Other times grabbing some extra credits is the name of the game. But whatever the case may be, you'll be able to tailor the Command Skill menu to your playstyle. NOTE: Certain trophies will require that you boost your Credit modifier so that you'll earn significantly more money either during gameplay, or over a period of time. See the Trophy Guide for details. Additional Information: A.I., Upgrading and AOE Upgrading Weapons Towers The basic premise with Savage Moon is to not only protect your assets (that being the Mining Operations) but to manage your resources according to what's needed during any given level. Upgrading your towers wisely and at the appropriate times can make or break your rates of success. It is vitally important that you have a good strategy when spending your allocated Credits. Purchasing upgrades for Air Defense towers when there's no flying enemies is a good example of poor resource management. Different enemies call for sometimes specific weapon towers, but the common denominator is all weapons towers can eventually be upgraded to Level 5 (which is the maximum level possible). As you upgrade a tower you'll immediately notice a physical change to the tower itself. This will take place with every weapon tower in the game. See the image below for an example of the progression in which a tower is upgraded. In this case, the picture shows the evolution of the Machine Gun turret. It should be noted that access to Level 5 upgrades wont be available until you unlock Ymir and Zeus. Additionally, you must unlock and purchase upgrades 3 and 4 before Level 5 will become available. Understanding Enemy A.I. Enemy A.I. in Savage Moon can often times be predictable. This mostly pertains to ground Insectocytes only. Flying enemies have a predetermined flight path that they not only follow, but never deviate from. In most cases, ground enemies take (or attempt to take) the shortest available path to reach your Mining Operation. Although multiple paths may be available, you can sometimes control the direction in which any given hoard traverses. Using Blocking towers is an effective and useful way of steering traffic in a direction you'd prefer, but take note that this method doesn't always work. If the A.I. determines that the path you've steered them on is too long, they may stop and start hacking away at the nearest tower blocking them. This only applies to towers built at ground level. Elevated towers are beyond the reach of most Insectocytes with the exception of flying bombers and other ground enemies that shoot projectiles. AOE (or Area of Effect) This is something you'll want to take advantage of early on and at every relevant opportunity. Causing splash damage from Mortars is a great way of thining the ranks (and HP) of enemies. This is particular true if you have a mile-long line of Insectocytes trekking towards your Mining Operation. Always try to have some Mortars as part of your line-up, but remember to use wisdom in your tower placement. Weapon towers with a large radius of attack should be placed behind (or far away) from towers that only have short-range capabilities. Using good strategies like this can significantly help you as you progress through the game. Understanding the Savage Moon Trophy Set To expedite aquiring the first 3 trophies (Xipe Imoon Trophy, Ymir Imoon Trophy and Zeus Imoon Trophy), you should be in the mindset to complete each of the 3 Nebulae and their respective planets having obtained the Level Complete Award, Health Bonus Award and the Score Bonus Award. This means completing each level without taking damage to your Mining Operations. Doing this will also unlock the Imoon Admiral trophy . You can, however, just play through each of the 3 Nebulae just to get the feel for the game. As long as you complete each level/planet then you'll obtain the Imoon Conqueror trophy . This trophy doesn't require perfect runs but only that you completed each Nebula and it's respective planets. The remaining trophies require you to accomplish a certain task, which we'll cover in the Trophy Guide. This new DLC add-on isn't just more of the same, but more of the same wonderful elements that made the original game so much fun to play. The gameplay is still great but this time FluffyLogic really outdid themselves on level design and visual aesthetics. The Waldgeist levels pack not only a new visual appeal but an overall increase in difficulty as well. So let no one say this will be an easy 2 hour trek to 100%, even for seasoned veterans. However, by now most Savage Moon players will be well accustomed to the gameplay mechanics and strategies which will help the trophy collecting experience considerably. Those new to Savage Moon and Waldgeist are in for a real treat (and challenge!) as you'll be able to access the DLC content right away upon starting the game up. Walkthrough: As I previously recommended in my Savage Moon Trophy Guide, it's a good idea to work on specific Waldgeist trophies in the original game, but more specifically the Imoon Nebula Xipe/Ymir areas. The Luddite trophy can be completed on 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 1-4 and 2-1 (Agamemnon, Baxajuan, Cerberus, Duergar and on Ymir 2-1; Einherjar). Just remember to turn off the tutorial option before beginning Agamemnon. Banker Trophy, Insectocyte Juggler, Neophile Trophy, Purple Heart, Waldgeist Admiral Trophy and Waldgeist Imoon Trophy all require very specific things in order to unlock, but at the same time, some trophies share similarities with those from the original game (Waldgeist Admiral and Imoon trophies as an example). But I'll go into much more detail about each of them in the Trophy Guide. Aside from the Walkthrough, there are several ways to go about obtaining 100%. As such, I won't recommend which trophy to start with other than Luddite. That one should be the first one you work on and unlock since it's fairly easy, for the most part. 	Xipe Imoon Trophy
	Award for exemplary completion of an Imoon nebula. All levels of the nebula must be completed with a minimum score achieved on each to win this award.
In order to achieve this trophy you must earn the Level Complete Award, Health Bonus Award and Score Bonus Award in each of the 4 levels on Imoon Nebula Xipe. These are Agamemnon, Baxajuan, Cerberus and Duergar. This also means no damage to your Mining Operations at any time. If even one Insectocyte gets through you might as well restart the level. Repairing your base doesn't count towards taking no damage. Also, I won't be including videos for Xipe because the 4 levels really aren't that hard.
	Ymir Imoon Trophy
	Award for exemplary completion of an Imoon nebula. All levels of the nebula must be completed with a minimum score achieved on each to win this award.
The requirements for this trophy are the same as Xipe. You must acquire the Level Complete Award, Health Bonus Award and Score Bonus Award in each of the 4 levels on Imoon Nebula Ymir. These are Einherjar, Fenrir, Ghede and Hyperion. Credit to Katanalein for the following videos.
	Zeus Imoon Trophy
	Award for exemplary completion of an Imoon nebula. All levels of the nebula must be completed with a minimum score achieved on each to win this award.
The requirements for this trophy are the same as Xipe and Ymir. You must acquire the Level Complete Award, Health Bonus Award and Score Bonus Award in each of the 4 levels on Imoon Nebula Zeus. These are Incubus, Jikininki, Kitsune and Lotan. Credit to Katanalein for the following videos
	Imoon Conqueror
	This is the award for completion of all levels of the three Imoon nebulae.
To obtain this trophy, you must successfully complete all levels in each of the 3 Nebulae (Xipe, Ymir and Zues). It's *not* necessary to achieve the Level Complete Award, Health Bonus Award and Score Bonus Award for this trophy. Just completing all 3 Nebula is enough to satisfy the conditions of this trophy.
	Imoon Artisan
	Award for mastery of technology. This is achieved by researching and building all tower types in the game.
In other words, you must build every available weapons tower in the game. This will not happen until sometime during Zeus. The trophy itself should unlock upon completing whichever level you build your final tower in.
	Imoon Admiral
	This is the award for completion of all levels of the three Imoon nebulae without any damage to mining operations.
This is the most challenging trophy to obtain in the core game of Savage Moon. You will be required to complete all 3 Nebulae (12 levels) perfectly. This means getting the Level Complete Award, Health Bonus Award and Score Bonus Award in each level of each planet. Everyone will approach this differently in terms of strategies and challenges, but if you're looking for a little direction, please refer to the videos I've posted. Ultimately though, you'll most likely find your own style and niche with which to successfully overcome each level. Granted, it may take lots of practice and time, but you'll certainly feel great after you've obtained it.
	Imoon Agamemnon Trophy
	This is the award for the successful completion of the first level of the Xipe nebula.
This is a very easy trophy and will unlock after you complete the level Agamemnon. Half this level is tutorials and the other half is dealing with very light waves of enemies. You shouldn't have any trouble whatsoever completing the level and thus acquiring the trophy.
	Imoon Technician Trophy
	This award is for the first successful building of a tower upgraded to level 5.
You will not have access to Level 5 upgrades on Xipe, however you will on Ymir and Zeus. In order to unlock Level 5 for purchase you must first acquire the Level 3 and Level 4 upgrades. Since this is a fairly easy trophy to unlock, you should acquire it sometime during your Ymir run.
	Imoon-Bane Trophy
	Awarded for killing a huge number of Insectocytes.
1000 enemies must be killed in order for this trophy to unlock. I personally acquired this after completing Agamemnon, Baxajuan and Agamemnon again (Of Xipe Nebula). However, it's not necessary to do that exact same thing. This will unlock without too much trouble.
	Imoon Survivor
	Awarded for surviving for an impressive amount of time in any Vengeance Mode level.
Vengeance mode is unlocked once all 4 levels in a Nebula are completed. This particular trophy is best acquired on Agamemnon 1-1 (Vengeance). You must survive for 30 minutes. A good strategy is to make sure you have a solid line-up of Machine Gun, Mortar, Repair and Amp towers. But the key is to build Blocking towers so the enemies have to take the longer way around. This puts them in the line of fire for longer periods of time. Pace yourself and spend carefully. Don't spend too much too soon, or upgrade carelessly. Use good judgment when negotiating your resources. Splash damage is very important here as Vengeance mode generally has a spike in difficulty. It's also important to manage your Command Skills accordingly. You have different options to play around with but overall it's not a bad idea to give yourself a balanced Damage + Credit boost. Armor isn't so much an issue until later levels when the big guys start gnawing at your Blocking towers. But hopefully you've set up Repair and Amp towers nearby (and upgraded them) to keep your Blocking towers healthy. Overall this trophy shouldn't give you too much trouble, but you may have to take a shot at the run itself once or twice. I know I did.
	Command Degree Trophy
	Awarded for completing all of the tutorial sections of the game.
Another fairly easy trophy. This will unlock shortly after the final segment of the tutorial ends on Imoon Xipe: Cerberus (1-3). The trophy will unlock in the middle of the round instead of at the end.
	Command Credit Trophy
	Awarded for earning a significant amount of credits during your levels.
You must earn 15,000 credits in one round in order to unlock this trophy. You don't have to accumulate this amount all at once but just have to have earned it in total to count. Adjusting your Command Skill so that you earn more Credits is a good way to get this trophy, but even so, it's recommended you attempt this on Vengeance mode. More often than not regular waves either don't last long enough or give enough Credits for this to work otherwise.
	Command Skill Credit Trophy
	Awarded for earning a significant amount of credits during your game using Command Skills.
Remember what I just said about using your Command Skill to earn more Credits? Well, for this trophy you must select the Credit modifier at full capacity (not half Credit and half Damage, as an example) in order to qualify for this trophy. You only need to obtain an extra 1000 Credits during a round. With the Credit modifier at max, you'll have less defense and do less damage, but enemies will give more Credits per kill. The exact amount will vary according to which type of enemy you dispatch. Overall though, you shouldn't have any issues, particularly if you attempt this trophy early on (Xipe, Ymir, etc).


DLC: Waldgeist Add-On
Cost: 4.99 Trophies: 7


	Waldgeist Imoon Trophy
	Awarded for completion of all 6 levels whilst suffering no damage to the base.
As mentioned above for the Waldgeist Admiral Trophy, you must not allow any of your Mining Operations to take damage on all 6 levels. This applies to Menja, Niht, Odin, Pugot, Qiqirn, and Rabisu. This trophy will be very challenging to unlock, however the following videos will greatly help your endeavors to acquire it. Special thanks to Katanalein for the following incredibly helpful videos
	Waldgeist Admiral Trophy
	Awarded for completion of all 6 levels achieving the minimum set scores.
Acquiring this trophy means you obtaining the Level Complete Award, Health Bonus Award and Score Bonus Award in all 6 levels (Menja, Niht, Odin, Pugot, Qiqirn, and Rabisu). Also, the fact that this trophy and the trophy below (Waldgeist Imoon Trophy) share the exact same requirements (if this trophy compared to the original game is any indication) leads me to believe there may exist some sort of 'window of grace', so to speak, in terms of either damage allowed to your base, or perhaps in the amount you ultimately accumulate your score. I'll confirm as soon as possible, but just to be safe, I'd try to prevent any damage to your Mining Operation.
	Luddite Trophy (Waldgeist)
	Awarded for completing any 5 levels using only Machine Gun Towers without any damage to the base.
In order to unlock this trophy you must use only Machine Gun towers during any 5 levels. Oddly enough, you need the Waldgeist expansion pack to acquire this trophy but you cannot obtain it in any Waldgeist levels due to the need for the Sensor tower. As such, I recommend that you work on this trophy in the original game, but more specifically Imoon Nebula Xipe and Ymir Moons (Agamemnon 1-1, Baxajuan 1-2, Cerberus 1-3, Duergar 1-4 and Ymir 2-1 Einherjar). Be sure not to make any other types of towers or you won't get credit towards the trophy (this includes the Blocking towers). Lastly, be sure to select "Training" instead of "Normal" at the main menu just to help tone down the difficulty a notch or two. It will help quite a bit with the entire Waldgeist trophy set.
	Banker Trophy (Waldgeist)
	Awarded to those who display excessive bravery and greed by completing 5 levels with the armor and damage settings at their lowest values.
This trophy can be unlocked either in the Waldgeist or original game, but I recommend the same aforementioned levels (as the Luddite trophy) just to make things a little simpler. To qualify for this trophy, you'll need to go to the Command Skill menu and set the Credit modifier to max and the Damage/Armor modifiers to their lowest settings before starting each level. Do not alter or change these settings back at any time or you'll have to restart the level entirely.
	Insectocyte Juggler (Waldgeist)
	Given to expert strategists able to keep any single Insectocyte alive for 5 minutes or more.
This trophy applies to any enemy type, but you'll generally have more favorable conditions if you try and work with a weaker Insectocyte. Here's a video to show you how to do it. Credit to Frollard for the awesome video
	Neophile Trophy (Waldgeist)
	Given to those who complete any 5 levels using only Lasers, Anti-Air Towers, Particle Cannons and Orbital Strike Towers.	(1)
The Neophile trophy shares similarities with the Luddite trophy in that specific weapon towers are needed to successfully clear any 5 levels. In this case though you're required to use only Laser towers, Anti-Air Defense towers, Particle Cannons or Orbital Striker towers. 	Awarded for completing a level retaining less than 25% health without repairing your base.
This trophy can be a little tricky to obtain and as a result it may take a few attempts to acquire. The idea behind this is to let your Mining Operation take a little beating, but not too much of a beating so that it gets destroyed. The key here is to balance what you build (and therefore what you kill) along with what you let slip through the cracks in order to damage your base. If you let too many Insectocytes through your defenses you'll cause too much damage, possibly destroying your Mining Operation altogether. If you do not let enough enemies through your defenses then you may not cause enough damage to qualify for this trophy.
