Personality Goes a Long Way Trophy in Poker Night 2

  • Personality Goes a Long Way

    Win GLaDOS's bounty item.

How to unlock Personality Goes a Long Way

After you've completed your first tournament, the game will introduce you to the bounty challenge system at the start of the next tournament you play. You will be assigned three random challenges to complete while you participate in tournaments which can be viewed in the Start Menu or by pressing while at the poker table. These challenges can be obtained during one or across many tournaments.

Once all three challenges have been completed, your next tournament will begin with one of your competitors placing a unique bounty item up as a wager. Win the tournament to receive the item. After you've won the bounty item, you will be assigned three new challenges at the beginning of the next tournament you begin.

Continue completing challenges and you will eventually accumulate all 5 bounty items. The order the bounty items are offered seems to be random, with the exception that GLaDOS's bounty will always be last.

If you are assigned bounty challenges and deem them too difficult, you can immediately use the XMB exit trick to leave and re-enter the tournament, receiving three new challenges. However, because this must be done on the first hand of the tournament, you will lose $20,000 from your balance each time you do this.

I've listed some examples of bounty challenges below as well as some helpful tips:

    • Finish in X place or higher in a tournament
      • Self explanitory. You can utilize the XMB quit trick to ensure you win the tournament.
    • Come in X or better place in consecutive tournaments
      • Same as above but do it twice in a row. Again, you can utilize the XMB exit technique to ensure you reach the necessary place in each tournament.
    • Win X pots in a row
      • Self explanitory. You can try getting this simply by bluffing and betting big from the start after you've already won one hand.
    • Deploy a table unlockable from the X set
      • Enter the Start Menu, navigate to Unlockables, and purchase and activate an item from the appropriate themed group. Chips are the cheapest item from each set.
    • Win a Showdown with X hand or better
      • Wait until you've acquired the type of hand you're looking for (straight, flush, 3 of a kind, etc.) and then either try going all in yourself and hoping a contestant calls, or try and force another player to go all in and call him.
    • Go into a Showdown with X hand or better
      • Same as above but easier, you don't have to win the hand.
    • Go all in and win
      • Self explanitory. You can utilize the XMB exit strategy to ensure you don't lose a hand.
    • Double/Triple/etc. Up
      • This challenge is actually easier the fewer chips you have, and can be impossible if you have too many chips (over $50,000 for double, over $33,333 for triple, etc). If you have a good hand and not many chips, try going all in or just try and keep as many opponents in the hand as possible with smaller bets.
    • Knock out an opponent
      • Self explanitory. Win a hand where an opponent is all in.
    • Come in X or better place in consecutive tournaments
    • Steal a hand at the river
      • For this challenge, you must win the hand after the "river" or final card has been dealt by making all of your opponents fold. The best way to accomplish this is to check or make low bets leading up to the river, and then make a large bet or even go all in. This method is a bit risky, as your opponents will occasionally have a good enough hand to call your bet, but if not they will choose to fold and you will win the hand.
    • Win a showdown with only a high card
      • You have to win a showdown with only a high card, meaning no pairs or any other hand combinations. The best strategy is to wait for a hand where it doesn't appear your opponents have anything (if they are checking, not betting) and there are no pairs already on the table and you have a face card, preferably an ace. Try and force an opponent into a showdown and simply hope you win. Like the above challenge, this just may take time.
    • Win a tournament with a hand win percentage over X%
      • Every time the blinds are raised, GLaDOS will show you your tournament stats, which includes hands won/hands played. Win a tournament with this ratio at a high enough percentage. The XMB exit method can be very effective here because when you leave and return to the game, it only counts the hands since you've returned in your current tournament stats, meaning if you make it to the final two, exit out, and return and win the next hand, you will have a hand win percentage of 100%.
    • Win a tournament without going below $X chips
      • Simply play the tournament as normal and exit out with the XMB exploit if a hand is going to force you below your chip threshold.
    • Buy drinks for X players in the same tournament
      • You purchase drinks by pressing and selecting the player you would like to buy for. Drinks cost 5 tokens each so it's best to hold on to 20 tokens in case you need to buy drinks for all 4 of the other players. Also, complete this challenge as early in the tournament as possible so that you don't miss any characters who get eliminated.

Unlocking this trophy also earns you the Are Y0u Still There Borderlands 2 skin for the Assassin and the First Date premium theme for your PS3.
