Walkthrough Steps can be done in any order as you wish
Step One: Road To Glory by GlimpZe Along with past NCAA football games, this years installment has Road To Glory mode. Although the mode has the same similar format, there are many new features in NCAA 12 including Scholarship points, Coach Trust Points, and Skill Upgrades. First and foremost RTG allows you to play a full High School season playing on both offense and defense. NCAA 12 allows players to create a more in-depth high school experience with the option to create an authentic team. Don't want to spend the time to create your real high school team but still have the desire to represent your high school? Well don't worry. NCAA 12 gives you more color options/jersey styles and cities than ever before. During your RTG you will more than likely earn Best in Class, Taking the Snaps and Battle Tested trophies. Other Trophies you want to achieve in RTG include High school Champ, Campus Legend, Conference King, Best of All-Time, Ultimate Ironman, Earn My Trust and Ironman Performance. There are also a few miscellaneous trophies you can earn such as Happy 20th EA Sports!, Take a Stab Downfield and Strike the Pose (Will be easier to earn in Dynasty Mode). Estimated Completion Time: Simming - 2 hours, Playing - 5-10 hours Step Two: Dynasty - Part One In this step, you'll be focusing on three different team specific Dynasty trophies, Leaders of Legends, Head of the PAC, and Independence Day. These will not require much time. For the Independence Day section, you can make your coach's alma mater BYU. If you unlock this trophy, you will also unlock Dream Job and Hometown Hero. Step Three: Dynasty - Part Two In this step, you'll unlock the majority of the Dynasty trophies. For the best results, I recommend using the strategy provided below:
Set your coach's alma mater to Oklahoma if you didn't get Dream Job and Hometown Hero in the previous step. After you edit your coach, at the next menu, create a 16 team conference, edit one of the BCS tie-ins to grant a BCS tie-in to a non-Automatic Qualifier conference and edit a division name of a conference. Doing this will net you My Conference Is Super, One of the Big Boys and On Second Thought respectively. It's up to you if you want to keep the changes but I recommend that you swap a couple of powerful Big 12 teams for easier teams so that you have a better chance at having an undefeated season and win the championship. In the same menu, modify your Dynasty House Rules and set the Skill and Recruiting Difficulty to Freshman. This will make recruiting much easier. Now, it's time to select a team. Choose #1 Oklahoma (Dream Job will unlock). Now, select Set Up Recruiting Board then Create Prospects. Create 5-10 prospects, all different positions. Make them all from Oklahoma, Freshman year, and pad their stats across the board. Once you've done that, select Set Up Recruiting Board then Skip to Recruiting. Find the prospects you created and target them. You can now select other prospects to target or you can let the CPU handle the rest. I recommend choosing a few more 5* prospects for a better chance at becoming the #1 recruiting class. Also, choose a 2* player from Oklahoma to target. That way you can get the Point Some Fingers trophy during recruiting. Now, you can start the season. It's up to you if you want to customize the schedule. Oklahoma is a powerful team, so you shouldn't have to worry about the scheduling. For recruiting, you're going to want to recruit your created players so that they commit to your school. Spend 1 hour (6 topics) with each created player, each week. You should only need to do this for the first five or six weeks until each recruit has the interest bar at 100% for Oklahoma. Also, during any week, make sure to call your 2* prospect and downplay another school to get the Point Some Fingers trophy. After week 6, you can skip the recruiting and let the CPU handle it. You can simulate each game. I recommend that you save (make sure auto-save is OFF) after each recruiting session and after each win. If you lose a game, back out and start again from the last save. Now it's the end of the season. All of the recruits you created should have committed to your school by now and you should be undefeated with the number one ranking and a bid to the BCS national championship. Play or simulate the championship game until you win. Once you win, you'll unlock Hometown Hero and Living Legend. Once you return to the menu, simulate to the End of the Season. A screen should pop up. This is where they are offering you a contract extension. Sign it and Let's Do This Again will unlock. Save here and then advance to the off-season. By now, you should have a good recruiting class with several 5* and 4* players committed to OU. Advance to the off-season and simulate to Custom Conference (Week 13). During week 11, Best Class Ever and Dual Threat Coach will unlock meaning OU has the number 1 recruiting class. If for some reason the trophies don't pop, quit and restart from the last save. Spend a couple of weeks doing the recruiting on 5* and 4* prospects. During week 13 of the off-season, go to Custom Conferences and swap out a team in the Big 12 for another team to get the Changing the Landscape trophy.
Step Four: Dynasty - Part 3 Here you're going to go for the Cool Off The Hot Seat trophy. Real simple if you follow Dangles method found in the trophy guide. Step Five: Online Trophies There are two very simple trophies in this step: Check This Out & My Two Cents. You will need a pass in order to work on these trophies. The free two-day trial is sufficient should you rent or buy the game used. Step Six: General Gameplay Trophies/Clean-Up By now, you should have unlocked the majority of the trophies. Now that we got the hardest and most time-consuming trophies out of the way, we can focus on the easier and shorter trophies. During this step, you should go for any of the trophies you have not unlocked so far. Once you’ve completed the remaining trophies, the platinum is all yours.
[PS3T Would Like to Thank jmowen and GlimpZe for this Roadmap]

 | Platinum Trophy | |
| Unlock every trophy | (5) |
|
 | Happy 20th EA SPORTS! | |
| Break off a 20 yard run to celebrate 20 years of EA SPORTS! | (2) |
Simply run for 20 yards. The trophy will unlock once you’ve done this. |
 | Take a Stab Downfield | |
| Complete a pass for 50 or more yards in a Play Now or Dynasty Mode game (excludes co-op). | (1) |
Simply throw a pass for 50 yards or longer. This trophy can also be obtained in Road to Glory. If for some reason you're having trouble unlocking this trophy, try the following tips:
- Adjust the settings. Set the User Sliders to 100 and the AI sliders to 0.
- Another alternative is to choose a Play Now game and choose a 6 star school and play against a 1 star school and just throw a Hail Mary and you should easily get this.
|
 | 1st Option For 6 | |
| Score a touchdown handing off to the fullback on a triple option play (excludes co-op). | |
To get this trophy you must score a touchdown with your fullback while running a triple option play. Easiest way to get this is select a Play Now game and play as Georgia Tech. During the game, choose plays by formation > Flexbone Normal > Tr Option Str (should be play). In order for the Fullback to get the ball, you need to hold after hiking the ball. Run for a touchdown and the trophy will pop. |
 | Speed Reader | |
| Score a touchdown on a QB Choice run play (excludes co-op). | |
In order to get this trophy you must score a touchdown on a QB choice run play. Easiest way to get this is select a play now game and play as North Carolina. Choose plays by formation > Shotgun Normal > Read Option. Hand the ball off to the HB by holding after you snap it and run for a touchdown. |
 | Balanced Attack | |
| Gain 200 rushing yards and 200 passing yards in the same game (excludes co-op and Road to Glory). | |
For this trophy, you will need to have 200 yards passing and 200 yards rushing as a team at the end of the game. This does not have to be done with the same player. If you need help getting this, adjust the difficulty to Freshman and play as a powerhouse school. The trophy will pop when the game is over. You cannot get this trophy in RTG or co-op. |
 | Lock and Load | |
| With Player Lock on, return an interception for a TD (excludes co-op). | (7) |
To use player lock, you have to press while on defense. Once you're locked on, you will need to intercept a pass and score a touchdown. Easiest way to do this is with 2 controllers in a Play Now game. Have player 2 throw a deep ball to a receiver and then run the receiver away from the ball. Intercept it with player 1 and return it for a touchdown. |
 | In Your Crosshairs | |
| Spotlight a receiver and get an interception on him in a Play Now or Dynasty game (excludes co-op). | (1) |
To get a receiver in your cross hairs while on defense, you need to hold and press the icon for the receiver you're covering. Again, this is done easiest with 2 controllers. Simply have player 2 throw with while you are covering him and intercept the ball. |
 | Unstoppable | |
| Win a game by 35+ points on Heisman difficulty (excludes co-op). | |
Pick an A+ team and face a D- team. Set the quarters to 10 minutes. Then just super sim to the end of the game. You should be winning by much more than 35 points. Be sure to change the difficulty to Heisman and change the time to 10 minutes before starting the game at the pre-game menu. A good match-up for this is Alabama Crimson Tide (your team) vs. Akron Zips (CPU). |
 | Best Class Ever | |
| Have the #1 ranked recruiting class in a season in single team Dynasty Mode. | |
See Dual Threat Coach. |
 | Point Some Fingers | |
| In a single phone call, take 250 points away from one school by downplaying pitches. | (1) |
See step 3 in the Road Map for the fastest way to obtain this trophy. During your tenure at Oklahoma, select a two star prospect from Oklahoma that has their sights set on a 2* college. Set up a phone call for 60 minutes (6 questions). For each question, downplay their first choice. If you come across a question where the school you're downplaying is better than OU, change the subject or offer a scholarship or campus visit if the option is available. You should be able to take away well over 300 points. |
 | High School Champ | |
| Play and win the High School Championship Game in any state. | |
MISSABLE After you set up your RTG, start playing through your high school season ensuring you win every game. You will eventually reach the playoffs which consists of four rounds. Win all your playoff games and the trophy will pop after you have completed the last game. If you wish to get this trophy faster you can set your season schedule to the minimum amount of games (7 games). |
 | Best in Class | |
| Finish High School as a 5 star prospect in Road to Glory. | |
MISSABLE While playing through your high school season, you will improve as a prospect. Play well enough to be a 5 star prospect by the end of your season and the trophy will pop when your season is completed. If you’re playing as a QB, you should be able to simulate all of your games and still achieve the trophy. |
 | Taking the Snaps | |
| Become a starter in Road to Glory Mode. | |
MISSABLE Once you complete your Senior year in high school, you will have the option to choose from the schools you selected you were interested in during the season. After you have chosen a school, you want to practice to earn coach trust points. When you have earned enough you will become the starter and the trophy will pop. This shouldn’t take more than 2-3 weeks into your freshman season. |
 | Strike the Pose | |
| Win the Heisman Memorial Trophy in a single team Dynasty Mode or Road to Glory Mode. | |
MISSABLE This is done easier on Road to Glory. Since you'll be playing as one guy, you'll have a better chance at winning the award. Play good each game and you'll win the award. Chances are, you'll win the award your Sophomore year. |
 | Campus Legend | |
| In Road to Glory Mode, earn a spot on your team's All-Time leaderboard. | |
See Best of All-Time description. |
 | Conference King | |
| In Road to Glory Mode, earn a spot on your conference's All-Time leaderboard. | (1) |
See Best of All-Time description. |
 | Best of All-Time | |
| In Road to Glory Mode, earn a spot on the NCAA All-Time leaderboard. | |
MISSABLE To get this trophy you need to earn a spot on the NCAA All-Time leader board. Easiest way to get this trophy is creating a Defensive End (DE), simulate through your high school season and choose a college. Before you start your college career, go into your RTG settings and turn offsides to 0. This will enable you to be in the backfield before the ball is snapped to tackle/sack the QB as the ball is hiked. Depending on how many tackles/sacks you get per game this trophy shouldn't take you any more than 5 games MAX. Along the way to getting this trophy you should earn Campus Legend and Conference King. |
 | Ironman Performance | |
| Score an offensive and defensive touchdown in a Road to Glory high school game. | (1) |
MISSABLE This trophy is extremely luck based. For this trophy, you need to play on both sides of the ball during your high school season and score a TD on both sides of the ball in a single game. Scoring the offensive TD will come easily if you choose to be a QB. For defense, you will either need to return an interception or a fumble for a TD while playing through your games. Easiest method I found that worked for me was creating a QB/CB and just simply simulated entire games until I scored a defensive TD. You don't have to actually play at all and the trophy will pop at the end of the game. This method could take one game or two RTG high school seasons. It took me 6 weeks to achieve it this way but still is less time taking and easier then playing in my opinion. |
 | Ultimate Ironman | |
| Finish High School as a 5 star prospect in Road to Glory on both offense and defense. | |
MISSABLE In order to achieve this trophy you must be a 5* prospect on both offense and defense at the end of your high school season. Make sure that when you set up your RTG that you have a primary position on offense and a secondary position on defense. If you choose QB for your offensive position, you can simulate all of your offensive plays as you will easily be a 5* prospect by the end of the year. As far as defense, you can either choose to play all the snaps and become a 5* prospect by the end of the year or you can edit your RTG settings so there is no offsides so you can be in the backfield before the ball is snapped to sack the quarterback or tackle him for a loss every play. Depending on how many tackles/sacks you get per game, this method should only take you 2 games max. Doing this legitimately is quite a challenge. NOTE: You can buy the Five Star player unlocks from the PS store for $2.99 for one position or $5.99 for all positions. Once you finish the high school season, the trophy will unlock. |
 | Battle Tested | |
| Win a position battle in Road To Glory | |
MISSABLE NOTE: In order to get this trophy, you must select a school where you're going to be 2nd string. Once you start your Freshman season in college, you want to practice each week to earn coach trust points. When you have earned enough, eventually "Position Battle" will be in place of your practice option under your current week. Select it like you would to start practice and simply perform decent in practice to earn 1000 points and this will come very easily. |
 | Earn My Trust | |
| Reach the max coach trust in Road to Glory | |
MISSABLE Coach Trust is something new in NCAA 12. The tab is located under your weekly options to check your progress. I recommend you play as a QB since they touch the ball more. When you become the starter, you will have 8 ranks to go through to become a Team Legend. In order to move up in rank, you need to earn "Coach Trust Points". You can earn points in practice and in games. You can earn points faster in practice, so make sure to practice every week. You can reach Team Legend by the end of your Freshman season however it is more likely you will earn this sometime in your Sophomore season. Be careful when practicing/playing games. Performing poorly will cost you points. Point values are as follows:
POSITIVE +1 per yard gained +5 good hot route +10 first down +25 for tackle +50 for scoring touchdown NEGATIVE -1 per yard lost -10 bad hot route -10 for getting sacked -25 for fumble -50 for throwing interception These are not all the values but the main ones if you choose to play as a QB. |
 | My Conference is Super | |
| Create a 16 team super conference in Dynasty | |
See step 3 in the Road Map for the fastest way to obtain this trophy. When creating a dynasty, go to Custom Conferences. Press and choose the ACC. Choose Add Team and choose any team to add to the conference. Do this three more times and there will be 16 teams and then the trophy will pop. |
 | One Of The Big Boys | |
| Edit the BCS tie-ins to grant a BCS tie-in to a non-AQ conference | |
See step 3 in the Road Map for the fastest way to obtain this trophy. When creating a dynasty, go to Custom Conferences, select Conference Rules, press to bring up BCS Bowls and select one of the Automatic Qualifiers. For Conference, choose a non-BCS conference (MAC or MWC) and select any of the bowls. |
 | On Second Thought | |
| Edit a division name of a conference in Dynasty | |
See step 3 in the Road Map for the fastest way to obtain this trophy. When creating a Dynasty, go to Custom Conferences, then select Conference Rules. Choose a conference that is split into divisions (C-USA, PAC-12, or SEC). Go down to Division Name 1 or 2 and change the name to your liking. |
 | Leaders Of Legends | |
| Play and win the inaugural Big Ten Championship game in Dynasty | |
Fastest way to do this is to play as Ohio State. Swap out everyone in the Big Ten for easy teams. Once you start the season, you can simulate all the way to the last week which is the Big Ten Conference Championship. I recommend you simulate every other week just to make sure your beating teams within you're conference. Chances are if you lose one game versus a conference opponent, you will not make it to the championship. Once you reach the conference championship, start the game and SuperSim until the end of the game. To speed this up, make the quarters set at one or two minutes. NOTE: Turn off Auto-Save. If you lose a conference game or the championship, just quit to the main menu and reload the dynasty. |
 | Head Of The PAC | |
| Play and win the inaugural PAC-12 Championship game in Dynasty | |
Similar to Leaders of Legends, play as Oregon and swap out everyone in the Pac-12 for easy teams. Once you start the season, you can simulate all the way to the last week which is the Pac-12 Conference Championship. I recommend you simulate every other week just to make sure you're beating teams within your conference. Chances are, if you lose one game versus a conference opponent, you will not make it to the championship. Once you reach the conference championship, start the game and SuperSim until the end of the game. To speed this up, make the quarters set at one or two minutes. NOTE: Turn off Auto-Save. If you lose a conference game or the championship, just quit to the main menu and reload the dynasty. |
 | Independence Day | |
| Play and win the National Championship game with BYU in the first year of Dynasty | (4) |
NOTE: When creating your coach, make sure to set his alma mater to BYU. When you get this trophy, you'll also unlock Dream Job and Hometown Hero. This one is a little trickier since BYU is in the Independent conference. DO NOT move BYU into another conference, doing so voids the trophy even if you win the national title. The great thing about being an Independent team, you can modify the entire schedule to make it easier to have a better chance at reaching the BCS game. Modify your schedule so that it isn't too hard but isn't too easy. Too hard and you'll lose and have to repeat multiple games. Too easy and you'll most likely not get a bid to the BCS bowl because of a lack of strength in the schedule. Here's the schedule I used:
Week 1: @ Ole Miss Week 2: @ #22 Texas Week 3: USC Week 4: @ Pittsburgh Week 5: @ Utah State Week 6: North Carolina Week 7: @ Oregon State Week 8: Kentucky Week 9: #14 TCU Week 10: OPEN Week 11: Northwestern Week 12: Boston College Week 13: @ Arizona Week 14: OPEN
You're going to want to turn off Auto-Save. That way if you lose one week, you can back out of the dynasty and try again. Losing one game pretty much means you won't make it to the big show. Make sure to save after each week that you win. Once you reach the championship game, start the game and SuperSim until the end of the game. To speed this up, make the quarters set at one or two minutes. |
 | Hometown Hero | |
| Lead your alma mater to a National Championship as a head coach in Dynasty (Coach Contracts on) | |
See Independence Day or Step 3 in the Road Map. |
 | Changing The Landscape | |
| Edit a conference's members in a Dynasty off-season | |
See step 3 in the Road Map for the fastest way to obtain this trophy. During the off-season (after the completion of a season), during Week 13, there's an option to customize conferences. During that week, go to Custom Conferences and simply swap one team from the conference you're in for another team from another conference |
 | Let's Do It Again | |
| As a head coach in Dynasty, sign an extension to stay at the same school (Coach Contracts on) | (4) |
See step 3 in the Road Map for the fastest way to obtain this trophy. Should you excel in your coaching duties by meeting the majority of your goals and/or winning the national championship, the school will be so impressed with you and ask you to stick around longer. Accept the offer and the trophy will unlock. |
 | Dream Job | |
| Become the head coach of your alma mater in Dynasty (Coach Contracts on) | |
See Independence Day or step 3 in the Road Map. |
 | Cool Off The Hot Seat | |
| Escape the hot seat (less than 30% security) to keep your job for next Season (Coach contracts on) | |
Start off by choosing Texas and become the head coach. Go to roster and edit everyone over 80 overall. Lower the first 5 options to 0 and then save. Continue that until all players over 80 overall change to 40 overall. Now go to your depth chart and make everyone that is now 40 overall a starting position. If you get to a position with no one that is 40 overall, just skip that position. It shouldn't matter if some positions have decent overall players. The positions that are most important to have starters at 40 overall are QB, HB, and WR. Now simulate to the start of the season. After that, simulate to conference championship week. You will most likely be 0-12 at the end of the conference championship week. You will not qualify for any bowls, so just simulate to the end of the season. The trophy will unlock after the season ends. Credit to Dangles for this. |
 | Dual Threat Coach | |
| Win the BCS Championship & have the #1 recruiting class in a single season as head coach in Dynasty | |
See step 3 in the Road Map for the fastest way to obtain this trophy. Here you will need to win the championship and have the #1 recruiting class in the same season. If you follow step three in the road map, you'll have no problems getting this and Best Class Ever. Here are some recruiting tips for each week. The first five to six weeks, you're going to want to do the recruiting yourself but only for the guys you created. Week one: You're going to want to select the second option, what the player thinks about the topic at hand. Week two: Select the first option, make a pitch for the topic on hand but only if the player has a high interest for it. If he doesn't, change the subject. If it's unknown, ask him what he think of the topic. Week three: Same as week two. Week four: Right now, you should be able to offer scholarships. If so, offer each of your created players a scholarship. This takes up one question. For the remainder of the phone call, follow step two. Week five: Make a promise to the player. Once you've done that, follow step two. Week six: Here you're going to want to offer a scholarship, schedule a visit (if the prospect is ready), or make promises. Each nets you at least +100 interest points. After week six, all of your created prospects should have OU as their number one school. A couple of them might even commit before then. |
 | Living Legend | |
| Reach a coach prestige of A+ with a created coach in Dynasty (Coach Contracts on) | |
See step 3 in the Road Map for the fastest way to obtain this trophy. To reach coach prestige of A+ in Dynasty, you must complete all or most of the goals that are given to you upon signing a contract at the beginning of a Dynasty. Chances are you'll get this in your second season of being a coach depending what goals you are required to fulfill. Each school has different requirements. Winning a national championship nets you an automatic A+ grade. |
 | My Two Cents | |
| In Online Dynasty, write a comment on a Dynasty Wire story | (1) |
From the Main Menu, go to Online Dynasty and select Create New Dynasty. Skip through the next few parts (creating your coach, dynasty options, team selection, etc) unless you feel like working on them. Once the online dynasty has been uploaded, from the online dynasty menu under the Pre-Season 2011 tab, select Dynasty Wire. Find a story, press and write a comment. Once you press enter, the trophy will unlock. |
 | A Legend is Born | |
| Defeat a rival using your backup QB. Minimum 15 pass attempts (excludes co-op) | |
Choose a Play Now game. Select Oklahoma vs. Missouri. Have Player 1 be Oklahoma. After the coin toss, press and go to Strategy > Depth Chart. Sub in your backup QB for your starter. Now simply simulate to the end of the game. More than likely you will win the game. The trophy will pop after the game is completed as long as your QB has a minimum of 15 pass attempts. |
 | Tire Fire Offense | |
| Win a game without scoring an offensive touchdown and gaining less than 200 yards (excludes co-op) | (9) |
For this trophy, you need to win a game without scoring a touchdown and gaining less than 200 total yards. Choose a Play Now game and select Oklahoma vs. San Jose St. Choose Oklahoma for Player 1. Set the game to 1 minute quarters. After the coin toss, simulate if you need to get to offense. Once you're on offense, march the ball down the field and once you're in comfortable field goal range (40 yard line on the opposing teams half) kick a field goal. Simulate Defense and just run out the clock to win 3-0. |
 | Take What You Want | |
