Introduction

Move Fitness is, as the title describes, is a fitness game that utilises Move wand controllers. You will require 2 Move wand controllers and a Playstation Eye to be able to play the game.

The game is a collection of 28 exercises (mini games), that are then bundled together into sets to create 15 predefined programs. For each exercise you complete, you are awarded points in a category for the body part you are working. There are 4 categories: Cardio, Arms, Core and Legs.

You do not need to follow the exercises exactly but will at the very least need to shake the move controllers around a bit to generate calorie burn simulation, but why not take the opportunity to add some extra exercise into your life and at least attempt some of the exercises.



WALKTHROUGH
 





Step 1 - Initial Setup:
The game takes the BMI (Body Mass Index) approach to working out calorie burn. The formula for calculating BMI is Weight (Kg)/(height(Meters) x height(Meters)). Therefore to achieve the highest level of calorie burn, set up your character to be minimum height (71cm) and maximum weight (200kg). Also set to maximum age (120). Doing so will give youa BMI of 397 (where a BMI of 40 is classified as morbidly obese). This will aid in obtaining the "Big Burner" trophy quicker.

Step 2 - Predefined Workouts - Estimated time to complete: 1 Hour 45 mins (in game exercise time):
Go to Workout menu from the main menu and play through each predefined workout once. On the right hand side, ensure to change the workout time from the default to the shortest duration.

By this stage, you should obtain: "New member", "First time", "Athlete", "Investigator", "Small Heart", "Tiny Arms", "Tiny Legs", "The Core" and "Little Burner".

Step 3 - Goals – Estimated time to complete: 5 Hours (in game exercise time):
This is where the majority of your time will be spent. On the main menu, you will notice a bar with 3 circles on the left hand side of the screen. Move the pointer over it and press to expand it. When expanded, you will be given the requirements for your current goals. The 3 goals will be in the following format, with 1 of each:

  • Beat your best score in an exercise
  • Play an exercise 10 times
  • Achieve 10/20/30 points of cardio/legs/core or arms or complete 3 programmes

The requirements need to be completed on the same day to achieve the goal (i.e. you must complete 10 sets of squat jumps exercises on that day to achieve 1 goal, not 5 on 1 day then another 5 on another day).

In this stage you should obtain: "Hard Striker", "Big Core", "Big Legs", "Big Heart", "Big Arms", "Rush", "Burner", "Big Burner", "Line 'em up", "Dodger", "Best of the Backyard", "Time saver", "Excellent Worker", "A Hard Days Work", "Elusive" and "Hard Worker"

Step 4 - On the top – Estimated time to complete: Could take many hours depending on leaderboard score:
The problem trophy and the reason the platinum is currently so hard to obtain, "On the top". This trophy requires that you obtain the #1 position on one of the online leaderboards for one of the exercises. The reason I advise to go for this last is to make the goal step above easier. If you go for this first you may then need to try and beat the score again for a goal. For further information, please see the "On the top" trophy in the guide.

Step 5 - Clean Up:
If you find you haven't obtained your platinum yet this is the stage to mop them up.

Potential trophies in this stage could be: "Hard Striker","Rush","Line 'em up", "Dodger", "Best of the Backyard", "Time saver" and "Elusive". If you didn't get them in Step 3, you may also earn "Loser" and "Biggest Loser" if you didn't reduce the weight slider on the fitness check.

  • Welcome to the club!

    Free Trophy – Awarded the first time you load the game.

  • Play through a program

    This will come naturally when collecting the rest of the trophies. If you're impatient, go to Workout Programs and create a custom workout with 1 exercise, then play it with the lowest time setting (30s).

  • Collect 100 cardio points

    This will come naturally while collecting other trophies. If you want to grind it, see the "Big Heart" trophy description.

  • Collect 100 arm points

    This will come naturally while collecting other trophies. If you want to grind it, see the "Big Arms" trophy description.

  • Collect 100 leg points

    This will come naturally while collecting other trophies. If you want to grind it, see the "Big Legs" trophy description.

  • Collect 100 core points

    This will come naturally while collecting other trophies. If you want to grind it, see the "Big Core" trophy description.

  • Play through all predefined programs

    Go to Workout Programs, then play each of the 15 predefined workouts. Choose the lowest time setting in the right hand side before starting the workout.

  • Play all exercises at least once

    You should achieve this while doing the "Athlete" trophy. The quickest way to do this individually is to create a custom workout with 1 exercise. Complete the custom workout at the lowest time setting (30s) then change the exercise in the workout. Repeat this for all 28 exercises.

  • Throw a really hard punch in Breaking Walls

    This should come naturally. To get this out of the way early, either create a custom workout with breaking walls as the only exercise or just play the exercise from the single exercise menu. Throw a hard hook and get 50 points from the punch to unlock.

  • Lose weight in a fitness check

    Every week, you will be asked to complete a fitness test. Simply dropping the weight slider by 1 will unlock this. "See Biggest Loser" for further details.

  • Collect 1000 core points

    This should come naturally while going for the "Excellent Worker" trophy. If you want to grind it, do custom workouts with either dodge or twister exercise set to the longest time.

  • Collect 1000 leg points

    This should come naturally while going for the "Excellent Worker" trophy. If you want to grind it, do custom workouts with jump squats set to the longest time.

  • Collect 1000 cardio points

    This should come naturally while going for the "Excellent Worker" trophy. If you want to grind it, do custom workouts with dummy warmup, heavy bag warmup, jumping jacks or pickup set to the longest time.

  • Collect 1000 arm points

    This should come naturally while going for the "Excellent Worker" trophy.If you want to grind it, do custom workouts with shoulder press set to the longest time.

     

  • Rush

     

    Throw 25 score giving punches in 15 seconds in Heavy Bag Warm Up

    Play the Heavy Bag exercise from the Exercises menu. Throw quick jab punches and it should unlock easily.

  • Burn 2500 calories

    Should come naturally. See "Big Burner" for further details.

  • Burn 10000 calories

    Using the high BMI settings, this should come easily while going for the "Excellent Worker" trophy. To grind it, create a custom workout with any exercise, then play with longest time setting (120s) and instead of doing the exercise, just shake the move controllers.

  • Lose weight in 3 consecutive fitness checks

    Every week, you will be asked to complete a fitness check. Simply reduce the weight slider by 1 on 3 consecutive weeks to unlock. To grind it, load the game and complete the fitness check, then quit to the XMB and change the PS3 clock by 1 week. Re-load the game again (while remaining offline), and you should be presented with the fitness check again. Reduce the weight by 1 again. Repeat for 3 consecutive fitness checks and the trophy should pop.

  • Score 5 goals in a row in Basket

    Should come easily enough just playing game. See "Best of Backyard" for tips.

  • Reach a score of at least 2000 in Dodgeball without getting hit by a ball.

    Create a custom workout with Dodgeball as the only exercise, playing with the longest time setting. 2,000 points should come easily, you don’t have to move your full body to dodge, you only have to move the Move controllers.

  • Score 15 goals in a row in Basket

    Create a custom workout with only Basket and play with the longest time setting (120s). The 15 goals must be consecutive. Always try to jump when throwing and make sure you are pointing at the PS Eye when throwing.

  • Reach first place in one leaderboard

    There are 2 leaderboards for each exercise: one for score and one for calories. The score ones are pretty much unobtainable now and the calorie ones are getting there. There has been communication with the developers to try and get a monthly reset of the leaderboards, but this has meant to have been happening for months, so it is looking unlikely that this will ever happen. The most likely method to obtain this is by using this method highlighted in the forum:

    Just got the game today and decided to get rid of the most difficult trophy right away. After some thinking (not training) I managed to get it. With the current situation on the leaderboards my hint is:

    1) Don't go for the score - that's nearly impossible.
    2) Choose the exercise with lowest "calories" high score (I picked "throwing")
    3) Instead of doing the exercise just jump and wave your hands like crazy.

    Personally, I took the cheating to the extreme and taped my Move controllers to a drill with a long drill bit and even then only just got it after a few attempts. Although when I did get it, I eased up at the end, so as to not beat the score by too much.

    Edit - I have been informed that the leaderboards now reset monthly but cannot confirm as I no longer have the game. If this is the case earning this trophy should be simple enough either legit or using the shake method for calorie burn.

  • Get 4 time bonuses during one single exercise session

    In some exercises, you will get time bonuses for hitting point levels in the game. Play your preferred exercise from the Exercises menu (my preference was lunges) and try and get as many overdrives as possible (hit as many targets as you can quickly to activate overdrive).

  • Reach 100 goals

    Current Goals are shown on the expandable window on the left hand side of the main menu. You will have to complete all 3 goals in 1 day to receive more goals, if you find you are stCurrent Goals are shown on the expandable window on the left hand side of the main menu.     Achieve 10/20/30 Leg/Arm/Core/Cardio points or complete 3 workouts: The point based goals should be achieved while doing the 10 exercises, if they are not see the Big Legs/Arms/Core/Cardio trophy descriptions for the best exercises to play for maximum points.     • Beat your best score in an exercise
    • Play an exercise 10 times
    • Achieve 10/20/30 points of cardio/legs/core or arms or complete 3 programmes
  • Dodge 30 punches during one session of Sparring

    Create a custom workout with Sparring as the only exercise, playing on the longest time setting (120s). Try to punch all targets and dodge the returns, and also try to hit targets as quick as possible to engage overdrive. In overdrive, you just need to dodge quickly. 30 dodges should be achieved easily enough.

  • Reach 50 goals

    See "Excellent Worker" for further details.

  • Burn 250 calories

    See "Big Burner" for further details.
