|Earn all ModNation™ Racers trophies to unlock this platinum trophy||(5)|
Play an online race
From the ModSpot, drive over to the Race Station and then drive to the Online booth. Play any type of race here to get this trophy.
Complete the qualifier race
The first time you start the game, you will see a cinematic immediately followed by the first career race. This is the qualifier race and all you need to do is finish it and you'll get this trophy.
Create a kart in Kart Studio
In the ModSpot, drive over to the Creation Station and push . When inside, use the left stick to go to Karts and then push and choose New. Do as much or as little customization as you want and then save it. After writing down the name, the trophy will unlock.
|Create a track in Track Studio||(1)|
In the ModSpot, drive over to the Creation Station and push . When inside, use the left stick to go to Tracks and click . You have to choose a theme and then lay the track. Create the track and then save it and the trophy will unlock.
Create a Mod in Mod Studio
In the ModSpot, drive over to the Creation Station and push . When inside, use the left stick to go to Mods and push . Make a new mod, aka character and then save it for the trophy to unlock.
Enter the Shop
In the ModSpot, drive over to the Shop and push . When inside, hit to go into the shop.
Getting To Know You...
|Invite 5 unique friends to an online race||(3)|
From the ModSpot, drive over to the Race Station and then drive to the Online booth and click . Choose 'Host Casual', choose a track and then set privacy to 'Private'. In the lobby, click and then click on the friend you want to invite. Chose 'Invites/Messages' and then 'Invite to Gameroom'. You have to repeat that last step on four more different friends and this trophy will unlock. You only need to invite friends, you don't need to actually race.
I personally had problems getting this trophy to unlock. I therefore went on to challenge random people in the ModSpot. Just drive over to anyone, click , choose 'Challenge' and then set up the race. Repeat this four more times and it should unlock. The one you challenge doesn't need to answer for it to work.
Fill your boost meter
There are a few things that will give you more boost:
Drive over 100 boost pads
Pretty self explanatory. Drive over a total of 100 boost pads and this will unlock. The boost pads are the pads with arrows on them that make you go fast.
Visit all the locations in ModSpot
The ModSpot is where you are when you start the game. In stead of a game menu, it is an actual place where you can drive around. To visit a place, you have to drive to it, and then click . Underneath is all the locations you have to go to:
Do a 1080 spin and land successfully
To get this trophy, you need to spin 3 complete rounds while in the air. There are a few tracks in the game that you can do this one, but they are only available later in the career mode. One of them is called Citadel Heights. I have also made a track called 'Headspinner - 1080 Spin" which you can download by searching for 'Pesico'. The video below shows how to do this.
Try all the game modes in Single Player Race
To get this trophy, you must get to the Race Station and do these type of races:
Showing The World
|Win 10 online races||(1)|
See 'Taking On The World'
Use all the weapons in the game
There are four different weapon types in this game. Each weapon has 3 different levels plus a secondary weapon. You get weapons by driving through the item pods which is the red circular things with UFG written on it. When you drive through an item pod when you don't have any weapons, you get level 1 of one of the four weapon types. If you pick up another item pod, that weapon will increase to level 2, and the next time you pick up an item pod, it will increase to level 3, which is the best level. To get this trophy you need to use all 3 levels plus the secondary weapon of all 4 different weapon types. To fire a weapon, push . To fire a secondary weapon, hold and let go. This will drop a grenade behind you. Below is a list of all 16 different types of weapons you need to use at least once to get this trophy (you don't need to actually hit someone with them).
|Complete all the race tutorials, and watch all the video tutorials||(3)|
This game has tutorials for different modes in the game. Here is a list of tutorials and how to get them:
The Mayhem Tour: None
The Range Tour: Wild Run
The Grim Tour: Modobahn
The Grand Tour: None- Time trial: Go to Quick Race and select Time Trial. There will be a screen that tells you how Time Trials work. I suggest you finish at least one lap to make it count.
- Hot Lap: Drive over to the Hot Lap mode booth in the ModSpot and start a Hot Lap mode. The first time you do this, you'll see a 'How To..' screen showing you the details. Finish at least one map to make sure it counts.
Video tutorials :
You get to the video tutorials by pressing start while in the ModSpot. There is a total of 19 videos divided in 3 sections. Use / to move between the sections. Keep in mind that you have to view the videos from start to finish.
- Creation Station - 4 videos
- Track Studio - 13 videos
- Online - 2 videos
Rate 10 tracks, 10 Mods, and 10 karts
Drive to the Share station and choose download. Click on the creation you want to vote on, set your vote and then click to confirm. The trophy will unlock after you have rated 10 tracks, 10 mods and 10 karts.
Be part of the first race on a published track
The easiest way to get this one is to make a track, publish it and start a casual race. You can have a 2 person casual race, so just invite a friend or wait for someone to join you to get this trophy.
|Earn 100,000 drift points in one drift||(3)|
To get 100 000 drift points in one drift, you basically have to drift for an entire lap in a maxed out track, and since you can't change direction from left to right or vice versa, you need a special track to do so. Either create one yourself or download the track I have published.
|Drift 1,000 times in total||(1)|
Drifting is very important in this game so in time, this should come naturally. You drift by holding . If you want to check how many drifts you have made, push start in the ModSpot and then choose Stats. Amount of drifts is found under 'My Local Stats' and then in the 'Racing' category.
Slow and Steady
Win an action race without using any boost or using a boost pad
In an action race (races with weapons), which can be in both quick race and career, you have to win the race without using boost or driving over a boost pad. You can however use weapons and your shield (deploy it by holding ). Try to build up your boost meter so that you can use the shield by drifting in every corner. If you're closing in to the finish line, shoot the enemies, and if they fire at you, use your shield by pushing . Also, make sure that you don't accidentally hit any of the boost pads as they count as using boost.
Win an action race without firing any weapons
A pretty straight forward trophy. In an action race, which can be in both single race or career, you have to win it without firing any weapons. This includes sideswiping opponents (thanks to DBZ0wnz for that information). It should come pretty easy. Make sure you use your boost for all it's worth and taking every shortcut available to you. Also use the shield (you need boost to do that) when you think you will be hit by an enemies weapon. If you have allready downloaded the track mentioned for "Drifting Superstar", it makes it incredibly easy for this trophy as there are no item pods on that track.
Remix a character, a kart, and a track
This trophy requires you to remix a uploaded character (mod), kart and track. You can remix your own creations (as long as you upload them first) or download other people's creations to remix theirs. When you have saved at least one character, kart and track, the trophy will unlock. If you remix one of your own creations that are uploaded, the game will add the number 2 at the end of the name when you try to save. This is okay, just save it like that.
Win a ranked race series
Drive over to Race Station and then Online and click . Select 'Join XP Race' and change 'Number of Races' to 'XP Series' and then click . An XP Series is five races, and you need to get the highest point total when all races are finished to get this trophy.
Earn at least 1,000 Total XP (including Race XP and Create XP)
See "ModNation™ Star".
Use photo mode in a race, in a studio, or in the ModSpot
In the ModSpot, press start, choose Extras and then Photo Mode. Push L1 to take a photo.
Win your first online action race on a particular published track
To get this trophy, you have to win a race on any track that is published by a user. Easiest way to get this trophy is to create a short track, invite a friend and then race the same track twice so that both of you get one win each to get this trophy.
Get a total of 200 takedowns
Takedowns is when you hit other racers with weapons. 200 takedowns should come in no time. If you want to check how many takedowns you have made, push start in the Modspot and then chose Stats. Amount of takedowns is found under 'My Local Stats' and then in the 'Racing' category.
Sideswipe 75 opponents
To sideswipe an opponent, you need to drive up to the side of him and then push the right stick in that drivers direction. You will need a certain amount of boost in order to pull this off. When you have done this 75 times, the trophy will unlock. If you want to check how many sideswipes you have made, push start in the ModSpot and then chose Stats. Amount of sideswipes is found under 'My Local Stats' and then in the 'Racing' category.
|Publish a kart and have at least 10 people download it||(8)|
After you have created a kart (you do so in the Creation Station), you have to upload it and have 10 people download it. Use the Sharing Boosting thread to get help with this trophy.
|Publish a character and have at least 10 people download it||(8)|
After you have created a character/mod (you do so in the Creation Station), you have to upload it and have 10 people download it. Use the Sharing Boosting thread to get help with this trophy.
|Publish a track and have at least 10 people download it||(7)|
After you have created a track (you do so in the Creation Station), you have to upload it and have 10 people download it. Use the Sharing Boosting thread to get help with this trophy.
Get in the top 10% in Hot Lap Mode on any given day
In the ModSpot, drive over to the Hot Lap Mode screen to start this game mode. Here you will drive on a user created track decided by United Front Games. Your task is to drive fast enough to be in the top 10% of the day. Meaning you have to be among the first 10 000 if 100 000 people take part. Each day will have a new track and new possibilities. Unfortunately, the only info you have is your own time and the top 3 players. You can however see a leaderboard on ModNation homepage, but it doesn't say how many is on the leaderboard. The trophy will unlock the following day along with a message in the game that says you where part of the top 10% in Hot Lap mode.
Join the Team
|Beat all 28 developer lap times in career||(3)|
When you start career races, take a look at the screen that shows the track. It lists the name of the track, best lap and best time. To get this trophy, you have to beat the best lap time on all 28 tracks. If you have raced on the race before, there is no definitive way to see if you have beaten the lap time. You have to look at the time to see if it's round or not.
Earn at least 5,000 Total XP (including Race XP and Create XP)
To get race XP, you need to play XP Races. To get Create XP, you have to upload you creations and have people download, view and race with/on them. See "Star Creator" for more details on Create XP.
Level of Merit
Complete all the career challenges
There are 28 races in career mode and each race has three challenges. Advance, Payoff and Bonus. The Advance challenge has to be completed in order to advance to the next race, and usually consists of getting a top 3 position (except the final race of each series that requires 1st place). The other two challenges usually has two different things you need to do. One being to finish in 1st place and the other to mass up drift points, draft points, drive over boost pads, etc. If there are any specific challenges you have trouble with, check out this thread.
Collect all the tokens in the single player career
Each career race track has 5 tokens you need to find. Sometimes they are easy to spot, while they are more harder to spot on other occasions. Some of them will be up in the air which means you have to jump or double jump. Pushing once let's you jump and pushing it twice in succession lets you make a double jump. Other times the tokens are hidden in shortcuts or even in spaces that you have to shoot a trigger with the button (you need a small amount of boost to do this). By going to the Career central, you can see the tracks and how many tokens you have found on any track. To find the remaining ones, I suggest you start a race and just go slow looking for them.
Taking On The World
|Win 100 Online Races||(2)|
As the trophy says, you need to win 100 online races to get this one. Casual races count, so you can easily boost this trophy with a friend. I do however suggest to try and do this in XP Races as the experience will work towards "ModNation™ Star"
Come 1st in every race in the career
Get in 1st place in every race in the career. If there are any races you have trouble with, you can try changing your 'Driver Style'. I suggest keeping it at +2 drift all the time, but the acceleration/speed slider can be changed. You have to be in the ModSpot to change this. Just push the button to bring up a menu and then push to access 'Driver Style'.
|Earn at least 250,000 Create XP||(11)|
This trophy might be the hardest in the game. I'm not gonna lie, 250,000 Create XP is a lot. Here is a breakdown on how you get Create XP:
Downloads - 5 XP
Races Started - 2 XP
Views - 1 XP
An example would be 42,000 downloads, 12,000 races started and 16,000 views would give you 250,000 Create XP. Which is a lot.
Thanks to John_Mast3r for this info.
So with that in mind, promote your creations to the best of your abilities. There are several sites on the net that will let you promote your creations. Use them for what it's worth.
The following is a possible boosting method, but it will take a lot of time. Just randomize mods and publish them until you hit the maximum uploads (which will increase when you get more Create XP). Then log into an alternate PSN account and download and view all your creations from the alternate PSN account. Do not do it by going into your profile, but simply use the search feature to search for your PSN ID. Going into your profile will only list a limited amount of your Mods. Then log back into your main account. Unpublish and publish all your Mods again and then rinse and repeat.
Achieve level rank 30
Both Race XP and Create XP works towards your rank. To get Race XP, you need to race XP Races/Series. To get Create XP, people need to download, view and use your creations in races. See "Star Creator" for more info on Create XP. If racing is your thing, I suggest you do XP Series races. If you win the series, you'll get a 500XP bonus. Second place overall gets 400XP and so on.
Mayhem Tour Winner
Win the Mayhem Tour
The Mayhem Tour is the second race series. When you win the fourth race in the Mayhem Tour, this trophy will unlock.
Range Tour Winner
Win the Range Tour
The Range Tour is the third race series. When you win the fifth and final race of the tour, this trophy will unlock.
Grim Tour Winner
Win the Grim Tour
The Grim Tour is the fourth race series. When you win the eight and final race of the tour, this trophy will unlock.
Hit 20 opponents with weapons dropped as secondary weapons
When you have a weapon equipped, you can hold the fire button, , and it will fire the secondary weapon which is a grenade you drop behind you. This trophy is very easy and after you hit 20 enemies this way, the trophy will unlock. When you hit an enemy, their picture will pop up on the screen along with 2500 points.
Successfully defend yourself with your shield 20 times
To use a shield, you need to have boost, and preferably lots of it for defending against the toughest weapons. When someone shoots at you, you will hear an alerting sound and there will be a graphic low and in the middle of the screen to warn you. Deploy your shield by holding the button. It will take some practice to get the timing right. My best tip here would be to wait for your mod to look behind before you deploy the shield. If someone from behind shoots the Sonic Rift weapon, wait for it to pass you before you deploy the shield. The Sonic Rift weapon is the one with blue shock waves.
Win Grand Finale
Win the Grand Finale
To get this trophy, you must win the final race of the career mode.
Beat all the Elite racers in the grudge matches
In certain career races, you have the possibility to unlock grudge matches against the Elite player in that race. To unlock a grudge match, you have to complete all 3 challenges of that track. When you do that, you will be asked if you want to participate in the grudge match. Answer yes and then win the grudge matche to get this trophy.
DLC: Far East Tour
Cost: 9.99 Trophies: 7
Ricochet a Straight Shot then hit an opponent on the Great Wall track
While you are on the Great Wall track you will need to get a level 1 Rocket (Red Power Up). Then hang back so you a few people in front of you. Then when you are coming up to a turn or curve in the road shoot your Rocket. It has to bounce off a wall before it hits the opponent.
Hit three opponents with a single Chain Bolt on the Fortress track
While you are on the Fortress track you will need to get a level 2 Chain Bolt (Purple Power Up). Then hang back and keep racing until you see a cluster of at least 3 other racers. When you shoot the electro bolt at them, at least 3 racers have to be hit with that single Chain Bolt.
Follow an opponent into his or her Warp on the Terraced Drop track
While you are on the Terraced Drop track you need to follow behind someone who has a level 3 Warp (Green Power Up). You can't tell what kind of power up someone has so this trophy can be hard. Just keep to the rear of the field, following close behind a group works best. Then when you see the green Warp appear on the track, follow your opponent through it.
Far East Promoter
Host a casual race using a UFG track from the Far East theme
Go to the online menu and click on Host Casual. Then when you see the screen that says My Published Tracks, press to get to UFG Creations. Then choose any of the five Far East Tour tracks. The five tracks are: Great Wall, Hidden Forest, Dragon City, Terraced Drop, and Fortress.
Far East Creator
Create and publish a track using the Far East theme
Click on new track, and when you get to the Theme Select screen choose Far East. Then click lay track and hold down to auto complete the track. It will make the track in the shape of a circle. Then it will ask you to auto populate the track. It does not matter if you do or not. Then press and press exit and save. Go to Share and click on Publish, and the trophy is yours.
Far East Tour Winner
Win the Far East Tour
There are five tracks all together in Far East Tour, and all you have to do is come in 3rd place or better on each of the tracks. The only track that you have to come in first is the last track which is Fortress.
Come 1st in every race, collect all the tokens and complete all the race objectives in the Far East Tour
There are five courses, and you have several things to do on each track. Below is a quick checklist for you to follow thru. Note that I skipped "finish 3rd/1st" as that is already part of the other objectives.
For the spin to count and earn points, your kart needs to be straightened out. Spot #4 has a curved road and you might need to be slightly tilted depending on the spot you land, so it is not very reliable...
DLC: Arctic Tour
Cost: 9.99 Trophies: 7
The Mighty Deflector
Use your shield to defend against a Bolt Storm on Snow Storm City
Easy, just takes a bit of luck for one of your opponents to hit you with the Bolt Storm. Make sure your boost is full so you have enough time to use your shield. The Bolt storm is the level 3 attack of the "Bolt element" where the sky becomes darker and hits all the opponents with lightning. Two controllers may be used to make this trophy easier to earn.
Use your shield to defend against any attack whilst in the air on Downhill Peak
This one needs much luck. I've found a technique that may be easier but it's still not 100%. Be the first driver with a big distance to the 2nd driver. Then when you see on the bottom right map a weapon coming towards your direction try to time it right before you take a jump ramp. I must add that the Sonic Rift weapon goes much slower when you're in the air than the other weapons. (the easiest weapon to defend when you're in the air is the "Bolt Storm").
Hit three opponents with a single Sonic Bomb on Iceberg Edge
I got it on my first try, but it involves also much luck. Right at the beginning, after the first jump, take a power-up and pray the lord it's the sonic bomb weapon. Try looking behind you (or in front of you) to locate where most drivers are and unleash the bomb. More controllers may be used to make this trophy easier to earn or boost with other players.
Host a casual race using a UFG track from the Arctic theme
In the modspot, hit then select one of the players online in the modspot, then choose "challenge". On the next screen select one of the "Arctic Tour" levels and wait until the player you've sent the challenge to accepts it, otherwise invite someone else. Once you have crossed the finish line and the time is over the trophy will pop.
Create and publish a track using the Arctic theme
Go to the "creation studio", create a new track with the "Arctic theme". Hit to auto complete the road (it will ask afterwards to auto populate the track, it doesn't matter what you select here). Then "quit & save" and publish the track.
Arctic Tour Winner
Win the Arctic Tour
Self explanatory, finish the 5 levels in 3rd or better place, you don't need to find any token or win any bonus race objective to obtain this trophy.
Ice Cool Champion
Come 1st in every race, collect all the tokens, and complete all the race objectives in the Arctic Tour
To get this trophy you have to finish all the 5 races first, succeeding with the race objectives and collecting all the tokens on every race (5 tokens / race).
DLC: Big City Tour
Cost: 9.99 Trophies: 7
Use a Supercharger and for the duration of the boost don't hit a wall on Tourist Trap
At the start of the race on Tourist Trap, drive slowly on purpose and stay in 12th place behind your competitors. Usually when you're in last place, your Power Up will be the Supercharge. Upgrade your Jumpstart (Tier 1) to the Supercharger (Tier 2), and unleash it right before you catch air off of the large ramp in the level. When you land, anticipate a sharp right turn, and another right turn. If the turns are correctly anticipated, it's easy to avoid walls during the duration of the Supercharger.
Mind The Mine
Hit an opponent with a level 1 secondary weapon on Gridlock River
While on Gridlock River, when you have a level 1 Power-Up equipped and an enemy behind you, simply hold , and it will fire the secondary weapon. If the secondary weapon connects with an enemy, the trophy will pop.
Air to Air Combat
Hit an opponent in the air with a Swarm on Skyscraper Hop
For this trophy, the timing is absolutely critical. While racing on Skyscraper Hop, acquire the Swarm Power-Up (Tier 2). Ideally, you want a few enemies slightly ahead of you. When they're about to go off of a ramp, unleash the Swarm. If you unleash while they're in the air, the Swarm won't hit them in time, but if you unleash directly before they launch off the ramps, it'll hit them in the air. Luckily, Skyscraper Hop is filled with large jumps (hence the name), so there are many opportunities for you to attempt this.
Big City Promoter
Host a casual race using a UFG track from the Big City theme
While in the Modspot, press and and select a player using . Challenge them to a casual race on one of the UFG Big City tracks. Should they accept, the trophy will pop when the race is complete. If you're having trouble finding people who will accept your challenges, use the Boosting Thread.
Big City Creator
Create and publish a track using the Big City theme
In the Modspot, drive over to the Creation Station and Enter Station using . Create a new track using the Big City theme. Hold down to automatically complete the track, or manually design the track to your liking if you prefer to do so. Once the track is laid, it will ask you if you want to auto populate the track (this makes no difference). Simply quit, save, and publish the track and the trophy will pop.
Big City Tour Winner
Win the Big City Tour
Simply finish in at least third place on the first four Big City Tour tracks, and come in first place on the final Big City Tour track, the aptly-named Skyscraper Hop.
Come 1st in every race, collect all the tokens and complete all the race objectives in the Big City Tour
