    How to unlock I'm Dracula!

    MISSABLE

If at any time you change the difficulty in the options menu or enable the navigation aids by pressing in the map menu, you will not be able to earn this trophy without starting a new playthrough.

Hardcore is unlocked after beating the game once. You start Hardcore with any levels and non-story upgrades you found in your first playthrough so it's in your best interest to 100% the game before you start.

There are no mid-map checkpoints in Hardcore mode so any time you die, you are forced to restart the area from the beginning. Since enemies take off a lot of health, it's in your best interest to avoid any encounters you can. When you have to fight, I found the combo from holding to be very effective against normal enemies and bosses.

    Tips:

    • As Simon, keep your shield up at all times. This essentially gives you a second health bar.
    • As Alucard, use the hourglasses often. With his Mist form if you dash through enemies you can pick up a little health, but the Mana cost is huge. It's useful in a pinch but you are better off using the Wolf form to kill enemies faster.
    • Things start to get difficult in Trevor's chapter. The enemies deal huge amounts of damage. Save your Mana for light magic, which restores your health when you hit an opponent.

  • Oh my God! This is by far the hardest Castlevania yet! Im Not Used to the DS version, so I bought this version for PS3 in HD. Definately getting my money's worth. I love this series.
  • Hardcore mode was fine until the last boss when the difficulty really spiked. Still need to beat him. Also, Reaver was a bit of a pain until I got used to him.
  • The final boss is MUCH easier when you remember that attacks from both parties only do sizable damage when the other color. You can do (small amounts of) damage when you're both blue, but you also heal when you inflict blue damage. I spent days trying to beat Dracula until I noticed this. Then it was 3 attempts to get in the habit of matching the color I was being attacked with.
