Introduction:

The sequel to Metro 2033, and based on the book by the same name, by author Dmitry Glukhovsky, Metro Last Light provides a unique blend of stealth and FPS attributes to provide a gripping story set in this post apocalyptic world. Metro: Last Light gives players the opportunity to go in guns blazing (like Call of Duty) or sneak past enemies to complete your objectives (like you're playing Splinter Cell) and all while providing you with a story similar, although better, than that of its Fallout counterparts.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Play the game on Easy trying to achieve Shadow Ranger and Redemption and enjoy the Game.

I would suggest playing this game killing almost everything in sight while cleaning up some other trophies but since some people are having trouble unlocking Shadow Ranger I highly suggest trying for it on your first playthrough just in case it doesn't unlock. During this playthrough you also want to make sure you make the correct choices and do the right things to unlock the "good" ending, the Redemption trophy, as I feel it is the harder of the two endings to unlock. You'll also want to try and unlock as many of the stealth trophies as possible to try and avoid having to replay some of the Chapters over again later on. Whilst going for the Redemption trophy, avoid all the trophies that involve killing Humans.

Step 2: Play through the game doing the opposite of your good playthrough trying to unlock C'est la vie.

During this playthrough you can shoot and kill anything that moves to unlock the Soldier trophy as well as any of the story related trophies you may not have gotten the first time while going for the "good" ending. This is the step where you can also go for the Kill related trophies like Gunslinger and No Shooting Allowed. Steps 1 and 2 can be reversed if you choose but Step 2 is much easier and far less picky so I recommend them in this order.

Step 3: Clean-up any trophies you may have missed.

In this Step you should clean up any trophies you may have missed, like a stealth chapter or getting a kill with each weapon or if for some reason Shadow Ranger hasn't unlocked for you. By the end of this step you should have a shiny new .

Note: You can use Chapter Select for any of the trophies (excluding ones like Shadow Ranger where you must start a new game to get it) then you must continue playing from that point onwards, else the stats for the trophy you're after will reset and you'll have to start over (this does not affect the Diary trophies).

Metro: Last Light - Ranger Mode DLC:

Overview:

  • Estimated trophy difficulty: 7/10 (Personal opinion)
  • Offline trophies: 2 (1 , 1 )
  • Online trophies: 0
  • Approximate amount of time to 100%: 8-10hrs but this is highly dependant on skill and your luck with avoiding the many glitches that can occur.
  • Minimum number of playthroughs: 1 if you're a Metro Veteran, 2 if you're new to the series.
  • Number of missable trophies: 0
  • Glitched trophies: There are no glitched trophies but this game does have some nasty glitches that can slow you down, see the Glitch Notes for details.
  • Do trophies stack? Yes
  • Does Difficulty Affect trophies? Yes, you must play on the Hardest Difficulty to get both trophies at once.
  • Do cheat codes disable trophies? No cheats available.

Introduction:

The Ranger Mode DLC was originally only available to people who pre-ordered and/or bought the Metro: Last Light Limited Edition but was made available to everyone shortly after release. The reason I say you may have to do 2 playthroughs is if you're new to the Metro series as the game plays very differently in Ranger Mode compared to Original Mode and is harder still on Ranger Hardcore. On Ranger Hardcore difficulty:

- You have no HUD of any kind which also means no Crosshairs or Ammo Counters for your guns.
- Supplies and Military Grade Rounds are much harder to find.
- Both you and the enemies do a lot more damage but you can't take as many hits before dying.
- The A.I is smarter.
- There are no directional damage indicators so you won't know where the enemies are attacking you from.
- You can only carry 2 guns compared to 3 in Original mode.
- There are no hints or tips given.
- There is only limited Auto Aim.
- QTE prompts will no longer appear.
- The amount of ammo you can carry is reduced.

On both DLC difficulties the Firing Range training section is a lot shorter.

I must also state that this DLC is not needed for the Platinum. There was a rumour going around just prior to the launch of Metro: Last Light that you needed these 2 trophies for the but this is false! It should also be noted that this DLC is not part of the Season Pass.

Glitch Notes:

The glitches I touched upon in the Overview can be really nasty if you're not careful but I must stress that not everyone will encounter these issues:

- Trophy list deletion: This bug is relatively rare but now M: LL is available via PS+, more and more people are reporting that their Trophy list for this game gets deleted when the game crashes. The odds of hitting this bug are still low but be prepared as there is a chance you may never get some of your Trophies back. To mitigate any fallout from this bug, quit to the XMB via the :ps: button after every Checkpoint and backup your save to the PS+ Save File Cloud. If you do this DLC at the same time as attempting any of the Main Game trophies (not a good idea) then quit to the XMB after the next Checkpoint and sync your trophies.

- Random freezing: This usually happens at load screens and in the menus but can strike on the XMB seconds after exiting the game. In rare cases the freezing can cause save file corruption. Because the saves for Metro: Last Light are locked, you need either a PS+ Subscription so you can use the Save File Cloud or an external drive you can do a full Hard Drive backup to. The Cloud is the recommended option as then you only have to upload/download 1 file rather than having to backup/restore your entire Hard Drive every time. Playing offline can help ease the amount of freezing. Due to an incredibly nasty bug the Developer Pack introduces, it is now likely your save will delete itself when the game crashes so it is imperative that you make frequent backups.

If you experience any weirdness whatsoever (beyond the intentional moments I mention in the walkthrough), then immediately exit the game and turn off your PS3 as the game could be about to crash.

- A.I pathfinding errors: Very occasionally the A.I will get stuck in/on the scenery or fail to trigger an action. Sometimes you will be able to nudge them enough to correct their pathing but other times you will have to reload either the Checkpoint or in extreme cases, the entire Chapter.

- Checkpoint issues: If you get really unlucky then you can find yourself with limited supplies due to a poorly placed Checkpoint. If you get into a situation like this then use melee kills wherever possible, loot the bodies of the people you kill and pray they have either ammo or another gun. If things get really bad then you will have to decide if you want to restart the entire Chapter or restore a save file backup. If you choose to restore a backup from the Cloud then please note you can only do this once every 24hrs due to the time lock the Cloud imposes on locked saves.

Walkthrough:

Step 1:

If you have experience with this game/series then dive straight into Hardcore difficulty but as a general note I would suggest focusing only on the DLC trophies as trying to get most of the main game trophies will be extremely difficult on this difficulty (Shadow Ranger in particular is all but impossible in Ranger Mode). For the most part the overall difficulty in this DLC isn't that different than in the main game but the difficulty does spike quite badly in places (I will point those out in the accompanying walkthrough).

For newcomers to this game/series I recommend playing through the game once then starting Ranger Mode on the lowest difficulty before moving onto Hardcore.

Step 2: Cleanup

If you started on Ranger difficulty then now is the time to move onto Hardcore difficulty and get the trophy for that.

Metro: Last Light - The Faction Pack DLC:

Road Map:

Overview:

  • Estimated trophy difficulty: 8/10 (Personal opinion)
  • Offline trophies: 6 (6 (B))
  • Online trophies: 0
  • Approximate amount of time to 100%: 3-5hrs, this is strongly dependant on how lucky you get with the trophies for getting 100 kills, 10 headshots and finding all 30 artifacts.
  • Minimum number of playthroughs: 3, one for each Chapter.
  • Number of missable trophies: Technically the 3 non-story related trophies are missable, see the Introduction for details.
  • Glitched trophies: Yes, Homo Homini Lupus Est trophy_bronze.png but see the Glitch Notes below for info on some other issues you may encounter.
  • Do trophies stack?: No
  • Does Difficulty Affect trophies?: Indirectly yes, the main game and Ranger Mode DLC difficulties feed into this DLC and can make life un-necessarily difficult.
  • Do cheat codes disable trophies?: No cheats available.

Introduction:

The Faction Pack is the first of the 4 Season Pass DLCs and sees you playing as a member of the 3 opposing Metro factions i.e the Fourth Reich, the Red Line Communists and the Polis Rangers. There are 3 Chapters in this DLC, 1 for each faction with the shortest being approx 8mins and the longest being just over an 1hr. Each Chapter is designed to provide some back story to certain events in the main game, therefore I strongly advise waiting until you have finished the main game before starting this DLC. To actually start the DLC you need to have the 1.02 patch installed and played at least the first Chapter in the main game, then go: Main Menu => Chapters => press to open the "New Missions" menu.

In the Overview I said technically all 3 non-story related trophies are missable this is because, unlike the main game, the Chapters do not follow on from each other automatically. Changing Chapters before you have the trophies for any given Chapter will wipe your progress thanks to the crappy save system (more on that below).

Glitch Notes

Unfortunately this DLC suffers from some of the same problems as the main game and the Ranger Mode DLC:

- Trophy list deletion: This bug is relatively rare but now M: LL is available via PS+, more and more people are reporting that their Trophy list for this game gets deleted when the game crashes. The odds of hitting this bug are still low but be prepared as there is a chance you may never get some of your Trophies back. To mitigate any fallout from this bug, quit to the XMB via the :ps: button after every Checkpoint and backup your save to the PS+ Save File Cloud. Also, sync your trophies the moment you get them but quit to the XMB to do so as being signed into PSN seems to make the game more unstable.

- Random freezing: Fortunately the Chronicles Pack is far less freeze prone than the other DLCs but it does still happen, albeit much less frequently. The freezing usually happens at load screens and in the menus but can strike on the XMB seconds after exiting the game.

Due to an incredibly nasty bug the Developer Pack DLC introduces, it is now likely your save will delete itself if/when the game crashes so it is imperative you make frequent backups. To reduce the chances of your game crashing and your save disappearing, I strongly recommend exiting directly to the XMB instead of the Main Menu (press the button => Quit Game) as the freezing mainly happens when you try to quit the game.

- Checkpoint issues: It's possible you may get really unlucky and find yourself with limited/no supplies due to a poorly placed Checkpoint. If you get into a situation like this then use melee and stealth moves wherever possible, loot the bodies of the people you kill/knockout and pray they have either ammo or another gun. If things get really bad then you will have to decide if you want to restart the entire Chapter or restore a save file backup. If you choose to restore a backup from the Cloud, then please note you can only do this once every 24hrs due to the time restriction the Cloud imposes on locked saves.

- Auto Save wiping: This problem is exclusive to the Season Pass DLCs. What this means is if you load a save from the main game then exit and play a DLC mission, your main game Auto Save will be wiped and replaced with the one you just created for the DLC. I don't know if this is a bug or just lousy game design but it sucks all the same so ensure you've finished the main game before starting the DLCs.

General notes:

- All the pictures used in this guide were created by myself (Terminator). The copyright on these pictures refers to our site (playstationtrophies.org) and not any others with the same or similar name.

- Even though the trophy descriptions say complete X Level, I'll be calling them Chapters as that's what they're called in-game.

- Do not attempt to play any of the DLC Chapters whilst going for the Ranger Mode DLC trophies, this is because The Faction Pack uses the difficulty from your last save in the main game to determine its own difficulty. Playing on either of the Ranger Mode difficulties will make your life considerably harder so I recommend setting the main game difficulty to Easy.

- The Abzats Heavy Automatic shotgun, RPK and AKSU assault rifle DLC weapons are not available in this DLC (nor are any of the other guns for that matter).

- Since the save system in this game is an Auto Save based one, you must finish up your current Chapter before moving on else you will lose all your progress (unless you have a backup handy).

- Loot every corpse you come across as they will likely contain vital supplies (does not apply to the (ASSAULT INFANTRY/Heavy Squad Chapter).

- Watch your step in the KSHATRIYA and SNIPER TEAM Chapters as there are lots of traps and setting them off can bring a lot of enemies to your position.

- As with the main game and the Ranger Mode DLC, your health will regenerate over time if you take damage so hide (if possible) until it recovers.

- You do not need the Season Pass to get the Faction Pack, Tower Pack, Developer Pack or Chronicles Pack DLCs but you will get a hefty discount if you do.

- You cannot get any of the main game trophies in this DLC so don't waste your time trying as it won't work (credit to DeividHasselhoff) for confirming this.

- All the controls mentioned in this guide are based on the default settings.

- The difficulty for this defaults to Normal so change it ASAP but you will have to reach a checkpoint for the change to save.

Walkthrough:

You can do these Steps in any order but the way I've set them out is, IMO, the most efficient .

Step 1: Clear the ASSAULT INFANTRY/Heavy Squad Chapter
For this step you will be going for Hail Reich! and Homo Homini Lupus Est. I say do these two now as this Chapter is the first one in the Chapter Select menu and because Homo Homini Lupus Est is the hardest trophy in the DLC.

Step 2: Clear KSHATRIYA
Here you will be getting Kshatriya and Artifact. This Step is the longest one as there is no fast way of getting to all the artifacts and some of them are fiddly/dangerous to get to. Unfortunately there is no in-game map so you will need a good memory to remember how to get back to the various buildings and basements.

Step 3: Clear SNIPER TEAM
Saboteur and Sniper are the final trophies you need to get in this DLC but unfortunately Sniper is glitched and may not unlock when it should, see the guide for advice on how to get this should it glitch.

Step 4: Clean up if necessary
You may not need this Step but if you do then use it to get any trophies you might not have unlocked.

Metro: Last Light - Tower Map Pack DLC

Road Map:

Overview:

  • Estimated trophy difficulty: 5/10 (personal opinion)
  • Offline trophies: 2 (2 )
  • Online trophies: 0
  • Approximate amount of time to 100%: 2-4hrs+ but this is highly dependant on skill and luck.
  • Minimum number of playthroughs: 1
  • Number of missable trophies: 1, Willpower
  • Glitched trophies: None specifically but see the Glitch Notes for some bugs that can mess up your game.
  • Does difficulty affect trophies?: Indirectly yes, the main game and Ranger Mode DLC difficulties feed into this DLC and can make life unnecessarily difficult so play on Easy.
  • Do trophies stack?: No.
  • Do cheat codes disable trophies?: There are no cheats.

Introduction:

The Tower Pack is the second of the 4 Season Pass DLCs and sees you playing the part of an unknown soldier in an unspecified point in the Metro storyline. Your character has been given the job of trying out a new combat simulator that your superiors believe will help better train and prepare the rest of their troops. Due to the vague nature of the story and lack of any real connection to either of the Metro games, it doesn't matter when you play this as it won't spoil the story for either game. The Tower Pack DLC consists of 5 missions of increasing difficulty and has you fighting against Waves of increasingly dangerous and hostile enemies but with a little skill and luck, you can beat them. Whilst there are online leaderboards available in this DLC (press => Leaderboards), there are no online trophies. I've said 2-4hrs+ for the time to 100%, because the difficulty can go up steeply in places and the potential glitches you can run into will stretch out how long it takes to finish this DLC. The difficulty for this is a 5/10 because it can be easy but when it's hard, it gets really hard.

To actually start the DLC you need the 1.02 patch installed and have played at least the first Chapter in the main game, then go: Main Menu => Chapters => press to open the "New Missions" menu. The DLC Chapters do not automatically follow on from each other therefore changing Chapters before you have the trophies for any given Chapter, will wipe your progress thanks to the poor save system (more on that below).

Glitch Notes:

Unfortunately, this DLC suffers from some of the same problems as the main game and the other trophy DLCs:

- Trophy list deletion: This bug was relatively rare but now Metro: Last Light is available via PS+, more and more people are reporting that their Trophy list for this game gets deleted when the game crashes. The odds of hitting this bug are still low but be prepared if it does as there is a chance you may never get some of your trophies back. To mitigate any fallout from this bug, sync your trophies the moment you get them but quit to the XMB to do so as being signed into PSN seems to make the game more unstable.

- Random freezing: The freezing usually happens at load screens and in the menus but can strike on the XMB seconds after exiting the game. In rare cases the freezing can cause save file corruption. Because the saves for Metro: Last Light are locked, you need either a PS+ Subscription so you can use the Save File Cloud or an external drive you can do a full Hard Drive backup to. The Cloud is the recommended option because then you only have to upload/download 1 file, rather than having to backup/restore your entire Hard Drive every time.

Due to an incredibly nasty bug that the Developer Pack DLC introduces, it is now likely your save will delete itself if/when the game crashes so it is imperative you make frequent backups. To reduce the chances of your game crashing and your save disappearing, I strongly recommend exiting directly to the XMB instead of the Main Menu (press the button => scroll down to "Quit Game" => press => select "Yes") as the freezing mainly happens when you try to quit the game. Ideally you want to backup your save inbetween missions so you don't lose so much progress should your save get wiped.

- Checkpoint issues: Unlike the other trophy DLCs and the Main Game, in The Tower Pack you can only save between missions but having a save here will still wipe your save from the main game or the other trophy DLCs so back it up to the Cloud before starting.

I don't know if this is a bug or just lousy game design but it sucks all the same so ensure you've finished the main game before starting the story DLCs.

- Gamma (brightness) issues: The Gamma in this game is really bad at times, even with the in-game Gamma maxed out so I advise you also turn up the Gamma/Brightness of your TV to enable you to see better.

- Double shot glitch: This glitch only seems to happen in The Chronicles and Tower Pack DLCs. For some unknown reason the Revolver and sometimes the Shambler and Duplet as well, will occasionally fire 2 shots instead of 1. This can be beneficial if you're going up against a tough enemy like a Heavy Trooper but more often than not it's a hindrance as you'll burn through your ammo that bit faster.

General notes:

  • Even though the trophy descriptions say complete X Level, I'll be calling them Chapters because that's what they're called in-game.
  • Since the save system in this game is an Auto Save based one, you must finish your current Chapter before moving on else you will lose all your progress (unless you have a backup handy).
  • As with the main game and the other trophy DLCs, your health will regenerate over time after you take damage so hide (if possible) until it recovers.
  • I'm unsure if you can get any of the trophies from the main game whilst playing this DLC, if you can then please let me know.
  • All the controls mentioned in this Guide are based on the default settings.
  • Even with the Season Pass and every DLC installed, the only DLC Weapons you will have available are the RPK Assault Rifle and the Hellbreath Railgun.
  • Unlike the main game and the other Story DLCs, in the Tower Pack your compass will not work. I don't know if this is a glitch or a weird design choice but it's still worth mentioning.
  • This Guide cannot be used with the Redux version of the Tower Pack due to design differences and because the trophy list is completely different, plus there is an exploit which can only be used in that version that doesn't work on the PS3.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Get the Willpower trophy

Willpower is the easier of the 2 Tower Pack DLC trophies but it's also missable because if you finish this DLC before getting it, then you will have to start a new game from scratch to have another go at it. There isn't much I can really say about this but the best place I've found to get it is in mission 4 where you'll only be facing humans and not mutants. You will have just 3 chances to get this trophy as only missions 2-4 and have a HUGE mission.

Step 2: Get the Test Complete trophy

Since Test Complete is story related, you can't miss it unless you get hit by one of the numerous bugs that this game unfortunately has.

Step 3: Clean up

Should anything bad happen to your save, then you can use this Step to get whichever trophy it was you were working on at the time.

Metro: Last Light - The Developer Pack DLC

Overview:

  • Estimated trophy difficulty: 5/10 (personal opinion)
  • Offline trophies: 4 (4)
  • Online trophies: 0
  • Approximate amount of time to 100%: 4hrs+.
  • Minimum number of playthroughs: 2, one for each Chapter.
  • Number of missable trophies: 2, Arachnophobia and Developer.
  • Glitched trophies: Technically all of them due to the save file deletion bug but it's mainly Arachnophobia and Developer that may be a bit dodgy. Also see the Glitch Notes below for additional bugs.
  • Does difficulty affect trophies?: Indirectly yes, the main game and Ranger Mode DLC difficulties feed into this DLC and can make life very difficult so play on Easy.
  • Do trophies stack?: No.
  • Do cheat codes disable trophies?: There are no cheats.

Introduction:

The Developer Pack is the third of the 4 Season Pass DLCs and sees you playing as 2 unnamed soldiers. In the first Chapter (SPIDER LAIR) you get separated from your two team-mates and awaken sometime later hanging upside-down in an unknown part of the Metro and encased in some kind of spider's webbing. The second Chapter (Developer Pack) sees you arrive at an unnamed training facility somewhere in the Metro, here you have a standard SHOOTING RANGE with fixed and living targets along with a live fire ARENA. In both cases it's just you versus hordes of enemies and you have limited ammo. The Shooting Range isn't very hard since it's difficult for enemies to hurt you but the Arena is a whole different matter since the scenery is destructible and enemies will do anything to find and kill you.

The reason for the 4hrs+ time to 100% is that it takes roughly an hour to finish the SPIDER LAIR Chapter, you have to spend 3hrs in the Developer Pack Chapter to get the Developer trophy and there's the possibility that both it and the Arachnophobia trophies are glitched as well as being missable but I will explain more about those in the Guide under the respective trophies. I gave this a 5/10 for difficulty because when it's easy it's really easy but when it's hard, it's really hard.

The first Chapter is designed to provide some back story to certain events in the main game, therefore I strongly advise waiting until you have finished the main game before starting the SPIDER LAIR. The Developer Pack Chapter is meant more for testing your skills then telling a story so you can do it at any time without spoiling the main game. To actually start the DLC you need to have the 1.02 patch installed and played at least the first Chapter in the main game, then go: Main Menu => Chapters => press to open the "New Missions" menu. The Chapters do not automatically follow on from each other, therefore changing Chapters before you have the trophies for any given Chapter will wipe your progress thanks to the poor save system (more on that below).

The Cloud is the recommended option because then you only have to upload/download 1 file, rather than having to backup/restore your entire Hard Drive every time. Playing offline can help ease the amount of freezing, though it won't prevent it from happening.

- Checkpoint issues: It's possible you may get unlucky and find yourself with limited/no supplies due to a poorly placed Checkpoint. If you get into a situation like this then use melee and stealth moves wherever possible, loot the bodies you find and pray they have either filters, ammo or another gun. If things get really bad then you will have to decide if you want to restart the entire Chapter or restore a save file backup. If you choose to restore a backup from the Cloud, then please note you can only do this once every 24hrs due to the time restriction the Cloud imposes on locked saves.

I don't know if this is a bug or just lousy game design but it sucks all the same so ensure you've finished the main game before starting the DLCs.

- Gatling gun jamming: This is a highly irritating bug that can prove fatal if it happens during the later waves of the SHOOTING RANGE and ARENA. I recommend not using this weapon at all since it eats ammo for Breakfast and takes ages to spin-up, even when using the pre-spin function (press and hold ). There is no fix for this glitch other than starting restarting the Chapter from scratch because even replacing the gun then picking it up again won't fix the problem.

- Gamma (brightness) issues: The Gamma in this game is really bad at times, even with the in-game Gamma maxed out so I advise you also turn up the Gamma/Brightness of your TV to enable you to see better.

Walkthrough:

Steps 1+2 are interchangeable, I've only listed them the way I have because then they're in the same order as in the New Missions menu.

Step 1: Complete the SPIDER LAIR Chapter and get the Arachnophobia trophy as well

The SPIDER LAIR Chapter isn't hard but it's very glitchy and freeze prone so save and make backups after every couple of Auto Saves. Arachnophobia is possibly glitched as I had to kill 40+ spiders before the trophy popped but I've also been told that only certain types of spider count so any extra clarification would be appreciated.

Step 2: Get the Specialist and Developer trophies

Here is where you will be spending the majority of your time in this DLC.

The SHOOTING RANGE isn't hard but the last couple of waves can be tricky since the A.I is pretty accurate. The ARENA is much harder due to the increasingly aggressive/accurate A.I and limited ammo but is still doable providing you take your time and don't go in guns blazing. Since there is no fast way to get the Developer trophy, you will have to take your time doing the SHOOTING RANGE and ARENA Challenges but you can also pay a visit to the Museum and look at all the used and unused concepts for the game.

You can do the SHOOTING RANGE or the ARENA first as they're both unlocked from the start but I recommend doing the ARENA second so you have a chance to get used to the weapons and controls.

Step 3: Clean up

You will only need this Step if Arachnophobia and Developer glitch or something bad happens to your save.

Metro: Last Light - The Chronicles Pack DLC

Road Map:

Overview:

  • Estimated trophy difficulty: 2/10 (Personal opinion)
  • Offline trophies: 6 (6)
  • Online trophies: 0
  • Approximate amount of time to 100%: 1-2hrs
  • Minimum number of playthroughs: 4, 1 for each Chapter + 1 clean up if needed.
  • Number of missable trophies: 3, Safe Cracker, Hunting and Eagle Eye.
  • Glitched trophies: None but see the Glitch Notes for info on some game-breaking bugs that will make getting the trophies that much harder.
  • Does difficulty affect trophies?: Indirectly yes, the main game and Ranger Mode DLC difficulties feed into this DLC and can make life unnecessarily difficult so play on Easy.
  • Do trophies stack?: No
  • Do cheat codes disable trophies?: There are no cheats.

Introduction:

The Chronicles Pack is the last of the 4 Season Pass DLCs and sees you playing as Pavel, Khan, Uhlman (one of Khan's friends) and Anna in 3 Chapters set before and during certain key parts of the main game. Each Chapter is designed to provide some back story to events in the main game, therefore I strongly advise waiting until you have finished the main game before starting this DLC to avoid spoilers. To actually start the DLC you need the 1.02 patch installed and have played at least the first Chapter in the main game, then go: Main Menu => Chapters => press to open the "New Missions" menu.

In the Overview I said all 3 non-story related trophies are missable. This is because, unlike the main game, the Chapters do not follow on from each other automatically. Changing Chapters before you have the trophies for any given Chapter will wipe your progress thanks to the poor save system (more on that below). None of the the trophies in this DLC are especially hard to get, hence the 1-2hr completion time.

Glitch Notes

Unfortunately this DLC suffers from some of the same problems as the main game and the other story DLCs:

- Trophy list deletion: This bug is relatively rare but now M: LL is available via PS+, more and more people are reporting that their Trophy list for this game gets deleted when the game crashes. The odds of hitting this bug are still low but be prepared as there is a chance you may never get some of your Trophies back. To mitigate any fallout from this bug, quit to the XMB via the button after every Checkpoint and backup your save to the PS+ Save File Cloud.

- Double shot glitch: This glitch only seems to happen in The Chronicles and Tower Pack DLCs. For some unknown reason the Revolver (both silenced and unsilenced variants) will occasionally fire 2 shots instead of 1, this can be beneficial if you're going up against a tough enemy like a Heavy Trooper but more often than not it's a hindrance as you'll burn through your ammo that bit faster.

- Do not attempt to play any of the DLC Chapters whilst going for the Ranger Mode DLC trophies, this is because The Chronicles Pack uses the difficulty from your last save in the main game to determine its own difficulty. Playing on either of the Ranger Mode difficulties will make your life considerably harder so I recommend setting the main game difficulty to Easy.

- None of the DLC weapons from the other expansions nor the Heavy Automatic shotgun you get from the Season Pass are available in The Chronicles Pack.

- Since the save system in this game is an Auto Save based one, you must finish your current Chapter before moving on else you will lose all your progress (unless you have a backup handy).

- Loot every corpse you come across as they will likely contain vital supplies.

- As with the main game and the Ranger Mode DLC, your health will regenerate over time if you take damage so hide (if possible) until it recovers.

- You do not need the Season Pass to get the Faction Pack, Tower Pack, Developer Pack or Chronicles Pack DLCs but will get a hefty discount if you do and a free gun (the ABZATS Heavy Automatic shotgun).

- I'm unsure if you can get any of the trophies from the main game whilst playing this DLC, if you can then please let me know.

- All the controls mentioned in this guide are based on the default settings.

Walkthrough:

I've setup the Steps the way I have, because this way they are in the order the events happen in the story but can be done in any order you like .

Step 1: Complete the Anna Chapter
Here you will be getting The Sunset of Hope and Eagle Eye, neither are difficult but Eagle Eye may take a couple of tries to get right. The only tricky section is near the end of the Chapter but see the guide for details on that.

Step 2: Complete the Pavel Chapter
In this Chapter you will be getting Heads Up! and Safe Cracker. The only trophy in this Step you may have trouble with is Safe Cracker as some of the safes boxes and keys are in easy to miss places.

Step 3: Complete the Khan Chapter
Now you want to get No Way Out and Hunting out the way, neither are hard but the level design for the Khan Chapter is really bad which will make getting the Hunting trophy difficult.

Step 4: Clean up if necessary
Use this Step if you happen to be missing any trophies, the only one you may be missing is Safe Cracker as it's difficult to get without a guide.

71 trophies ( 11  56  11  )

  • Get all Trophies

Unlock all the non-DLC trophies to get this shiny new Platinum.

  • Kill 100 Human Enemies.

Simply kill 100 Human enemies and the trophy. If you play through the game killing every human it should come in no time. Do not go for this trophy if you are trying to get Shadow Ranger.

  • Kill 100 Mutants.

Simply kill every Mutant enemy you see and this will come by the time you finish your first playthrough. Mutants include Watchmen, Spiders, Shrimps and Demons.

  • Stealthily kill 15 Enemies.

For this trophy you have to stealthily kill 15 enemies in a row, I found the easiest way to do this was by using Throwing Knives to get the kills. The Facility Chapter and the beginning of the Revolution Chapter are two easy places to unlock this trophy.

  • Set 2 Enemies on fire at once.

To unlock this trophy you must set two enemies on fire at exactly same time. See the video below for more information:

You can also try this method provided by SeiBei4211:
The spot where I got it to finally work was on Revolution. In the first big room (where the guys are talking about burning rats), head to the opposite side of the room where the campfire is. Wait for a third person to walk up to the fire and throw an incendiary grenade right in the middle. I got it first try that way, although I can't guarantee those results.

  • Break 50 Lights.

Shoot out or Knife 50 light bulbs and this trophy is yours. If you're breaking every light bulb you see, this will come fairly early in the game.

  • Turn off 40 Lights without breaking them.

Turn off every light bulb you see by pressing when given the option, do not break them. You cannot turn off the same lightbulb 40 times, it has to be 40 unique ones. This trophy will come fairly early on in the game.

  • Disarm 10 Traps.

Disarm 10 Traps and this trophy is yours. All 10 must come in one playthrough, you can get this through Chapter Select.

    FACILITY:

#1 - You will come to a section where you need to pull a switch to open a door to exit. Once you exit through the door you will drop down to the right into a brief tunnel section. Most likely everyone knows about this one (I ran smack dab into it my first playthrough) but it's between the point where you jump down and the ladder.

SUNDOWN (for description purposes the ferry winch will be at the northern most area of the map):

#2 - When you begin the level you will see a white box truck directly in front of you in a small yard. Go straight ahead and around the shed to the right to get to the rear of the truck.

#3 - From the truck you want to head to the other side of the yard ("west") and look for a shed with a car on its side semi-blocking the door.

#4 - "West" of the gas station is another row of buildings. Almost directly across from the gas pumps, which should be to your right, there is a trap blocking a hole that you can crouch and crawl through.

    NIGHTFALL:

#5 - When you get off the ferry, go straight to the building in front of you and go up the concrete ramp. In that main room is a trap very near where you enter.

#6 - From the same level of the building, turn around and make your way to the right side (looking from the ramp it's the left side of the building's upper floor) to find another trap before you get to a closed door.

#7 - You will eventually reach a building where you go up an escalator. At the top of the escalator, look to the right to find the trap connected from the top of the escalator to the left wall.

#8 - Immediately after and to the left of the last trap another one is blocking an open room.

#9 - Just to the right of the last trap and also connected to the escalator and the wall is this trap.

    DEPOT:

#10 - As soon as the level begins you can travel all the way down the left side of the map to a broken wall which will lead to a large shed/garage. The trap is at the shed/garage door so do not run into the building.

Credit to ZenVan for the list of traps.

There are also three others that you can disarm, one in Contagion and two in Dead City. The first one in Dead City is in the house to the right with the recording, the second one is after you go down the hole with the slide if you turn around and go to the back of the room there is a room at the top of some stairs and a trap at the top of them. The Trap location in Contagion:

In Contagion in the room to the left of the Railcar where the enemy loading boxes is coming and going, there is a hole in the back wall that leads to an abandoned tunnel. The hole is partially blocked but you can move left and out into the tunnel. Head straight across from the hole to the green light on the opposite wall and turn right, at the water line is an ammo cache. Open it.

The Trap is near the cache.

Credit to the Metro Wiki for this quote and dante_kinkade for giving me the Dead City locations.

  • Make 100 Purchases.

Simply make 100 purchases and this trophy is yours. If you use the trick during the Bandit Chapter to keep selling guns you can also buy a grenade, sell it, back out of the menu and then repeat the procedure for an easier way to unlock the trophy. See the Walking Bank trophy for more info on the Bandit Chapter trick.

An alternate method is to buy a Throwing Knife as they only cost 1 MGR each. Hold the Joypad correctly then you can alternately and quickly press and with your Middle and Index fingers until the trophy pops (which should take about 30secs if you press the buttons fast enough).

  • Collect 1000 Military Rounds.

During the Chapter "Bandits" there will be a merchant that you can sell guns to, further on in the mission there are a lot of enemies with high value guns. Kill the enemies, pick up the guns then run back and sell them to the merchant and you should be at a 1000 in no time. The key to getting this trophy is to not buy anything or spend/use any MGRs unless you absolutely have to do, just scavenge what you need.

  • Use all Musical Instruments in the game.

    *Missable*
You must play all 17 instruments in one playthrough for this trophy to unlock, you cannot get this through Chapter Select. To play an instrument simply walk up to it and press when the prompt comes up, you only need to press once per instrument. The locations for the instruments are as follows:

    1) In Sparta - Guitar in the starting room.
    2) In Sparta - By the guys playing checkers/Draughts, it's on a chair.

    14) In Contagion - after entering the area where you have to put on your mask head to the left and there will be a room with some guys and a wooden structure in the center, it's under the counter in the center.
    15) From the note in Contagion head out of the room and to the left, it's on a chair down at the end.
    16) In Quarantine after Khan gets you through the gate with the permit, the guitar is to the left on the floor.

  • Complete training sequence.

Story Related Cannot Be Missed. This will unlock in the first Chapter, Sparta, after you complete your basic training.

  • Finish the ASHES level without taking a hit.

This takes place in the second Chapter, Ashes. Do not get hit by any of the Watchmen and this trophy will unlock at the end of the chapter. See the video below for a full walkthrough:

  • Escape the chasing Nazis on the REICH level without being caught once.

This takes place on the Reich Chapter, when you start running all you have to do is make the jump and you will get this without a problem. See the video below for a full walkthrough:

  • Complete the SEPARATION level without killing or raising alarm.

Complete the Separation Chapter without killing anyone or raising an alarm and this trophy will unlock at the end of the Chapter. This means you cannot sneak up behind anyone and press , you need to hit to knock them out. Do this for every guard in your way and you shouldn't have too many problems. See the video below for a good path to follow:

  • Take the Custom Pistol from the Locked Box.

At the beginning of the Facility Chapter you will drop down into a room, head to the end and make a right and then another right and follow the wall down to the end. Here you will hear two guys talking about a Pistol. Eventually one will walk over to the intercom then walk back to his locker to check on the Pistol, simply follow him back to his locker and knock him out after he opens it. As soon as you pick up the gun, the trophy will unlock.

  • Complete the FACILITY level without killing or raising alarm.

You must complete the Facility Chapter without killing anyone or raising an alarm, this mean you cannot sneak up behind enemies and press . As long as you turn off every light bulb and only knock out the guards that are in your way, this shouldn't be too much of a hassle. See the video below for a good path to follow to obtain this trophy:

  • Make 10 Spiders flip belly-up.

Starting in the Chapter "Torchlight" you will come across Spiderbugs (these are the Spiders the description speaks of) that flip over when you shine your flashlight on them, do this for 10 of them and the trophy is yours. You will most likely not unlock this in Torchlight but rather later on in the game.

  • Complete the ECHOES level undetected by the Watchmen.

You will come to a point in the Echoes Chapter where Pavel tells you to wait behind him. After walking up a huge flight of stairs, as long as you do what he says, this trophy will pop right after.

  • Watch the entire Theater Show.

During the chapter Bolshoi, Pavel will get you into the Theater where a show is going on, sit in the only available empty seat and wait for the show to end and the trophy will pop right afterwards. Warning: Stay away from the stage or Pavel will force you into the back room and you will not get the trophy. The show lasts about 10 mins.

  • Kill all armed enemies on the REVOLUTION level, including all reinforcements.

You must kill every enemy on the Revolution Chapter for this trophy to unlock, including the enemies that only show up after you’ve cleared out an entire room. Make sure you also clear the rooms where the diary page is and the mechanics bay connected to it. If you're going for Shadow Ranger then I recommend using Chapter Select to get it, otherwise just shoot every guard you see. You do not have to shoot the two civilians in the redish colored hard hats that are just cowering.

  • Complete the REVOLUTION level without killing and raising an alarm.

Complete the Revolution Chapter without killing anyone or raising and alarm and this trophy will unlock at the end of the chapter. This means you cannot sneak up behind anyone and press , you need to hit to knock them out. Do this for every guard that's in your way and you shouldn't have too many problems. See the video below for a good path to follow to obtain this trophy:

  • Kill all Watchmen before they reach the Railcar.

Near the end of the Chapter "Regina" you will come to a section where you will have to push a Train Carriage and Watchmen will attack you from behind, kill all of them before they jump on Regina and the trophy is yours. Earlier In the chapter there will be a wooden barricade you can drive Regina through, at the end of the tunnel to the left there will be an Assault Rifle with a scope that I highly recommend using. The Watchmen will usually come at you in packs of two or three so as soon as you kill them reload. It's also a good idea to change your Air Filter before starting this. As Seibei4211 pointed out, there is also a Shambler in a side room close by that would be helpful to have as a secondary weapon just in case. Note: The Watchmen can jump on the Railcar but it can only be the back of it, they cannot jump on the front of Regina.

  • Rescue the Women and Children on the BANDITS level without raising alarm.

The requirements for this trophy begin after you open the door at the end of the tunnel that is lit by torches. Once through this door you can no longer kill anyone or raise an alarm. This means you cannot sneak up behind anyone and press , you need to hit to knock them out. Do this for every guard that's in your way or just bypass them and you shouldn't have a problem. See the video below for a good path to follow:

  • Soup

    Kill 5 Shrimp with Grenades.

The best Chapter to get this trophy is in Sundown. Keep running around the map and you should get more than five to spawn, 2 or 3 usually spawn when you get near the door of the airplane. The big armored Shrimps with claws do not count for this trophy and you cannot get this by restarting the checkpoint. Thank you to Seibei4211 for confirming this. You have to get either five consecative or five at once else the stats will reset and you will have to do it all over again.

  • Find and return the crying child's Teddy Bear.

During the Chapter "Venice", there will be a mini-game in the city you can play where you need to shoot some rats within the time limit, complete all three rounds and you'll receive the teddy bear. After receiving it follow the path around to the right and you will see a mother and a crying child, give him the bear and the trophy will pop. An AK with the Reflex Sight works best and if you have the Extended Magazine as well then you won't have to reload as often. Also, the number of waves goes up with each round. Round 1 you have 1 wave, Round 2 you have 2 waves and Round 3 you have 3 waves. Each wave has about 6 Rats in it and will change position if you take too long to kill them, the time limit is really strict. The cost of each round goes up as well and quite sharply, the final round will set you back 45 MGRs.

  • Fall in the Swamp 10 times.

The earliest you can get this is in the Chapter "Sundown", simply fall in the Swamp 10 times and the trophy is yours. The second time you fall in you will die, to avoid this make sure you avoid falling in the same spot twice. Repeat until the trophy pops.

  • Find all Equipment Stashes in the swamps.

This trophy takes place over the Chapters "Sundown" and "Nightfall", if you've collected them all this trophy will pop after you jump out of the building in Nightfall and loot the white truck. A useful tip is to max out the Gamma settings as the areas where the ammo are hidden are extremely dark, which makes locating them very difficult. See the video below for all the equipment locations:

  • Find the Hidden Ammo in the abandoned part of the station on the QUARANTINE level.

    1) The first stash is directly to your right through the window.
    2) Go down the stairs and into the orange mist, the second one is just to the left at the end of the very short hallway.
    3) From the second one continue a few steps further down the path and you'll see a broken red window pane on your right, it's in there.
    4) Continue down the path, you'll pass a guy standing in a booth and will make a right turn out of the Orange mist; the final stash is in the window on your right just at the end of the Orange mist.

  • Kill all the Reds on the THE CHASE level.

During the Chase chapter you will be in a Railcar with Reds shooting at you from other Railcars and the train, you must kill every one of them to unlock this trophy. This includes the ones while you're in the little car and while you're on the train. This trophy will pop when you kill the Shotgun wielding guy in the last carriage.

  • Kill a Demon with the Helsing.

This is most easily obtained in the Dead City Chapter, you will be able to pick up a Helsing there and there is a Demon on top of a roof that you have to climb a ladder to get to. Demons are extremely hard to kill so you will have to whittle down it's health before you can kill it with the Helsing. Note: Killing this Demon counts toward the bad ending so I suggest getting it through Chapter Select if you’re going for the good ending. For an even faster method follow the video below:

  • Complete the BRIDGE level without a kill.

Just basically run through the entire chapter without shooting anything to get the trophy, it's good to also have some medkits just in case you get stuck somewhere. You can probably get through this entire level stealthily but it's not really needed and its much faster to just keep sprinting as you can see in the video:

  • See all Visions in the Dead City.

You must see all 7 of the visions in Dead City to obtain this trophy, some you have to see as part of the story and others you will have to trigger on your own.

  • Hold the Platform without dying.

During the D6 chapter you will have to hold off the enemy, do so without dying to unlock this trophy. I recommend playing on Easy and keeping your head down as much as possible, know that there are ammo crates around as well as a mini gun. If you're taking too much damage just hide and heal yourself, also remember to use your grenades. This trophy is pretty easy and shouldn't give you too much trouble. If you want you can actually do this during your Shadow Ranger playthrough as most of the enemies don't bother shooting at you.

  • Kill 10 enemies in a row with Throwing Knives.

A good Chapter for this would be Bandits, there is a merchant at the beginning so you can buy throwing knives if you need them or run out and there are usually only two or three enemies together at a time meaning you won't have to worry about 10 people shooting you at once.

  • Kill at least one Enemy with each Weapon available in the game.

For "Gunslinger" you can actually find most of the weapons just lying around and there's no need to buy any of them, here's a list:

Trench Knife – Given to you.
Throwing Knives – Given to you in Pavel or available via Merchants and lying around in certain Chapters, most notably Pavel and Bandits.
Revolver – Available at the Merchant in Sparta, also found on various skeletons and wielded by certain enemies.
Ashot (Single shot pistol) – Available at the Merchant in Quarantine, also found on various skeletons and wielded by certain enemies. The earliest this can be found is in Torchlight on a Skeleton.
Lolife (Semi-auto pistol) – Available at the Merchant in Bandits or via the "A Present" Trophy.
Bastard (SMG) - Available at the Merchant in Sparta, also found and wielded by certain enemies. The earliest you can get this is in Chapter "Pavel".
Kalash (AK-47) - Available at the Merchant in Sparta, This is a common weapon and dropped by most enemies.
Kalash 2012 (P90) – Available at the Merchant in Undercity and Quarantine, also found at the Gas Station in Sundown.
VSV (SMG) – Available at the Merchant in D6, the earliest you can find this is in the Bridge Chapter in one of the collapsed sub-levels
Valve (Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle) - Available at the Merchant in Sparta, also found in various levels and on a skeleton in Red Square.
Preved (The other Sniper Rifle) – Available at the Merchant in Depot and in Wave 2 of D6
Saiga 12 (AA-12 Shotgun) – Available at the Merchant in Undercity, Also carried by the enemies in the Chase Chapter
Shambler (6-round shotgun) - Available at the Merchant in Sparta and Bandits. The earliest you can find this is in a side room in the Chapter prior to "Bandits".
Duplet (Double Barrel shotgun) – Available at the Bolshoi Merchant, the earliest this can be found is in the Side Room Khan tells you to check in the Echoes level. A Quad Barrel version can be found in the Undercity level on a skeleton (it's also a Moral Point)
Helsing (Fires arrows) – Buyable at merchant in Quarantine or found in Dead City and the level just prior to the Bridge.
Tikhar (Pneumatic Sniper Rifle of sorts) – Available in Bolshoi Marketplace, also found in the Revolution Chapter in the room where some infected people are being executed.
Minigun – Only available for pickup at the end of the D6 Chapter.
Standard Grenade - Available at any Merchant after Sparta.
Incendiary Grenade - Available at any Merchant after Sparta.
Claymore - Available at any Merchants later in the game. Both Grenade types and the Claymores can be found scattered around most levels but are particularly common in the Sundown Chapter.

Also, the Flamethrower guy at the end of D6 does not count towards this trophy.

Credit to Brandon_2535 and Seibei4211 for giving me the list and the names of the guns.

  • Install all possible Customizations for a Weapon.

Choose any weapon then buy and install all of the upgrades for them. An easy way to get this is Chapter Select to D6, head to the merchant and pick the Valve then install all the upgrades and the trophy will pop right afterwards.

  • Complete the game without killing any Humans unless forced to.

    *Highly Missable*
You are only allowed to kill one human enemy in the entire game and that is the Flamethrower guy at the end of the game in D6, everyone else you have to either knock out or avoid. Be careful during the Contagion chapter as enemies have a habit of running into the fire and dying on their own, if this happens then be sure to restart the checkpoint. Always try to be stealthy, knock out the guards and going through Contagion quickly but carefully will help to ensure that you get this trophy. Be sure to check out the stealth videos for Separation, Facility and Revolution if you're having trouble making it through those levels.

    - Chase: The beginning area can be somewhat annoying because crouching down will still allow you to take damage and the medkits don't seem to help much when you're being shot. I recommend having 4-5 medkits before starting Chase if possible, I also found that crouching and standing up every few seconds kept me from being shot as much then if I just crouched the whole time. Once on the train try to hide behind boxes as needed but know that they can shoot through most of them so try to keep moving, there are however some metal boxes you can hide behind that they can't shoot through once you get to the enclosed train car.

    - Red Square: When you enter the square you will be surrounded by Reds on all sides of you. Your best bet is to hide behind the tall barriers until the guys start to walk up on you, disarm all of them and continue to hide until Pavel gets bored and opens the gate. As soon as he does run at the gate and disarm the guys. Note: You have to shoot at Pavel to continue the Chapter and make it up the stairs before you can decide his fate.

    - D6: Stay crouched behind one of the small barriers and let the AI kill everything, there is a sniper on the wall to the left that you can use to shoot at the tank with. Note: There are ammo crates all around and there is a Minigun on the last platform that you can use to shoot the Flamethrower guy with.

Note: You can kill Mutants just no humans so Spiderbugs, Demons and Watchmen are okay to kill. Also be aware that killing certain Mutants will affect the ending you receive.

Secret trophies

  • Free the Prisoners.

During the Chapter "Pavel", be sure to pull the switch when you get to the guard tower to get this trophy, not the one Pavel tells you to pull, the one you want is to the right of that one.

  • Escape from the Red Line.

Story Related Cannot Be Missed. This will unlock at the end of the Korbut chapter.

  • Kill the Rhino.

Story Related Cannot Be Missed. Simply kill the Rhino in Undercity and the trophy is yours. To kill the Rhino you have to get it to charge head first into the stone pillars in both caves (watch out for the two Watchmen in the second cave). Once he's demolished everything, shoot him once with any weapon to kill him.

  • Remove your mask when Lesnitsky demands it.

At the end of Contagion, Lesnitsky will put a gun to Anna's head, do not shoot him. Wait until he says take your mask off, do so and the trophy is yours.

  • Ignore the Phone Call in the Anomaly.

During the Khan Chapter you will come across a ringing telephone, don't answer it, just walk past and the trophy is yours.

  • Find out about the Reds' plans.

    Story Related Cannot Be Missed.
This will unlock towards the end of the Depot chapter. Note: Killing Lesnitsky counts toward the C'est la vie trophy, "bad" ending.

  • Kill Pavel.

After catching up with Pavel and watching the cutscene, Pavel will be caught in some arms, do nothing and the trophy is yours. Note: This counts toward the C'est la vie trophy which is for the "bad" ending.

  • Save the Bear from the Watchmen after the fight.

After fighting the huge Bear in the Garden Chapter he will run through the trees, follow the path and you'll see some Watchmen all over her, kill at least 3 of them and the trophy is yours.

  • Make Moskvin tell the truth with help from the Dark One.

Story Related Cannot Be Missed. This will unlock towards the end of the Polis Chapter.

  • Destroy D6.

    *Missable*
This will unlock if you've achieved the "bad" ending. To get the bad ending kill the flying Demons, kill enemies that have surrendered, etc. Disobeying the Little Dark One will also push you towards the "bad ending".

    -Kill both villains.
-Kill the Demon in the Dead City that the little one says is just protecting her young.
-Kill the Watchmen that the Little One says not to over various chapters.
-Kill the enemies that have surrendered in Separation, Facility and Revolution.

Note: If you don't unlock this trophy and you know what you may have done wrong you can restart at that chapter but you will have to play through the rest of the game from that point to unlock the trophy.

  • Save D6.

    *Missable*
This will unlock if you've achieved the "good" ending. Not killing enemies that have surrendered, obeying the Little Dark One, letting the "villains" in the game live, and finding a good number of the moral points will all help you achieve the "good" ending. Every time you do something good your screen will flash white for a few seconds, that is a good indicator to whether or not you did the right thing.

    - You do not need to collect all the instruments however the first two are Moral Points.
    - Finding the Child's teddy bear is a Moral Point.
    - Finding the four hidden ammo stashes in Quarantine are a Moral Point.
    - Listening to some conversations around the Metro are Moral Points.
    - Donating ammo to citizens in Bolshoi and Venice are Moral Points.
    - Not killing either of the two villains are major Moral Points.
    - Not killing any of the Watchmen that the little one says not to is a major Moral Point.
    - There are a few enemies will surrender when approached, walking right past them are Moral Points.

There are a lot of Moral Points that will also help push you to the Redemption ending, from just listening to conversations, to finding certain areas, to choosing certain options. The main ones are to obey the Little Dark One and to not kill the villains, but you still need to get other Moral Points to achieve the trophy. You can kill enemies and still get this ending, you do not have to get Shadow Ranger and Redemption at the same time.

Note: If you don't unlock this trophy and you know what you may have did wrong you can restart at that chapter but you will have to play through the rest of the game from that point to unlock the trophy.

DLC: Ranger Mode

2 trophies

  • Complete the game in Ranger Hardcore.

You cannot get this trophy via Chapter Select, you must start a new game if you didn't initially start on Ranger Hardcore difficulty. When you complete the game on Ranger Hardcore you will also get Ranger Elite, both trophies will pop at some point during the ending cutscene. It doesn't matter which ending you get as the trophies will pop regardless.

See this walkthrough of the tricky spots if you get stuck: LINK.

    General Tips:

    • Because of problems with the brightness levels, I recommend maxing out the in-game Gamma and play with your curtains closed (or play at night) else you will have major problems seeing anything.

    • Use stealth wherever possible as firefights will nearly always end badly for you.

    • Keep your Military Grade Rounds (MGRs) for buying ammo, weapon upgrades and Moral Points (paying certain people will award you a Moral Point), don't use them as ammo unless you have zero ammo for either of your guns. Note: Some weapons will not use MGRs, press :triangle: whilst holding any gun and if you see ":r2:" appear in the top left-hand corner of your screen then that gun can use MGRs.

    • I strongly recommend getting the Season Pass as it gives you access to the best gun in the game i.e the Abzats Heavy Automatic Shotgun, with this in your possession you're almost a tank. I say "almost a tank" as it's still possible to get your butt kicked if you get careless and/or get surrounded. I recommend complementing this initially with the Kalash and later on the Kalash 2012 as both of these guns are accurate and deadly at range. One word of warning though about the Abzats, don't use the burst fire mode (press :l1:) as it will leave you vulnerable to attack and burn through your ammo in no time. Once you hit the "Pavel" Chapter, then you will lose access to the Abzats temporarily until you pick it up again by retrieving it from the wall near the lever you have to pull to get the Freedom trophy (a main game trophy) (credit to DeividHasselhoff for this tip). I recommend fully upgrading the Kalash (including adding the Silencer) and the Abzats with everything except the Autofire Adapter upgrade (Autofire will make you less accurate and drain your ammo faster).

    • Do not use the AKSU or buy (if you didn't get it free) the RPK from the PS Store as both of these eat ammo for breakfast and their accuracy sucks, even when upgraded. Many of the guns in this game aren't that great with the two mentioned above being among the most useless. Other dishonourable mentions go to the Bastard SMG, Helsing and the Tikhar.

    • Your health regenerates so take cover if you take damage, then wait for the screen to return to normal and for the sound of your heartbeat to disappear. Keep your Medkits for when you're in imminent danger of death as you don't get many in the game and they can't be bought from any merchants.

    • Sell the ammo for all the guns you know you're never going to use but keep the Grenades, Incendiaries and Claymores as you will need them for certain boss fights. I would consider keeping the Throwing Knives but if you need the extra cash then sell them as well.

    • Don't replace your Gas Mask unless you have to as spares are not that common. Check your watch, listen to your breathing and look out for condensation on your Gas Mask, you have 5mins of air per filter and ragged breathing and a condensated Gas Mask are all signs you're about to run out of air. If your Gas Mask gets dirty then clean it ASAP (tap :l2:) else you won't be able to see where you're going but don't do it when you're in the middle of a fight as it will leave you vulnerable for a couple of seconds.

    • It is also not recommended to shoot the switches that change the points as this is wasteful. The best way is to get off Regina and change the points manually by pressing :square: on the switch.

    • Don't kill/knockout people mid-sentence as this will make other people suspicious and definitely don’t turn off/break any lights within visual range/earshot of enemies as this will also attract unwanted attention. The one exception with the lights is when you encounter the Yellow boxes with switches on them, turning off those switches won't draw unwanted attention for a quite a while.

    • Use your cigarette lighter wherever possible as it has infinite fuel and is the only thing that will destroy cobwebs. The flashlight is great for killing Spiderbugs but the battery drains quickly and requires frequent recharging. If you get lost in a dark place then look at the flame on your cigarette lighter, the direction it points (along with the smoke) will show you the correct path. The cigarette lighter is especially important from the Undercity Chapter onwards as you will periodically encounter interference that will disable all electronics, including your light sources, gun sights etc though strangely not your Laser sights. Also note that you cannot run, perform actions or change weapons with the cigarette lighter equipped, trying to do any of these will force you to put it away. Note The cigarette lighter causes some slight graphical anomalies when you get it out so don't be afraid if your screen goes a little funky for a few seconds.

    • Later on in the game you will get Nightvision Goggles but these should also be used sparingly as their batteries drain faster than those of the flashlight. Note: Laser sights are virtually invisible whilst the Nightvision Goggles are active.

    • Listen out for your Geiger Counter, when it starts crackling it's time to get moving as lingering in irradiated zones will make your health disappear in no time.

    • Due to there being no crosshairs, Throwing Knives are very hard to use so you will have to get much closer to your target before throwing one, else you will likely miss and draw unwanted attention.

See below for some additional tips by cr1s2412:

    • You can last 30 seconds without your Gas Mask on the surface and in similar other places, so if you keep putting your Gas Mask for a second and then removing it for 20-25 seconds, you can conserve a lot of filters and won't have to look for them as much (basically just grabbing the ones that are on your way to your objectives).

    • The trick that Jerry Appleby mentioned for the Bandits chapter (i.e. run in circles) also works for most of the Watchmen encounters, especially those where you have an A.I. partner with you as you can just run in circles and let them do all the killing. Not only do you save bullets this way but you can also easily avoid dying if you just keep running like there's no tomorrow.

    • You can also use the running trick to get past some Watchmen/other enemies in some chapters (i.e. Sundown, Nightfall, Dead City, The Garden etc.) and just sprint to the next objective. Of course, this tip is only recommended if you've played the game at least once beforehand and know your way around.

    • A great place to get a lot of MGRs (especially for weapon attachments) is the Bandits chapter. There's a total of 9 enemies in the first section of that chapter (including the ones in the train). If you knock them all out, you can sell their weapons for an average of 25 MGRs each, which will amount to 200+ MGRs. You will have to do a lot of running back and forth, though, as you can only sell a single weapon at once but at least it's a short distance away. You can do this for the second and third sections of this chapter as well but it'll be far too time-consuming and not worth the hassle as they are much farther away (unless you absolutely need some more MGRs)

Also, there actually is auto-aim in Ranger Hardcore. You would've thought they'd remove that as well but apparently not.

  • Complete the game in Ranger Mode.

To get this trophy you just have to finish the game in Ranger Mode on either Ranger or Ranger Hardcore difficulty, the ending doesn't matter.

There are some small differences between the Ranger and Ranger Hardcore difficulties:

    • You have a limited HUD but still no crosshairs or Ammo Counters for your guns.
    • Some hints and tips will still be given if enabled.
    • The A.I is a little less smart.
    • Supplies and Military Grade Rounds are a little more common.
    • You have limited Auto Aim.
    • QTE prompts will still appear.

DLC: The Faction Pack

6 trophies

  • Complete the SNIPER TEAM level.

    Story Related, can't be missed.

For this Chapter you play as a Red Line Sniper who's been tasked with clearing out a Fourth Reich outpost. The A.I in this Chapter is very wonky and can appear to be almost psychic at times, fortunately this Chapter is fairly short so any frustrations will be short lived. As this Chapter is 99% outdoors do not take off your Gas Mask else you'll suffocate to death. See this video for a full walkthrough:

Credit to Jonlaw98 for this video (although the video is for the Xbox 360 version, the info is still valid).

  • Kill 10 enemies with headshots using your sniper rifle.

    MISSABLE

This is the sniper rifle, it's your default weapon:

The bulk of the headshots for this trophy will come from the opening sniping section and the rest will come from the next couple of enemy encounters. To ensure you get a headshot, make sure you aim slightly above the target's head then pull the trigger.

Note: The soldier your partner kills near the start of this Chapter does not count towards this trophy.

To ensure the best chances of success with this trophy:

    - Don't switch to or use your Custom Lolife pistol at any point.
    - Get all the headshots in a row, don't do anything that will break the chain.
    - Headshot all 10 without being seen or detected, use stealth at all times.

  • Complete the KSHATRIYA level.

    Story Related, can't be missed.

Note: Unlike the other 2 Chapters there is no Auto Save available in this Chapter (apart from 1 at the very start whilst it’s loading), to actually save any progress you need to go to the door at the back of the Bunker where you first start and press .

In this Chapter you will playing as a Polis Ranger called Stalker who's been tasked with finding 30 pre-war artifacts for the Polis Archives. To recover an artifact you have to pick it up then give it to a guy called Shaman who will give a certain amount of MGRs for each one. When you start you will have the following in your inventory:

    • 30 Military Grade Rounds (MGRs)
    • 30 SMG Rounds
    • 20 Dragon's Breath shotgun Shells - works great against all enemies except the Librarians.
    • 60 assault rifle Rounds
    • 1 Bastard SMG
    • 1 Ashot

30 MGRs is not enough to buy any weapons, armour or upgrades so instead I recommend buying 2 medkits, a spare filter for your Gas Mask and 6 Dragon's Breath shotgun Shells. Gas Mask filters start at 10 MGRs but rise to 25 for each additional purchase, Gas Masks can be replaced for free by picking one up from the same table as the filters (press and hold for a few seconds to replace yours). I recommend holding onto the SMG and the Ashot until you have enough MGRs to buy a Shambler, then trade them in as that shotgun is really all you need. If you find any ammo that's not for a shotgun then sell it to raise funds for other things. Shotgun Shells cost 8 MGRs for 6 Shells. You want to save up 200 MGRs for the Environment Suit so you can move about without suffering any Radiation damage.

Before you leave the compound, pick up the Light Bulbs that are to the right of the big Blast Door (press on them), you need them because the extra light will not only help you see where you're going but scare off some of the enemies as well. I also recommend cycling through the advice on the monitor to the left of the Blast Door as it contains some useful tips (press to cycle through them) e.g. you can only carry 5 artifacts at once. Whilst you're underground and inside certain buildings, you can afford to take off your Gas Mask but put it back on the moment you hear yourself choking/breathing raggedly/gasping.

Each set of artifacts is in another part of the map and to get to them you will need to find the access points and fight off Watchmen, Nosalis, Flesh Eating vines and a returning enemy from the first game called the Librarian (a huge Gorilla like creature). The Librarians are extremely tough and best avoided, it's been said if you can get a few headshots with a powerful weapon then you can kill them but I've tried this with no success, it's best to run like mad when you encounter them as they can kill you in 1-2 hits.See this quote by Aruberikku for a tip that may help with these creatures:

The Librarians are actually extremely easy. You just need to have a staring contest with them. If you approach it slowly it will start staring at you, be sure to keep a safe distance. It will try to intimidate you. He might also move forward a little bit, if that happens, just back up a bit slowly. At some point he will probably hit his chest (like a gorilla) and leave soon after.

Just to be safe aim for his head in case he gets too close because then he will charge, if that happens shoot him or better yet just run.

Note: You have a 50/50 chance of being ambushed by the Nosalis after pressing the buzzer to be let back into the Bunker, if this happens then get your Shambler out and go for Headshots. You only have to hold out for about 10-15secs but this can feel like an eternity if you're surrounded and low on ammo.

You don't need to find all 30 artifacts for this trophy, just enough to gain access to the Vault where the Secret Subway Map is stored. Once you've found the map, turn it in then the Chapter will end and the trophy will pop.

See Artifact for the locations of all 30 artifacts.

  • Find 30 artifacts.

    Missable

Note: This trophy is not cumulative so you must get all 30 before starting another Chapter, else you will have to start over from scratch.

For this trophy you need to find 30 artifacts which vary from Speakers to Models and Gun Parts, just make sure you leave the Secret Subway Map until last. I say this because turning it in will end the Chapter, thus forcing you to load your last save which means you'll have to re-find some items. If you look close enough then you can see the artifacts shimmer when you get close to them.

Below is a picture showing the in-game tracker for this trophy (located to the right of Shaman's desk), which you may wish to print off and use as an alternative method of tracking your progress:

Every time you hand in an artifact, its name will change colour on the board.

See below for some helpful videos.

  • Complete the ASSAULT INFANTRY level.

    Story Related, can't be missed.

    GLITCH WARNINGS:

There are some really nasty and annoying bugs in this Chapter that can't always be avoided, you may get lucky and nothing happens but then again you might not. The worst of the bugs is the momentary freezing during the Auto Save as there is a chance the game could crash outright, thus forcing a console reset. There is also a problem with the minigun where it will appear to partially disappear and won't fire, if this happens change to another weapon then switch back to the minigun. Another irritating issue is that the Tank and some of the Snipers can seemingly shoot through walls at times which can make healing almost impossible.

This first Chapter (even though it's near the bottom of the trophy list) sees you playing as a Heavy Soldier in the Fourth Reich called Hans, your job is to hold off and defeat the Red Line Communists whilst helping to defend a key position. This Chapter is extremely linear and there is virtually no room to hide so you will take a lot of damage. The only possible hiding places are to the right where the soldier is that gives you the Medved grenade launcher and in the back left beside a Reinforced Concrete wall. You will face several waves of enemies before the final showdown against a Tank. 3 weapons will be made available to you by the end of the Level, these are:

    Minigun (Starting weapon).
Volt Driver (railgun) - Pneumatic weapon, pump before use (press , then press a few times to pump up the pressure).
    Medved grenade launcher.

The following is a list of each wave and the enemy types you will face in each one:

Wave 1: SMG and Pistol troops.
    Wave 2: Machine Gunners.
Wave 3: Snipers and Petrol Bombers - Volt Driver now available.
Wave 4: Minigun Heavy Soldier, Shield troops, Snipers and Petrol Bombers - Aim for the Minigun Heavy Soldier's body to kill him (trying to hit his head is near impossible), you'll know he's dead when a volley of Rockets fly overhead and kill him and his comrades. This wave is the hardest one, get past it and things will get easier.
Wave 5: Snipers - Medved now available.
Wave 6: Heavy troops using a variety of automatic weapons.
Wave 7: Tank - Use the Medved to pepper the Tank with grenades, 9 of them should do it if you're accurate enough.

The Chapter will end shortly after the Tank is destroyed. Also see Homo Homini Lupus Est.

  • Kill 100 enemies with heavy weapons.

    Missable and GLITCHED

The 100 kills are not cumulative and must be obtained in 1 playthrough of the ASSAULT INFANTRY/Heavy Squad Chapter. It should also be noted that the description for this trophy is misleading, because you don't have to use all 3 heavy weapons, just 1 will do. Also note this trophy can glitch and not pop, thus forcing you to keep replaying this chapter over and over, until it does. This is the single hardest trophy in the DLC and may take several attempts to get right, see the video below for how to get it as quickly as possible:

Credit to the GameInfirmary for the video (although this video is for the Xbox 360 version, the info is still valid).

See this quote for additional info if you still can't get the trophy (credit to Darth_Krid)

A great tip for the 100 kills is to turn off the vibration on your controller. I tried two or three times with it on and was struggling to hit the snipers as my controllers was going off in all directions when I fired the Minigun. Turned it off and did it first time :).

DLC: The Tower Pack

  • Complete the TOWER level.

    Story related, can't be missed

To start the missions you have to go playthrough a short Prologue section that will introduce you to the "Tower" (which is a virtual reality combat simulator) and once inside the actual program you will be told to take a weapon from the Gun Rack to your left. Since there are only 3 weapons, you may as well take all of them. Also note that the graphics will be intentionally wonky inside the simulator when you're in the Virtual Lobby so don't panic. Once you have chosen your weapons, head over to the door and press to start mission 1.

    Mission walkthroughs:

    General advice:

    - If you get stuck in Missions 2, 3 and 5 and keep getting your butt kicked by the Flyers and Nosalies, then try running in circles around the map to avoid them, only stopping to take pot-shots at them. Credit to Jerry Appleby and cr1s2412 for this tip.

    - For each kill you will be given a certain amount of MGRs (Military Grade Rounds) which you can spend either on ammo, summoning virtual soldiers (available from mission 2 onwards) or use as actual ammo (press and hold , keep that held then press ) but do note that your MGR count will be reset on completing the mission so you'll be starting from scratch in the next one. You can increase the amount of MGRs you get by performing Distance, Double, Multi and Headshot kills but killing via body shots will only earn you a single MGR per kill compared to several if you manage to chain the others together.

    - The start of the next round will be indicated by a beeping sound that gets faster and louder until it turns itself off and the next batch of enemies show up, use this time to buy more ammo/reload your weapons or summon some soldiers.

    - Keep human enemies away from the alarm boxes (mutants can't use them), else they'll summon even more soldiers so kill anyone that makes a break for one.

    - You'll know what Wave you are on, because there's a Wave indicator above or near the primary spawn point for the enemies in the current arena.

    - You will always start a mission next to an Ammo Dispenser but some missions will have multiple ones. The Dispenser you start next to at the beginning of a mission will always have 3 full boxes of ammo out and ready to use but it will cost 35 MGRs to dispense another 3 boxes.

    - If you get stuck at any point and wish to try a strategy that's different to one of mine, then see here:

(Credit to Vampires Crypt for this video. Whilst this is for the PC version and is played on the Ranger Hardcore DLC difficulty, the advice shown is still valid).

    Mission 1:

Rating recommendation: N/A because there is only one available.

    Number of Waves: 2

Weapon recommendations: You only have 3 options i.e an Kalash Assault Rifle, a Revolver and an Ashot Pistol. Once inside the mission, you will automatically be given 5 Grenades, 5 Medkits and 5 Claymores.

    Enemies: Humans.

Tactics: Mission 1 is arguably the hardest mission of the lot, though mission 5 is pretty hard as well. At the start of mission you will have a few seconds to find a safe spot to hide, of which you have 2 choices i.e. your starting position next to the Ammo Vending machine or up the stairs to your right and crouch next to the lift. All the enemies in this missions will be carrying Assault Rifles, Shotguns and Grenades so use the gantry to your advantage but go for headshots as your ammo is limited and trying to resupply in the middle of a firefight will almost certainly get you killed.

Near the end of the second and final Wave, the Heavy Infantry will show up and these guys almost never miss so use Grenades, Claymores and your Kalash to kill them and don't let yourself get cornered!

    Mission 2:

    Rating recommendation: Normal

    Number of Waves: 4

Weapon recommendations: As above but swap your Ashot for the Duplet Shotgun (the one with 4 barrels).

Enemies: Nosalises, both Walkers and Flyers

Tactics: The walking Nosalises can be a pain because they're fast and deadly with it due to their powerful melee attacks so kill these guys from a distance but use the Duplet if they get up close and personal. The real danger is from the Flyers, because they will spit a toxic substance at you that will both slow you down and make you far more vulnerable to damage so kill them immediately! Another reason why the Flyers are so dangerous is because the stuff they spit out, will also muffle the sounds around you so it becomes a lot harder to tell where attacks are coming from.

For this mission you will also be given some Incendiary Grenades and these are invaluable once the Nosalises start attacking the gate that blocks entry into the arena, because you can rack up a lot of kills and MGRs by killing several at once.

In Waves 2+4, a siren will go off periodically to indicate that the Nosalises are attacking the main gate from the other side so kill them quickly, else they'll destroy it and you will soon find yourself swamped by hordes of Nosalises.

    Mission 3:

    Rating recommendation: Normal

    Number of Waves: 4

Weapon recommendations: Swap out your Kalash for the Kalash 2012 Assault Rifle and the Revolver for the Valve Sniper Rifle. In addition to the usual Grenades, you will also be given some Sticky Spike Grenades. SSGs are essential for when the Nosalises start attacking the gates, because you can wipe out an entire horde with just 1 Grenade.

    Enemies: Nosalises (Walkers and Flyers)

Tactics: It's in this mission that you get the ability to summon your own soldiers, which consist of Snipers and regular soldiers but save them for when you are really in danger as else you will be making a costly mistake. You can find summon points scattered around the arena (they're denoted by 2-3 holographic people) so press to summon some soldiers, you have no control over who they target or when to move but they are literal life savers.

For the first Wave you can get away with just sniping the Nosalises from your starting point as they spawn so far off, that you have more than enough time to kill them before they get to you. Wave 2 is where things start getting tricky because you'll have several attempts on the gates and the Flying Nosalises will put in an aggressive appearance. In Wave 3 you may want to consider deploying some of the soldiers you have available, because the end of this Wave and the whole of Wave 4 will get really frantic if the Nosalises manage to break through the gates.

    Mission 4:

Rating recommendation: HUGE because this mission is where you'll be going for the Willpower trophy.

    Number of Waves: 5

Weapon recommendations: Keep roughly the same loadout as before but swap the Duplet for the Shambler. There are some spare Medkits scattered around the arena so keep an eye out for them.

    Enemies: Humans

Tactics: Head up to the top level and crouch behind one of the sets of Gas Cylinders (don't worry, they won't explode if hit) next to the Sniper summon point, from here you can pick off any enemies that come up the stairs on the left and right hand sides of the arena or from the one of the 3 lifts. From Wave 2 onwards, the enemies will start chucking Grenades at you so watch out but otherwise they'll stick to using their Assault Rifles and Shotguns. Once you have 35 MGRs, summon the Snipers (their summon point is right behind you) then rebuild your cash reserves so you can get more ammo as you'll likely be running low by this point but use 15 MGRs to summon some soldiers if you get really stuck (their summon point is near your starting area for this mission).

In Wave 3, things are really going to heat up because enemy Snipers will start showing up so be prepared and set some Claymores near your hiding place should they get too close. Protect your A.I soldiers and fire in short bursts, else you'll run out of ammo and your soldiers will suffer because of it.

The Willpower trophy will pop once you have returned to the Virtual Lobby.

    Mission 5:

Rating recommendation: N/A as there is only one available.

    Number of Waves: 3

Weapon recommendations: Keep roughly the same loadout before but swap out the Shambler for the Saiga Automatic Shotgun. You will be given a Minigun to use but do not pick it up until mid-way through Wave 3 as it burns through ammo at an extreme rate, has a very slow reload time and you'll need it for use against some deadly dangerous enemies that appear right near the end of the Wave and the mission.

Enemies: Nosalises (walkers only) and Librarians.

Tactics: For this mission you'll be stuck in a small room with no effective cover so keep moving but be careful with your aim as you don't have much ammo and trying to melee a Nosalises is suicide. For the first 2 Waves you just want to keep moving to avoid taking damage, whilst also lobbing Grenades at the gates whenever they get attacked. For the 3rd and final Wave, immediately pick up the Minigun (drop the Valve as it won't be of much use now) but wait until the Librarians show up before deploying your soldiers as you'll need them for crowd control. The Librarians are huge mutated Gorillas that not only have a ton of health but are the single deadliest creatures in this DLC so once these guys show up, you want to retreat to the very back of the room and let rip with the Minigun as it's the only thing that can kill them. With luck, the numerous Claymores that are scattered around the area will kill or seriously weaken the enemies so you can finish them off the Minigun.

You should be able to thin out the enemy numbers just enough with your troops, Claymores and some Grenades so you can focus on the Librarians without too many Nosalises getting in the way. The trophy will pop once you've killed the last of the enemies and watched the ensuing cutscene.

  • Complete at least one HUGE mission.

    MISSABLE

See Test Complete for a full walkthrough of how to get this in mission 4. There are 3 different mission sizes i.e. Normal, Hard and HUGE but the differences between them are few:

1: More enemies and different enemy types on Hard and HUGE.
2: Some missions on Hard will be in darkness but Normal and HUGE will be in daylight.
3: More and longer Waves on Hard and HUGE (the default for Normal is 2-4).

You can only attempt this trophy in missions 2, 3 and 4 because those are the only ones that allow you to choose your mission size, whereas missions 1 and 5 only provide one size option which is a variation on Normal.

DLC: The Developer Pack

4 trophies

  • Complete the SPIDER LAIR level.

    Story Related, cannot be missed.

    Notes:

    - Whenever I say "supplies", it's meant as a catch all phase to cover any ammo, fuel, filters and gas masks that are in the area.
    - "QTE" stands for "Quicktime Event".

After the unskippable intro cutscene, turn round and make your way out of the spider nest by following the path round to the right and descending a stairwell. You will now be in a tunnel and there's a gas mask filter and a Shotgun shell about half way in, turn right then enter the small room that's facing you and turn on the lantern (press on it). In the lantern room will be some Shotgun shells and filters, exit the room; there are some medkits to the far right so pick those up then round and follow the tunnel round to the left. Further on you will find more Shotgun shells and some spider corpses near a stairwell with steps going down with more ammo on the middle landing, at the bottom you want to follow the tunnel to right and round until you find another room with a lantern in it. Turn on the lantern to kill all the spiders that are in there then pick up all the ammo and health you can find, now head through the cobwebs in front of the lantern and open the door there (press on it) and pick up the medkit that's in front of you. At the entrance to the nearby short corridor is a truck with a lamp on it, turn it on to scare off the spiders then you can safely grab the nearby supplies at your leisure. After picking up all the supplies you can find, walk to the end of the tunnel and turn right then pick up the Flamethrower fuel; climb the nearby ramp and crouch (press ) to enter the narrow tunnel that's in front of you.

Keep moving through the tunnel until you automatically exit it but now you will have to run like crazy (press and hold ) since you've just landed in a nest full of hatching spider eggs. At the end of this sequence, walk forward until you see a Flashlight on the floor, at this point the game will take over and initiate a QTE (press as rapidly as you can). With the QTE over with, turn round and open the door behind the cobwebs then go through it and the subsequent room and quickly turn on the lantern in the second room to kill all the spiders therein (there's some Flamethrower fuel in one corner along with a few Shotgun shells so pick them up). When you're done collecting everything, go through the open door and carry on forward until you see an opening to your right (they'll be a corpse leant against it with a gas mask you can take if needed). Head inside but before you take the Ashot that's holding the door shut, make sure you pick up all the supplies that are lying around then power on the Power Box that's on the wall to the left of the door (killing all the spiders in both rooms in the process). Before you open the door in the next room, make sure you pick up the Flamethrower fuel to the left of it. After opening the door you will see a lever on the wall in front of you but put your gas mask on before pulling the lever (press and hold then press ), else you will suffocate to death once the big door opens.

On the other side of the door is a chamber full of spiders so keep your Flashlight on and recharge it if needed (press and hold then press on the D-pad, now press repeatedly until it's fully charged), spiders hate bright lights so your Flashlight will scare off/kill them if you focus on them long enough. Once all the spiders are either dead or scared off, enter the tunnel on one side of the chamber but watch out for a booby trap (this can be disabled by pressing on the wire). Both the chamber and tunnel have supplies so pick them up before exiting the area by climbing the ladder at the end of the tunnel. Watch out for spiders at the top of the ladder but you can kill some of them with the booby trap at the other end of the nearby tunnel (press on it then get out of the blast radius). The gantry in the next area has some Shotgun shells on one side and a new gas mask on the other, now head into the tunnel at the other end then take a left turn into a side room when you hit a dead end. In this side room you will trigger a short cutscene where you obtain the Flamethrower but you will have to pump it first before it can be used (press and hold then press on the D-pad, now press repeatedly until the air gauge is maxed out). With the Flamethrower equipped, exit the room you're in but before turning left; pick up the two bottles of Flamethrower fuel then torch the wall of spider gunk and collect the Shotgun ammo from the corpse that's revealed:

With the path now clear, you're free to use the lift but switch out the Flamethrower for the Ashot first as you don't want to waste ammo by getting trigger happy. When the lift stops, you will be attacked almost immediately by a horde of spiders so make a dash for the ladder that's directly in front of you and climb up it. The gantry you're now on has lots supplies so pick them up before making your way into the missile silo (make sure you pick up the medkit and Shotgun shells in the adjoining passage). The gantry up to the next level has several spiders so try your best to outrun them but also try to collect the supplies that nearby as you'll need them later. Once you get up top, enter the tunnel and disable the booby trap in the room to your left then take all the supplies it contains. Now pull the lever on the wall next to the big metal door and once the gantry has lowered into place, you're free to continue. Once on the gantry you will be attacked by another horde of spiders but there's too many to run from so you'll have to kill them, remember to use only your Flashlight and not your Flamethrower. Directly in front of where you enter the upper floor is a room where entry is barred by more of the spider gunk, torch it then enter the room and pick up all the supplies as you're going to need them.

This next area is where the Chapter starts to get glitchy and the framerate will take a nosedive so be careful. Exit the storage room and turn right, pick up the filters and Flamethrower fuel and open the door in the little passage to your right. Once your through the door take a left and enter the small office but do not activate the container on the desk as it's booby trapped and will blow up in your face, instead look in the corner to the right of the door and open the far left and right lockers as they contain filters and a new gas mask. There's also a bottle of Flamethrower fuel in one of the overturned lockers. Exit the office but before ascending the stairs, collect the Flamethrower fuel and filters that nearby. On the first landing you will trigger another QTE, press repeatedly to finish it so you can move on. Go through the door at the top of the stairs then turn right and carry on walking until you see a room on your right, enter this room and pick up all the supplies you can carry. Once you're done, exit the room and turn left then carry on walking until you see a switch on the wall to your right. Press on the switch to activate the next gantry but the gantry is jammed, to unjam it you have to torch the spider gunk that's in the way. Once the gantry is down, you will be attacked by some spiders so either outrun or kill them. On the far right of the gantry is a ladder, climb up it then head to the passage at the other end where you'll have 2 lots of spider gunk blockages to torch but watch out for the second one as torching it may detonate a booby trap in the adjoining room. In the room to your right are some supplies including some Flamethrower fuel so collect as much as you can carry, then exit and turn left and carry on until you arrive in another stairwell.

Now head up the stairs to the next floor but at the top, go into the room on your right before opening the door and stock up on more supplies. On your right just after you go through the door there will be some filters on the floor so pick them up and head over to the far side of the gantry, torch the big pile of spider gunk then climb the ladder and pick up the Flamethrower fuel on the floor in front of you. If you need more filters or another gas mask then there some at both ends of the corridor. Now head to the left and open the door to the left of the gas mask and filters, enter the room but watch out for a booby trap that's nearby. You want to find the Power Box in a nearby side room and power it on so you can gain entry to the final area. There are 3-4 cans of Flamethrower fuel near the Power Box so pick them all up, there's also a new gas mask in the same room as the Power Box if it's needed. Once you've collected everything you need, head outside and activate the switch on the wall opposite to lower the final gantry. Head across the gantry into the Missile Control Room and look for the kiosk bathed in blue light, when you find it you need to pull the lever on the control panel (press on it) to call the lift. Once the lever is pulled, dozens and dozens of spiders will attack, hold them off until the lift arrives then get in and watch the ending cutscene. The trophy will pop during or just after the Ending cutscene.

If you require a visual walkthrough then watch this video:

  • Kill 20 spiders with your flame thrower.

    Possibly glitched, also missable

    Notes:

    - This trophy can only be obtained in the SPIDER LAIR Chapter.
    - The description has a typo in it, "flame thrower" should be spelt "Flamethrower" as that's how it is spelt in-game.
    - The bottles/cans of fuel will blink in the dark so you'll know them when you see them.

As I said in the Road Map, I'm not certain if this trophy is glitched or not as I had to redo the SPIDER LAIR Chapter 2-3 times before getting the trophy to pop but others have said they got it first time. If this trophy is not glitched, then below are two pictures of what does and doesn't count towards it:

    Counts (no tail):

    Doesn't count (has tail):

The Flamethrower is found during a story related moment, thus it's unmissable but you will have to pump it first before it can be used (press and hold and press on the D-pad then press repeatedly until the air gauge is completely full). After collecting it, do not use it unless you're truly stuck or the game forces you to use it (see Through the Fire for the forced sections), this is because there is limited ammo and using it without good reason will leave you short on ammo and unable to get the trophy. To conserve Flamethrower ammo, use your Flashlight and stun enemies with your Ashot so you can run straight by them.

Here's what the 3 Flamethrower fuel container variants look like (take note of the Flame icon):

    Variant 1:

    Variant 2:

    Variant 3:

The best place to get this trophy is right near the end of the Chapter after you activate the lift, do not enter it when it arrives but rather you should equip the Flamethrower and torch anything that moves. Until you get in the lift, the spiders will keep on spawning for a very long time so keep firing until you run out of ammo or until the trophy pops but ensure you keep your Flashlight turned off as you don't want that to kill the spiders before the Flamethrower does.

  • Complete the SHOOTING RANGE and ARENA.

    Cannot be missed.

    Notes:

    - This trophy can only obtained in the Chapter called "Developer Pack".
    - When using Pneumatic weapons, you will have to pump them regularly because they use up their air/pressure pretty quickly.
    - There are other panels and buttons in each area but you need only concern yourself the Challenge activation boards and manual save points.
    - Each time you resupply at the start/end of a Challenge, your medkits get refilled as well so take advantage of them if you get dangerously low on health.

Both areas have a Gun rack where you can choose/swap out/upgrade your weapons between Challenges, there will also be a supply crate or crates where you can resupply and a save point where you can make a manual save.

    Manual save point example:

Once activated, then the word "Save" will go red to indicate that it can't be used again for a while (which is about 2-3mins).

There are 10 Challenges in each area and below is a brief Guide to each one but for them to count towards the trophy, you have to activate them via the Challenge activation boards (the completed Challenges will turn green when completed):-

  • Spend 3 hours on the DEVELOPER level.

    Possibly glitched, also missable

Note: The description has a typo in it, it should say "Spend 3 hours in the DEVELOPER level".

The description for this trophy can be a little misleading for some people so to clarify, only time spent in the Chapter called "Developer Pack" actually counts towards this. This trophy is considered missable because of the aforementioned save file deletion bug and if you get hit by it, you will have to restore a backup and try again.

As mentioned in the Road Map, it's best to work on this at the same time as Specialist and to take your time getting it so have less time to kill later on. From what I've been told and have read, this trophy has to be done in continuous chunk without exiting to Main Menu; there is also a chance your stats and progress may randomly get wiped (credit to Zealot for this). You cannot change your System clock to get this trophy (I tried this several times without success), nor can you just pause the game and come back later as you have to be physically doing something for your time to count (even if it's just playing with your weapons or visiting the museum). Time spent in load screens and the menus likely doesn't count either.

You can monitor the time by checking your wristwatch since that is tied to the PS3's system clock but I also recommend setting a physical timer for 3hrs as well when first attempting this trophy. By doing this you will be certain of exactly how long you've played for, which in turn will help you tell if you've been glitched or not should the trophy not pop when expected. Your wristwatch is only visible when not holding a heavy weapon like the Flamethrower, Gattling gun, Hellbreath etc but make sure you turn your Flashlight off before looking at your watch else it will be too bright to see anything.

This trophy may pop early (like it did for me) or not at all. If it pops early then great, go to the XMB and sync the trophy but if it doesn't then you will have to try the following:

    - Restore a save file backup from before you attempted this trophy.

    - Delete and reinstall the game + the Developer Pack DLC then try waiting for another 3hrs.

    - Delete just your save and try again.

    - Delete everything to do with this game (except the trophies) off your Hard Drive and try again (use this option only as a last resort).

DLC: The Chronicles Pack

6 trophies

  • Complete the PAVEL level.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

After a short cutscene you'll be presented with a QTE prompt, press to stab your captor in the neck with the syringe he's holding so as to prevent your own death. Now turn around so you're facing the only exit out the room you're in, then walk over to the little brown box that's on the wall and pick up the portable generator and the headlight:

Your next job is to turn the power back on so you can open the door and escape the room you're in. To the left of gate on a wall is a power box, press to power on the system then exit the area through the big door at the end of the tunnel.

In the next room go as far to the left as you can to avoid the guard that will come in, the first of the 8 safe boxes and keys you need for the Safe Cracker trophy are in here as well so see that trophy for a full location guide. On the table beneath the safe is a knife, press to pick it up then quietly move round the corner and deal with the guard. I would also use the switch box on the wall to turn off all the lights in the area to make sneaking easier. In the next room you want to stay hidden and quietly knockout/kill all the guards as moving around unseen will be difficult, even on Easy. There's a silenced revolver on a table in one of the side rooms that will help you, it's in the room where 2 guys are playing Russian Roulette. You can make stealing it easier by tricking one of the guards into killing the other by waiting for them to go off and do something, then you can sneak out and rig the revolver. Once rigged, go back into hiding and wait for the inevitable to happen then wait for the surviving soldier to run off before picking up the silenced revolver.

There are 2 ways out of this area (both are in the same room as a safe box):

1: The first exit is down a brightly lit corridor that's patrolled by a normal soldier and a Heavy Shotgun trooper. NOTE: The door to this corridor may or may not be locked as it depends on what the alert status of the enemies is, if it is locked then option 2 is your only way out.

2: The other exit is directly opposite the first one (there's a shovel mounted on the wall to the left of the door) and is only patrolled inside by light infantry.

My preference is for Option 2 as there is more cover and only weaker soldiers to deal with, you will also find your coat and Journal in a locker in the changing rooms. You don't need to retrieve these items but the compass on your Journal may prove useful in conjunction with your lighter if you get lost (as your lighter smoke will point you in the right direction). Whichever route you take, you will eventually end up at a Firing Range that's swarming with soldiers of all types so ensure you have plenty of ammo. To make life easier for yourself try and sneak into the back room where there's a sparking power box, press to remove the throwing knife that's bridging the circuit breakers and cut the power. To exit the Firing Range you need to head up the stairs then turn left and into a small control room, press on the wall mounted lever (there's also an AK in here with a nightvision scope, pick it up before you leave as you may need it later). Pulling the lever will open the gate at the other end of the walkway, open the next door to exit the area but watch out for the tripwire activated bomb at the bottom of the steps on the other side of the door.

Once you've crawled through the drainage pipe into the next area, you'll almost certainly have to shoot your way to the exit as there are a lot of heavily armed guards. There is a possibility you may run into a bizarre but beneficial bug here and in the penultimate area. Basically the enemies will freeze in position and won't attack, if this happens then don't try to stealth kill/knock them out else you'll be frozen in place as well and have to reload your checkpoint. However you manage to get through the area, just don't fall into the radioactive water that flows through the area else it will kill you pretty quickly.

In the mini area you come to next, you have to navigate a flooded Generator room. This area is straightforward but watch out for the tripwire bomb in the entrance to the room at the top of the stairs. Once past the tripwire, turn left then open the door at the end and proceed into the penultimate area. In this next area you'll have no choice but to shoot your way through to the exit, unless you run into the previously mentioned bug in which case you can stroll through at your leisure. Fortunately this area is extremely small and linear so finding the exit won't be difficult.

For the final area you just want to walk through the bar/stripclub (there's no nudity so don't worry about that) until you reach the platform at the other end and get on the railcar that's waiting there. The trophy will pop once the screen goes black and returns you to the "Press Start" screen.

See here for a video walkthrough if you need it:

  • Open 8 safe boxes on the PAVEL level.

    Missable

This trophy is missable because you can't return to certain areas after leaving them as the door(s) will lock behind you.

There are 8 safe boxes in total and to open them you need to find all 8 keys. The safe boxes and keys will never be more than a few feet away from each other so the amount of backtracking needed should be minimal. Also note that this trophy is not glitched as was previously reported, if it doesn't pop after opening the final safe box then you've missed one somewhere.

Here is what a safe box looks like (wall version):

    Free standing safe box:

    What the keys look like:

See here for a video walkthrough:

Credit to One Drunk Gamer for this video (although this video is for the Xbox 360 version, the info is still valid).

    NOTES:

    - Safe boxes 5+6 in the above video can be obtained in any order, providing you don't leave the area but personally I find it easier and safer to get safe box #6 first then do #5 afterwards.

    - The fastest way to get out of the vault where safe box #7 (in the above video) is located is to walk to the door then shoot the sparking power box on the other side of the Generator room, this way you don't have to wait for the timer to kick in but if you're low on ammo then you can wait until the door opens.

Also, see this quote from RedHoodHunter:

Safe #1 / Key #1 are in the hallway right after you escape. This hallway must be passed through (it's the spot where you first pick up the knife).

Safe #2 is in the next room (you'll see three guys along the back wall talking). The safe is in the centre of the room on top of a box. Key #2 is in a box in the area with all the beds.

Safe #3 is in the middle of the shooting gallery on the ground floor. The #3 key is next to it on the back of a crate.

Safe #4 / Key #4 are along the top walkway of the shooting gallery (one is at each end). The key is in the booth with the two guards.

Safe #5 is on top of the shanty town. The #5 key is in a hut below it (you'll notice a blue glow coming from this hut. The key is hanging from a pot).

Safe #6 / Key #6 are towards the exit of the shanty town. There's a hut with the key and right after it is the final hut with the safe.

Key #7 is right after you exit the shanty town through the bulkhead door. Go right and you'll see a flooded stairwell. Head down it. The key is in an orangish box on the wall. Safe #7 is behind a door you need to open with the charger / pump thingy. It's right before you leave this area and very hard to miss.

Key #8 is right after you enter the area with the wooden walkways and the flooded room. It's hanging from the edge of some stairs. Safe #8 is at the other end of the room, just beyond the door. You'll have to pass it to progress through the level so it's very visible.

I hope this saves my fellow trophy hunters some time!

  • Complete the KHAN level.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

After the opening cutscene, make your way through the smoke until you meet Khan then follow him until you get to a door which he will ask you to power on. Once the door is open, keep following Khan (get your lighter out as it's really dark in the area ahead) and search all the corpses as at least one will have supplies on it. You will have a vision shortly after the Auto Save and the graphics will go intentionally funky so don't panic. After being snapped out of the vision you will have to follow Khan again but after a few seconds he will tell you to stand still as a hostile Anomaly will appear, once it has moved on you will able to move out safely.

After the encounter with the Anomaly you will follow Khan to a room with a waste chute, get in it then after you hit the bottom make sure you grab the medkit from behind a grate in the top left-hand corner of the room. For the next section you will have only your lighter to deal with a tunnel full of spiderlings and Rats, fortunately they will die on contact with your lighter's flame. Shortly after the Rats appear Khan will push you down a pipe into another tunnel which is also swarming with Rats, only this time it will take more than your lighter to kill them all. To kill the Rats you need to lure the previously met Anomaly out of hiding, to do this there are 2 banks of batteries that need charging. The first set is behind you through a door on the right-hand side of the tunnel, it's really dark in here so turn on your headlight (press and hold then press ). To charge the Batteries you need to follow the corridor round until you hit a blockage, turn to your right to see the door which leads to the Battery room. Inside here you will find a power box which can charge by pressing but watch out for the Nosailes that will spawn behind you and in the tunnel on your way out. There's a box just round the corner from this first power box that has a medkit and some ammo in it should they be needed. Battery bank #2 is back the way you came and through a door to Khan's left. To get to the power box (the one that charges the batteries) you need to go forward a few feet then look to your right to see another door, go through it but watch out for the Nosailes that's hiding in a corner. Charge the power box then return to Khan but before you do that, kill the Nosailes that tries to pounce on you then check the nearby skeleton for supplies if needed.

Once you've returned to Khan he will tell you to stand still and not move, this is so the Anomaly will kill only the Rats and not the two of you. After the Anomaly has self-destructed, follow Khan and open any doors that are blocking your way. Eventually you will come across 2 people sitting around a campfire and an interactive cutscene will play out, at the end of which you will be in a vision and transported back in time to when Khan was much younger and be given an automatic shotgun. This new weapon is takes ages to reload and eats ammo for breakfast so only tap the trigger to avoid wasting ammo. It's during this final section where you have to defend a barricade that you will start working on the Hunting trophy, see that trophy for a full walkthrough and tips on how to get it.

After defending the barricade, return to the door you came through earlier. After a short while a brief cutscene will kick in, after which you'll have to kill a Nosailes. Your task now is to retrieve some explosives from the Station's Arsenal and use them to seal various security breaches. To get to the explosives you need to turn left from where the cutscene was and carry on moving forward, you'll know if you're in the right place as you'll see a sign that says "Stop, Exchange". The detonation point you're looking for is right at the other end of the Station where the malfunctioning doors are, place the explosives on the wooden crossbar at the base of the escalators to trigger a cutscene then the Chapter will end.

The trophy will pop once the screen goes black and returns you to the "Press Start" screen.

  • Kill 20 Nosailes and the Big Momma.

    Missable

The description for this trophy is highly misleading as there is no Big Momma to kill.

The majority of your kills for this trophy will come from when you have to defend a barricade alongside 2 other people during the vision sequence. The rest of the kills will come as you fight your way to the Station's Arsenal and then to where the explosives have to be set. If the trophy doesn't pop by the time you get to security doors you have to blow up, then hang around a short while as the Nosailes will continue to spawn providing you don't set off the explosives. If you run out of shotgun and AK ammo then scavenge around as there will be some petrol bombs, claymores and helsing ammo (the helsing is in an open locker near the stockpile of explosives you need to finish the Chapter (credit to Craig1987 for this info)).

The trophy will pop shortly after getting your 20th kill.

  • Complete the ANNA level.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

At the start of this Chapter you have to complete a series of QTE's to progress (press when the prompts appear), eventually you get to the top of the ruined structure and the Auto Save will kick in. This spot is the only place you can get the Eagle Eye trophy, see that trophy for details. After you and Artyom have fought off the Watchmen, another Auto Save will kick in and you'll have a QTE to perform (press ). By now your Air Filter will need replacing so change it by pressing and holding then pressing . Now you have to track and shoot the Little Dark One 4 times, after the 4th shot your view will be locked to looking down your sniper scope for a few seconds. Once you're free to move again, use the zipline to your left (press on it).

After you've recovered from your crash landing, get your silenced SMG out and collect some spare filters from the nearby corpse. Now, watch out for the snipers on the bridge opposite as they rarely miss and prepare for a firefight. Once you've cleaned out all the soldiers, head over to a nearby destroyed van which has some ammo, spare filters and a replacement gas mask should you need to replace yours, there is additional ammo, filters and a medkit in a nearby box so grab those as well. This next section is really dark so turn on your headlight by pressing and holding then pressing . The layout of this area is fairly linear but it can be easy to get lost, if that happens then get your lighter and Journal out (press then hold ) to see which direction the compass in the top left-hand corner is pointing. Eventually you'll meet a small group of soldiers that you may be able to stealth kill/knock out if you're fast enough. After you've dealt with them keep moving forward until you hit a dead end, a cutscene will play and the Chapter will end.

The trophy will pop once the screen goes black and returns you to the "Press Start" screen.

  • Kill more Watchmen that Artyom does.

    Missable

This trophy is tricky for the following reasons:

1: Because the reload time on your sniper rifle is a long one.
2: Sometimes the Watchmen will go behind the burnt out trees that are dotted across the map, thus making a clean kill impossible.
3: There is no set number of Watchmen you have to kill as it changes each time you play.

To stand the best chance of getting this trophy:

1: Only use your sniper rifle because the SMG's range is too short and will use too much ammo.
2: Press and hold to steady your aim and only shoot stationary targets, else you will more than likely miss.
3: Listen for when Anna calls out the locations of each wave of Watchmen.

Anna will call out whenever you get a kill and after approx 3-4 mins, the remaining Watchmen will run away and the trophy will pop if you succeeded. If you miss more than 3 times, then reload the last checkpoint else it's unlikely you'll be able to kill enough Watchmen to satisfy the trophy requirement.
