Tearing Away the Disguise Trophy in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

  • Tearing Away the Disguise

Destroy all of the humanoid Dwarf Gekkos during story mode.

How to unlock Tearing Away the Disguise

(Glitched) This trophy requires you to find and destroy all 5 humanoid Dwarf Gekkos that are hidden in the game. Some are more easily found than others, but all can be easily missed. While not entirely missable, this trophy is finicky, with some people having to destroy all 5 in one pass and others being able to quit the game and pick it up later and still earn the trophy. This problem is made apparent, as unlike other collectible trophies, the game will not auto-save once you kill a humanoid Dwarf Gekko. For safety's sake, I would advise to destroy all 5 of them in one go without using the restart function.

  • I can confirm you need to play from chapter 2 to chapter 7 in one go to get this trophy. If you die or restart checkpoint you must go back to where you find the first Gekko in chapter 2 and proceed from there.
  • Thanks for the video. I played easy mode from start to finish and got the trophy.
  • I can also confirm that you have to play thru 2-7. You can die or restart, but only if you have made it to a checkpoint after killing the gekko. (since the game DOES NOT auto save after killing it) Just make sure to make it to checkoint where it auto saves after killing it or you have to do it again. Also, the trophy pops right after killing the last gekko, unlike other trophies where you have to complete the level.
  • You do *not* need to do this in one go. I received the trophy my first playthrough (which lasted a few days) by calling Courtney and manually saving after killing one of the Gekkos. In fact, I suspect the trophy isn't glitched at all. The people having problems with it probably just didn't give the game a chance to save after killing one (or more) Gekko before reloading or shutting down.
  • I can confirm you don't need to get them all in one go. I manually saved after each kill and got the trophy
  • here is the locationof every dwarf gekko https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEURjZgTvy8
  • After killing each one I did a manual save. I even quit the game in between and even restarted.
And I still got the trophy after killing the fifth one.
