-Special peripherals or multiple controllers needed? Yes, 2 controllers are needed for Competitive V.R. Missions
“1500 years ago, everybody knew that the Earth was the center of the universe. 500 years ago, everybody knew that the Earth was flat. And 15 minutes ago, you knew that people were alone on this planet. Imagine what you'll know tomorrow.” –Agent K
Men In Black: Alien Crisis is based on the popular film series of the same name and takes place parallel to the events of the third film. You play as Peter Delacoeur (or Agent P), a MIB Agent in training, your job is to uncover a secret alien plot. As part of the intergalactic peacekeeping force, it is now time for you use the technology and tactics the Men in Black are (un)known for. Now grab your black sunglasses and your neuralizer, it’s time to save the universe in this action packed on-rails 3rd person arcade shooter.
Note:Men In Black: Alien Crisis is a PlayStation MOVE enabled game and the MOVE Navigation controller control scheme works quite well with it. But for the purposes of this guide all control references are in relation to the use of a Dualshock 3 controller with default settings.
A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals, and you know it. -Agent K
Step 1:
Just play and enjoy the game. The game has two difficulty settings; Agent (normal) and Elite Agent (hard), you must first finish the game on Agent to unlock Elite Agent for a second playthrough. This game is very easy. Most guns have unlimited ammo and the game gives you a ton of health for killing enemies. Don’t be surprised if you don’t die a single time during this playthrough, I didn’t. The game consists of 8 chapters that each range from 8-25 minutes long.
As you play through the game, you will get usage trophies for the different guns and attachments. So you should switch primary guns and attachments after you get the trophies for those weapons and move on to the next weapon. You should get all gun and attachment trophies during this playthrough, if not don’t worry about it, you have another playthrough coming.
During this step should unlock the following trophies:
Ugly on the Inside Road Hog Own the Road Group Off Brute Force Smile for the Camera! Kicking and Screaming High Score Party Crasher This Won't Take Long Hide’n’Seek The Spice of Life Flying Car? Where? Enjoy the Ride 50 Enemies - Std. Issue 1995 60 Enemies - Noisy Cricket 250 Enemies - Tribarrel 350 Enemies - Tribarrel 100 Enemies - Adorian Crossbow 200 Enemies - The BANGer Shattered Expectations What Goes Up… Juggernaut Demolition Expert Keep it Slow Pest Control Assert Fail Junior Agent The Gatherer HOT Streak High Standards Save the Universe
Step 2: V.R. Missions:
You will need to complete 12 competitive V.R. Missions. It’s best to play these missions after you have completed the main game because you will keep all the weapons and upgrades from the story. These missions are short and painless. The caveat is you must play these in split-screen with two controllers (either 2 Dualshock 3s, or 1 Dualshock 3 and a MOVE+Nav combo, or any combination thereof). You don’t need a second player with you as this is an on-rails arcade shooter the 2nd controller will follow you throughout the level. On your way to completing all 12 missions make sure you score at least 300,000 points in a single V.R. Mission. This is a very simple feat but if you are having trouble with any of these trophies then please see their respective trophy descriptions in the guide below.
During this step you will unlock the following trophies:
Superior Fighter Superstar Conqueror Duelist
Step 3:
Time for your Elite Agent Playthrough. From the main menu go to “Extras” > “Change Difficulty” and select “Elite Agent.” Now using chapter select playthrough the story again. “Elite Agent” is just as easy as “Agent” difficulty. You won’t even notice the spike in difficulty. The only differences are Nakkadan Elite Guard boss and the final boss battles are both considerably harder, the final boss is especially cheap in this mode. But remember this is all relative to the incredibly easy difficulty of this game. Normally you never die in battle but during these two fights you may die a few times.
During this step you will unlock:
Senior Agent
And possibly any trophies you missed during your first playthrough.
Optional: Step 4 Clean Up:
Use this step to clean up any trophies you may have missed. The only possible trophy you may have missed is Dodge and Weave. Read that trophy’s below trophy description if you need any help or information about it.
Once all steps have been completed it is time to congratulate yourself on your new shiny Trophy.
[PS3T Would Like to Thank immikeulate for this Roadmap]
During the second section of the 7th chapter you will be tasked with chasing down Nethera. As she flees she will drop 3 sets of electric mines (they look like violet colored waves), with each set being more difficult to dodge than the one before it.
The first set only consists of five (5) stationary mines that are easily dodged by weaving through them.
The second set is a bit more challenging. First you'll have to dodge four (4) vertical mines that are moving side to side, this is simple, just stay towards the middle of the screen. Immediately after those mines you will have to deal with four (4) horizontal mines moving up and down. Stay to the right of the screen and try to go under the first mine, over the second, under the third, and finally under the fourth.
The last set of mines are ridiculous. First you'll have two (2) mines together, one vertical and one horizontal; and both moving left and right and up and down. Try to stick to the middle-right for these mines. Next up you'll have two more of this same combination of mines but mirrored. The first two you'll want to stay towards the middle and for the second set you'll want to move further right than Fox News. Lastly, you'll have three (3) spinning mines that are easily avoidable if you stay to the lower-right of the screen.
This is the most frustrating trophy in the game but once you get the proper trail down it’s not too bad. If for any reason you think you hit a mine then restart the checkpoint (section) and try again. One way to be sure if you hit a mine or not is to look at your multiplier, if it turns red and goes down then you hit a mine.

This trophy is basically un-missable as you will defeat hundreds of bikers during your playthroughs. This trophy is obtained during the chase sequences.
You can check the progress of this trophy in Statistics tab, under Extras in the Main Menu.
This trophy is basically un-missable as you will destroy at least a dozen of these platforms during your playthroughs. This trophy is obtained during the chase sequences.

Your multiplier is displayed in the top right corner of the HUD. The way it works is simple; you get x0.1 points per kill and lose x0.1 every time you are damaged. But you get multiplier bonuses that can drastically increase these numbers; the bonuses depend on how big your combos are. This is a very simple trophy and should get it early on in the game.

You only get to neuralize humans after a chapter is over. To neuralize a human you first need to capture the humans by using your bubble takedown attachment. You equip the bubble attachment by holding and pressing on the D-pad. Once equipped aim your cursor over a human then press and hold to capture them. Do this seven times for the trophy. You will have a chance to capture 7 humans during the 3rd chapter after you have finished sneaking and sleuthing around the party.
Story related and cannot be missed. At the end of chapter 2 you will have a virtual boss fight with a large plant. During the final phase of the fight the plant will grab you with a tentacle and try to pull you into its mouth to eat you. As you are being dragged and inching closer and closer to becoming plant food shoot one of the four yellow petals in the plants' face to free yourself and unlock the trophy. Shoot all four petals to finish the fight.
Story related and cannot be missed. You fight the Nakkadan Elite Guard in the first section of chapter 7. The Nakkadan has the ability to clone himself and regenerate his health. The quickest way to defeat him is to use your Refracto Shield (hold and press to select it and press to activate it) and rapidly blast him with your BANGer (equip it by pressing on the D-pad). Take cover when you need to. This fight is frustrating on Elite Agent difficulty so you may need to take cover more often on that difficulty.
This trophy requires you to scan to find the two aliens who are hiding in human bodies. When near humans enter scan mode by pressing hold the cursor over the people until they are either identified as human or alien. The 1st alien is in chapter 4. After you fight through the museum, you'll come outside and see like 4-5 people running around. I found the alien on the far left side of the screen hiding behind a car with two other humans, the alien will be hiding near the engine block. The 2nd alien is in the final section of chapter 7. As soon as the section begins before you go down the stairs to head towards the fountain you'll see 3 humans, the alien will be inside of the middle human.

This is basically un-missible. There are tons of different combos in this game that range from rapidly killing enemies to killing enemies with a combination of guns and attachments. You will more than likely unlock this trophy early in the game before you get a grasp on how the combo system actually works.
Complete all the Competitive maps in V.R. Missions
For this trophy you will need to complete 12 competitive V.R. Missions. These missions must be played in 2-player split-screen. So you will need two controllers (either 2 Dualshock 3s, or 1 Dualshock 3 and a MOVE+Nav combo, or any combination thereof). You don’t need a second player with you as this is an on-rails arcade shooter and player 2 will follow you and even take cover throughout the level.
The 12 competitive V.R. Missions are:
Central Park Assault
Museum Mayhem
Underground Attack
New Mexico Fighting
Alien Ship Fuss
Street Riots
Fountain Barrage
Museum Invasion
Underground Offensive
New Mexico Raid
Alien Ship Ambush
Street Intervention
Use this list and check off each map that you have completed. The way the menu works it looks as if you are playing the same missions twice but you are not, you are playing on each map twice but there will be two different missions. Don't let the recycled map photos fool you into thinking you already played a certain mission, go by the above list. This should take you a total of 35-40 minutes.
It’s best to play these missions after you have completed the main game because you will keep all the weapons and upgrades from the story. These missions are short and easy, if you die you will respawn in one second.
While grinding out these missions you will need to score at least 300,000 points in a single mission to obtain the three aforementioned V.R. Mission score trophies. Getting 300,000 points is very simple; you’ll get this by doing two combos and simply not dying during the mission. The easiest and most effective combo is the “caught” combo. To pull off the “caught” combo equip the anti-gravity grenade by holding and pressing on the D-pad. Now fire a grenade into a group of aliens to make them float in the air, now shoot them to death while they are drifting helplessly in the air for maximum points.
Follow this excellent video by VGMMDI if you need any help getting 300,000 points.
Self-explanatory, kill 50 enemies with the Std. Issue 1995. Once acquired the gun is mapped to on the D-pad. Tip: This is an excellent weapon fully maxed out, make use of it during your Elite Agent playthrough.
Self-explanatory, kill 200 enemies with the BANGer. Once acquired the gun is mapped to (twice) on the D-pad. This gun is a beast and will help you quick dispatch of bosses on the Elite Agent difficulty.
Self-explanatory, freeze 30 enemies with the Icer. Once acquired this attachment is mapped to (once) on the D-pad, remember you must hold down to select attachments. Fire with .
Self-explanatory, make 30 enemies fly by shooting an Anti-Gravity grenade near them. Once acquired this attachment is mapped to on the D-pad, remember you must hold down to select attachments. Fire with .
Use the Refracto Shield to reflect 100 enemy projectiles
Self-explanatory, block 100 projectiles from hurting you by activating the Refracto Shield. Once acquired this attachment is mapped to on the D-pad, remember you must hold down to select attachments. Bring up the shield with .
Defeat 20 enemies with the Rocket Launcher while flying the car
This trophy is basically un-missable as you will have the opportunity to destroy hundreds of enemies while “driving” your flying car during your playthroughs. This trophy is obtained during the chase sequences.
Defeat 30 enemies while they're under the effect of Cerebro Accelerator
Self-explanatory, defeat 30 enemies while time is slowed down after you activated your Cerebro Accelerator . Once acquired this attachment is mapped to (twice) on the D-pad, remember you must hold down to select attachments. Slow down time with .
Story related, cannot be missed. This is the boss battle that takes place while you are in your flying car. It is very simple, just fill Khnemu full of lead and rockets while avoiding this charge attacks. His first charge attack goes right so press to avoid it and his second charge attack goes left so press to dodge it. This fight should not take more than about 90 seconds on either difficulty.
Story related, cannot be missed. You gather upgrade points by defeating enemies and performing combos. Bosses alone are worth 10 upgrade points. You’ll get this trophy early on in the game as 50 upgrade points wouldn’t even make a dent in maxing out all guns and attachments. For peace of mind here are the requirements for maxing out everything:
Triabarrel = 14
Std. Issue 1995 = 14
BANGer = 14
Adorian Crossbow = 4
Noisy Cricket = 14
Anti-Gravity Grenade = 13
Icer = 13
Cerebro Accelerator = 13
Refracto Shield = 14
Bubble Takedown = 0
For a total of 113 upgrade points. As you can see this trophy requires less than half of the max out amount.
Story related, cannot be missed. This is the final boss battle.
To defeat Nethera you must first destroy the three yellow weak points above her head. Once destroyed you must then shoot at her weak point in the center of her chest cavity. This is the same cavity she opens up to dispatch those little critters that attack and hold on to you. Once her health meter is about 1/3 full there will be a mini cut-scene.
From here, continue to attack her chest and keep the critters off of you. As Nethera is damaged she will fall back under a large magnet with 3 rubber hoses holding it up. You must destroy all 3 hoses to make the magnet fall on Nethera crushing her and ending the game.
Note: This fight on Elite Agent difficulty is surprisingly cheap. As after you destroy the first yellow weak point on her scorpion tail above her head, Nethera will randomly begin using a new attack which is her repeatedly pounding you with her scorpion stinger, it is very tough to dodge these attacks and they will take 80-90% of your health away resulting in a very cheap death. This is very frustrating when you are just a couple of destroyed hoses away from beating her, and then all of a sudden you’re dead and have to restart the whole fight from the beginning again.
I found the best way to beat her on this difficulty is to use the fully upgraded Std. Issue 1995 and BANGer. The BANGer works best for the critters because of its superior bullet spread. Also use anti-gravity grenades to elevate the critters to kill them so you can get much needed health orbs.
The best way to control the critters is to use a fully upgraded anti-gravity grenade. Its most efficient to fire a grenade in front of Nethera as she begins to unleash the critters, this way all of the critters are birthed into anti-gravity field, now they are easy pickings.
With no critters around use the 1995 to keep Nethera a good distance from you and to weaken her scorpion tail or chest cavity. Once all 3 weak points on her tail are gone, focus on her chest. After the cut-scene focus on her chest and the critters until you destroy all three hoses and kill her. If you are having trouble you should use the Cerebro Accelerator to slow down time.
You should also make good use of the dodge ability. You may have forgotten all about it because there was no reason to use it during the game. When you see Nethera coming in for her super stinger attack hold and mash either or this is the best way to attempt to avoid these attacks but it by no means mitigates the cheapness of them; it will however save your life on occasion.
Use the fully upgraded Std. Issue 1995 to destroy the hoses because the upgraded 1995 shoots 3 shots per single trigger pull; this way you will hit multiple hoses quickening the fight which is imperative because the longer the fight the higher the chance Nethera will cheaply kill you.
This Mode is unlocked after finishing the game once on Agent difficulty. Do not start a new save file or a new story. Just change the difficulty in the Extras menu and chapter select the first chapter. Then just continue on from there.
Elite Agent difficulty is extremely easy and you won’t really notice any difference between it and Agent difficulty. Just be prepared to fight an awfully cheap Nethera (final boss).
Tips for Elite Agent:
Obviously max out all your weapons and attachments.
Make good use of the Reflecto Shield, this will let you stay out off cover longer to kill aliens faster.
The BANGer and Std. Issue 1995 are excellent guns but you’ll want to uses the automatic fire of the Tribarrel for most of the game to save your trigger finger from cramping up.
Use your pick-ups, when low on health camping behind cover isn’t the best strategy, dead aliens drop health so you have a better shot of staying alive by being aggressive then by cowering.
