Introduction
Welcome to Marvel vs Capcom 3, the most anticipated fighting game of the year 2011. After a decade of waiting we finally get the sequel to one of the world’s greatest fighting games Marvel vs Capcom 2. The game has been set back to a lower roster as opposed to its previous game to help keep more balance in the game. The game introduces new features to allow casual players to easily get appealed to the game, and do cool stuff with little effort while still keeping the mechanics of a regular fighting game so that it can be played at a competitive level. The trophies don't show any real difficulty, they will just give you a long grind to look forward to. If there was anything "hard" about this game it would be completing 320 missions in mission mode, then the luck of finding an opponent in matchmaking whom has reached the 1st-lord rank (or higher).
Tracking Your Trophies
Utilize the information supplied to you through your License Card which can be accessed in the main menu by pressing . The License Card can help you keep track of:
Player Points (PP)
Mission Mode Missions Cleared
Characters you cleared Arcade mode with (through your titles)
Hyper Combo Wins
Delay in Trophies Unlocking:
In Marvel vs Capcom 3 the trophy unlocking chime seems to have a long delay. For example if you were to use X-Factor in a match, the trophy is supposed to unlock after you complete your match. However, because of the delay you won't see it chime on your screen until the middle of the following match or just after a minute or so of waiting.
Breakdown / Player Points
You can go about obtaining all the trophies in whatever order you wish, as there is no wrong or right approach. But before you go about attempting the in your own way, you want to keep in mind that there are characters that must be unlocked as they will be required for some trophies. Here are the required characters that have yet to be unlocked through PP such as:
Akuma (2,000 PP)
Sentinel (4,000 PP)
Hsien-Ko (6,000 PP)
Taskmaster (8,000 PP)
Once you have them all unlocked you can go about getting all the trophies in whatever order you wish to. PP is earned by doing just about everything so somewhere on your path to you will unlock the following trophies and you won't even know it:
World Warrior Champion Edition Hero Super Turbo Brawler
Offline Mode / Arcade Mode
This will be a very tedious step but it is one you must endure if you wish to obtain . Your main objective will be to obtain each of the character endings towards Waiting for the Trade. While you are obtaining all the character endings, you can multi-task on various other trophies at the same time. What you want to do is have the following settings each time you play a run of Arcade Mode:
Difficulty: Very Easy
Timer: 30 Seconds
Damage: Highest
Among all other trophies to earn, you want to make sure you start on one of the more long term trophies right away. During each of your matches you want to burn all of your meter and make sure you are using all your meter towards the 1,000 you need for Mega Buster (if you haven't unlocked Galactic Smasher yet then you want to end all your matches with a Crossover Combination Finish). Doing this for all 36 characters will surely net you enough progress towards Mega Buster as you finish up with your last few characters.
During this step you will also need to play at least once on Very Hard mode for the Herculean Task. Use this Arcade Run to your advantage too towards Waiting for the Trade. You can check your progress for the endings by going into your License Card () and then pressing to check your titles for each character's trophy for completing Arcade mode. During this step you should definitely unlock the following trophies upon finishing:
I Buy the Issues Waiting for the Trade Saving My Quarters Herculean Task A Hero Stands Alone Need a Healing Factor One Step Ahead Steel Battalion Mega Buster Ultimate Nullifier Wreak 'Havok' Big Bang Theory Galactic Smasher Passport to Beatdown Country Comic Collector Avengers Assemble! Badds to the Bone Darkstalkers Weapon X Female Flyers
Offline Mode / Mission Mode:
During this portion of the game you will have to complete 320 missions in Mission Mode. The game features 32 pre-unlocked characters, 4 unlockable characters and 2 optional DLC characters. With 10 missions to each character there are 320/380 possible missions you must complete for the trophies in this step. While this is easily possible for regular fighting game players it will be quite the challenge for newcomers, but still doable. The challenges are not anything overwhelming compared to the difficulty of Super Street Fighter IV or Blazblue Continuum Shift trials, which have strict timings. For this portion make sure to use these two references if you are having trouble with any of the missions:
You can earn the following trophies during this step:
Welcome to Avengers Academy! Passed the Field Test A New Avenger
Online Mode Breakdown:
During this portion you will have various tasks that involve participation in both Player and Ranked matches in online mode. A lot of the online trophies can be boosted within Player Matches, however there are some trophies that require some regular play in Ranked as well as boosting attempts through ranked matchmaking.
In player matches you can boost special character versus specific trophies as well as the miscellaneous trophies that are possible in the "Offline Mode / Arcade Mode" step but are much less of a hassle with a boosting partner to play with. The trophies you want to boost through player matches are as follows:
Full Roster Brave New World Who Will Answer the Call? Whose Side Are You On? Fate of Two Worlds Duty and Deus Ex Machina Copy This! Raccoon City Incident Fate of the Satsui no Hadou
These trophies can be obtained through "Offline Mode / Arcade Mode" as well but are much easier against an actual player:
Average Joe Brusin' Bruce Charles in Charge Be Gone! Back at 'Cha! Excelsior! Turn the Tables
Also keep in mind that some of these trophies require you to have meter. Additional ways to build meter opposed to attacking or defending from each other would be by using any of the following:
Assist Type with Morrigan (Dark Harmonizer) or Amaterasu (Bloom)
(Hold) with Felicia (EX Charge) or Thor (Mighty Speech)
Hit or when performing a Team Aerial Combo
Finally, you have the trophies that must be unlocked through Ranked matches. The biggest hassle here will be fighting someone of the First Lord rank and winning 5 games in a row, especially if you are an inexperienced player. These trophies can be boosted. Please refer to School for the Gifted for the boosting method to make obtaining these trophies easier than it should be:
Playtime Is Over Leading the Charge Combat Specialist School for the Gifted
Conclusion:
Marvel vs Capcom 3 is definitely a shorter than most other fighters. But with the Mission Mode trophies on that list it could be just as long as playing those other fighters. When it is all is said and done you should have obtained this trophy:
Master of Fate

[PS3T Would Like to Thank Setsuna and technole for this Roadmap]
There are a total of 36 endings in Arcade mode, 1 for each of the individual characters and 1 for Galactus himself. To obtain the ending to a character you must have that character give Galactus the finishing blow at the end of any session of Arcade mode. The other characters in your team will not get any credit towards this they will have to land the finishing blow themselves on separate runs. The ideal settings you want to have while doing this are:
Difficulty: Very Easy
Timer: 30
Damage: Highest
This may be a tedious step but it's a very easy one and it can help grind out other trophies as you work on this. When doing all these runs you ideally want to have 2 strong characters or just characters you are comfortable and familiar with and then the character you want the ending for as your last team member. When you reach Galactus, kill off his gel henchmen and then lower his health down to the very bottom without killing him. It's at this point that you want to switch out to the character for the ending and finish him off. You will have to repeat this process 36 times. You can keep of the characters you have completed by viewing your titles and looking down the 2nd column of titles, which are titles for completing arcade mode with those characters.
To obtain the ending for Galactus you must lose to him in Arcade mode and when it says "game over" simply allow the timer to run out for the ending.
Strong Recommended Characters:
Wolverine
Wolverine is fast and has a very high damage output, his easy BnB makes him also one of the most hated characters in competition play.
Hulk
Hulk much like Wolverine has a high damage output but more so than Wolverine to make up for his lack in speed. Hulk's greatest weapon for novices is his standing which has super armor during the early frames of start up so he cannot be stopped once the move has been inputted unless hit multiple times otherwise.
Sentinel
The strongest character in the game and cheapest as well. His basic aerial combo can lead to a Rocket Punch (+) into Hyper Sentinel Force (+) follow up which deals major damage. His standing and couching is a strong full screen projectile and he has a couching attacking that has super armor as well which can be followed up into the basic aerial BnB.
Arcade mode on the hardest difficulty (aka Very Hard) is quick to challenge even the above average players. The enemy CPUs seem to know how to block every move, every cross up, and then punish whiffed attacks with basic BnB's. It can definitely get frustrating to those of low experience. You want to have the following settings for this trophy:
Difficulty: Very Hard (obviously)
Timer: 30
Damage: Highest
You want to timer to be at its lowest so you can simply run out the time while you are chipping out the enemy CPU and you want the damage to be at its highest for when you face Galactus, the sooner you can kill him the better.
Recommended Characters of Choice: Magneto ( Type EM Disruptor) Sentinel ( Type Sentinel Force Charge) Dr. Doom ( Type Hidden Missiles)
General Strategy:
With Magneto you want to spam EM Disruptor (+) preferably the variant since it has a much faster start-up opposed to the other variants. When an enemy character is trying to close the gap in space between the two of you, you want to use Shockwave (+) which will push the opponent back to the other side of the screen.
With Sentinel you can spam standing or couching for his full screen projectile laser which deals a ton of damage regardless of whether it was hit or just chip damage. Just like Magneto's Shockwave you can back opposing characters way with Sentinels Hyper Sentinel Force (+)
Dr. Doom you want as an assist-only character, his hidden missiles assist will follow the opposing character and give you openings if the missiles do indeed hit or just extra damage if you are spamming one of the above projectiles.
Fight Against Galactus:
While the fight against the gel heralds are but a breeze with Sentinels standing the real trouble starts when you fight Galactus. On Very Hard Galactus will attack much more frequently as opposed to lower difficulties. You want to continue using standing with Sentinel and use up any meter you can by using Hyper Sentinel Force (+) for quick damage.
One notable move Galactus has is a grab move that cannot be blocked if it is range (the grab will be obvious as he spreads his arms out in the background and looks as if he is about to slap his hands together). You need to super jump to avoid it otherwise it will hit, guaranteed.
After you have brought him down a bit more in health he will start to use stronger attacks, lasers than can instant kill any of your characters in one touch. If you have it use X-Factor at this point to block and avoid massive chip damage and then proceed to finishing off Galactus.
This trophy can easily be done while you are working on Waiting for the Trade. Keep in mind that Arcade mode is single player so you cannot “save” yourself by pressing like in regular fighting games.
Player Points (PP) are earned from doing practically anything from playing Arcade mode, Training mode, Mission mode and by playing matches online. If you are planning on getting the in the game this will come naturally overtime especially while working on Waiting for the Trade.
You can check the amount of PP you currently have pressing to view your license card and it will be the first thing you see to the top right.
To obtain the corresponding trophies you must reach the following combo hit counts:
Average Joe: 31+ Hits Brusin' Bruce: 65+ Hits Charles in Charge: 91+ Hits
These trophies stack so you can earn Charles in Charge and the rest all in one go. The best way to obtain this is through a Crossover Combination attack (+ / ) with 3 of the following characters:
Dante
Deadpool
Ironman
MODOK
When doing a Crossover Combination attack the characters usually use a preset Hyper move. The presets for the above characters are:
Dante: Jackpot (+)
Deadpool: Happy Happy Trigger (+)
Ironman: Proton Cannon (+)
MODOK: Hyper Psionic Blaster (+)
All of these moves are full-screen rapid projectile hypers that go straight forward and have decently high hit count. When a combination of the 3 are put together it should exceed over 91+ hits for this trophy.
Alternatively, you can also earn this through a long combo or if you catch an opponent's assist when they come out. While their character is already stuck in one of your combos, this will increase the combo count for the duration that the assist character is stuck within the combo.
To achieve the rank of Fighter you must win on average around 10 ranked matches online. You can view the progress of your rank leveling on the bar below your rank title when entering a match or by viewing it through your license card in the main menu. You can boost this if you are having difficulty winning matches.
Fighting someone (win or lose) who has reached that rank
If you went with Option 1 you would be looking at around 1000+ Ranked Victories. How many matches it takes you to reach that goal is entirely up to your skill and the rank of the opponents you play against. This option is not recommended.
Option 2 you simply have to play someone of that rank and you will obtain the trophy at the end of the match. Nowadays there is a long list of '1st' class rank players online that you could simply play online matchmaking normally and sooner or later you will run into a '1st' class rank opponent. They appear much easier if you do a custom match with everything set to "Any" as opposed to doing Quick Matches.
In Mission mode there are 10 missions for each character, there are 36 characters in the game (plus 2 DLC characters) giving you 360 chances (380 If you include the DLC) to complete for this trophy. Unlike Super Street Fighter 4 or Blazblue: Continuum Shift, the Mission mode of Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 is not that much harder, however there are some missions that will be difficult to perform. Missions range from 1 to 5 stars, and are rated as follows:
Mission 1-2 (1 Star)
Mission 3-4 (2 Star)
Mission 5-6 (3 Star)
Mission 7-8 (4 Star)
Mission 9 -10 (5 Stars)
Don’t let the difficulty rating fool you. Some higher level missions are easier the lower level missions before it. This missions have you perform moves that involve things such as:
Canceling into your Hyper Combo
Using X-Factor within the combo
Doing an Air Combo
Using Partner Assists
And much more. Even though it is not as hard as SSFIV or BBCS this will still take some time and dedication to complete. Some tips for taking on this trophy are:
DO NOT press in between move sets in the hopes of it working to your advantage, a majority of the time it will screw you up and do more harm than good.
Try practicing portions of the combo once step at a time and then try to do it all at once.
Moving your enemy CPU to the corner will help with some combos unless the combo is mid-screen specific.

VesperAracades Youtube Channel This channel visually displays how the mission will (or can) look when successfully done. This definitely aids players in the later missions for the longer combos in terms of timing and hidden optional "movements" that could help make completing the challenge much easier.

You should have 320 missions cleared when you reach the following percentages:
In Gallery Mode you must collect all the items in each selection:
Movies
Character Bios
Character Endings
Model Viewer
Artwork
Sound
Most of which are done by getting each character ending. There are also additional requirements you must meet. To unlock all the items in the gallery you must complete the following:
Get at least 60,000 PP (This is for Cinema and Special Art Unlocks)
Land the final glow against Galactus with every character on any difficulty.
Lost the Final Stage of Arcade Mode against Galactus.
Complete at least 1 Mission mode mission with every character.
You can enter your gallery and check your progress through the percentage displayed on the screen.
Use 1,000 Hyper Combo Gauge bars. (Arcade/online only)
Over the course of your entire Marvel vs. Capcom 3 career, you must accumulate a total of 1,000 Hyper combo gauge bars used across arcade and online mode. There are multiple ways to use your Hyper Combo Gauge such as:
Hyper Specials: 1 -3 Bars
Snap Backs: 1 Bar
Crossover Counter: 1 Bar
Crossover Combination Attack: 2-3 bars
So long as you keep using Hyper Bars in every match you play you should unlock this trophy eventually.
To perform an Advancing Guard you must hit + while guarding. This is a good guard to always use on block as it can reduce chip damage and push the opposing character back if they are in your face to give you room to retreat and compose yourself.
An easy way to get fast advancing guards is to mash it out when you are in the middle of guarding long multiple-hit hyper combos. If you were to boost these out with a friend the best multi-hit Hypers for him to use against you would be:
To perform a Snap Back, you must input + or. When you use the snap back an orange flash will appear at the tip of your character's attack and if it successfully hits the words "Snap back" will appear. To use a Snap Back you require:
At least one hyper bar
Your opponent have at least 2 of his team members alive
This may be hard for novice players to perform on moving characters in Arcade mode, so if you are having difficulty hitting Snap Backs you can boost them off a friend in player matches. If you are looking for a boosting partner please refer to this thread: Marvel vs Capcom 3 Trophy Boosting Thread
Utilizing Snap Backs in Real Play:
In real play you want to make sure that when you are trying to snap in a resting team member of the opposing player's team that it's guaranteed. In the middle of just about every character BnB's there will be a time when you can use a snap back instead of continuing the combo, for example:
Zero: During Zero's (+) you can immediately input the Snap Back instead of continuing with the combo
Dante: After any form of ground bounce from moves such as Killer Bee (Air +) or Million Carats (during Crystal +) you can follow it up with a snap back.
Always consider using a snap back when a character has a lot of red health and you don't want them to recover that red health while they are sitting in the back field. Also make it a priority to use a Snap Back against Phoenix players.
To perform a Crossover Counter you must input + or while you are blocking an attack from an opposing character. If done successfully your characters will switch out and the new character will come in with a green flash using the assist move they are currently set on. To use a Crossover Counter you require:
1 hyper meter
At least 1 character to switch out with, you cannot use this without one character left
This is one of the harder moves to use by yourself within Arcade Mode. As CPUs are so unpredictable it's hard to know when to guard and buffer the input to perform the Crossover Counter. An easy way to guarantee a Crossover Counter is when you are getting hit by a long multiple hit normal attack such as:
Zero's Standing
Tron's Standing
Morrigan's Standing
Moves such as these are easy to react to and buffer the input for a Crossover Counter even after already getting hit by the attack. If you are having difficulty doing these in Arcade Mode by yourself or if you're just impatient, you would be better off boosting this with a friend. If you are looking for a boosting partner please refer to this thread: Marvel vs Capcom 3 Trophy Boosting Thread
Utilizing Crossover Counter's in Real Play:
Depending on the assist types you have set on your characters, you use Crossover Counters to take an opponent by surprise. Then safely get a character in with doing a raw tag (switch character's out normally) or even use the Crossover Counter move to combo into a follow up move to kill off players who are playing too offensively. An example of a good Crossover Counter combo is:
Dante's Type Assist Jam Session: Crossover Counter > Jackpot (+)
Perform 10 Team Aerial Combos. (Arcade/online only)
Team Aerial Combos are like extensions of combos that can be performed in the air. You can perform a Team Aerial Combo so long as you have an extra teammate waiting in line. To perform a Team Aerial Combo you must first launch an opponent in the air with , once in the air you must follow up with at least one basic attack and then you can press the directional pad , or . Depending on what direction you choose, the Team Aerial Combo with have a different effect:
: Sends the opponent into the air. Does the most damage. : Sends the opponent against the wall for a wall bounce. Does low damage Doing this builds 1/2 meter. : Sends the opponent downward for a ground bounce. Doing this builds 1 meter.
So depending on what you need, you will want to kill off your opponent or build meter for whatever reason you have these options to choose from.
Utilizing Team Aerial Combos in Real Play:
You want to add a Team Aerial Combo to your regular play when your opponent least expects it. Early on they may expect one but after they believe you have a habit of not doing one they'll let down their guard.
The best times to use these are when your current character on the field is running low on health with a lot of red health that he can possibly recover. Sneaking in the Team Aerial Combo can switch him out safely. While continuing the combo however, be wary as some players expect such actions on the character with low health and they could use a Team Aerial Counter which deals damage. So depending on your character's health it could kill them if it's too low.
Hyper Combo Finishes are done at the very end of the match; you must finish your opponent's last character off with any attack that uses meter. There are multiple ways to use a hyper attack, most of which include the following move sets:
+
+
+
When you have successfully done a Hyper Combo Finish, the background will flash variants of orange and it will be announced that it was a "Hyper Combo KO". When working on this you could also work on Galactic Smasher at the same time which uses meter for its finishes as well.
To perform a Crossover Combination Finish you must finish you opponent's last character with a Crossover Combination attack which is done by pressing or . Performing this requires you to have at least two characters alive in your team and at least 2 Hyper Bars.
While working on Waiting for the Trade you could end every round with a Crossover Combination Finish so around the 6th runthrough of Arcade mode you should have this trophy unlocked. Progress towards this trophy also counts towards Big Bang Theory.
Utilizing Crossover Combination's in Real Play:
There is no real way to really utilize Crossover Combinations except to add extra damage using Crossover Combinations as the substitute for regular hyper attacks that wouldn't normally connection for example:
Using Wesker's Samurai Edge Lower Shot OTG move (+) you normally wouldn't be able to follow up with a hyper such as Phantom Dance (+). However, if you were to use a Crossover Combination it would connect but would not deal as much damage but if you are trying to kill off an opponent's character, the lower amount of damage might not be of importance.
X-Factor can be activated by pressing all four attack buttons at the same time () at any time. The character using it will glow red and will have enhanced speed and power for the duration of the X-Factor activation and immunity to ship damage. The power/speed increase as well as how long X-Factor lasts is dependent on how many characters you have left on your team.
Level 1 (3 Team Members): Lasts 10 seconds, up to 160% dmg increase and up to 125% speed increase
Level 2 (2 Team Members): Lasts 15 seconds, up to 180% dmg increase and up to 150% speed increase
Level 3 (1 Team Member): Lasts 20 seconds, up to 230% dmg increase and up to 175% speed increase
Utilizing X-Factor in Real Play:
X-Factor is the biggest comeback tool in any fighting game to date. With characters like Wolverine who have a high damage output, they can kill off enemies in one combo with just Level 1 X-Factor. Other characters have to work a bit more or wait until Level 2 or Level 3 so sometimes it may be good to wait to use it at the very last or if you have confidence in yourself to burn it at the very beginning.
You can also use X-Factor as a combo extender to the end of combos with a hyper. For example say you use Delayed Hyper Combos (DHC) with all three of your characters already, after the last one you can X-Factor and continue it with the same Hyper you were already using for more damage and to possibly kill off a threatening character.
Depending on your team, you want to use X-Factor wisely and know what moves you can X-Factor cancel with and the follow ups you can use afterwards to extend the combo. A good example is Wolverines Couching , normally it can't be followed up into anything unless you use an assist of some sort to keep the combo going, however with X-Factor you can XFC after the couching hits the enemy up and then follow it up with and from there Wolverine's relaunch BnB.
Land a Team Aerial Counter in a match. (Arcade/online only)
A Team Aerial Counter is basically guessing your opponents Team Aerial Combo direction correctly. Please refer to Excelsior! for more information in regards to Team Aerial Combos.
Team Aerial Combos are performed by hitting and a certain direction such as , and . During that second when the team aerial combo happens, you can guess the direction of the team aerial combo that your opponent selected and if you guessed correctly you will do a Team Aerial Counter. There are no requirements or downsides to doing Team Aerial Counters, they are more of a way of saying "I saw that coming" to your opponent.
This one is much harder to do against computers because their moves and inputs are so random, so I would highly advise boosting this one online. If you are looking for a boosting partner please refer to this thread: Marvel vs Capcom 3 Trophy Boosting Thread
Land 50 First Attacks in a match. (Arcade/online only)
First Attacks are done at the very start of the match. You must be the first player to hit the other opponent with a clean hit. The opponent cannot be blocking during this period or it will not count as a first attack.
An easy way to get a fast attack on CPU players are with quick cross-up moves such as Wolverines Berserker Slash (+).
Make a team composed of women who can fly, and win a match. (Arcade/online only)
These trophies can easily be done in one run on Arcade mode on Very Easy or through boosting in online mode. Here are the list of characters that correlate with each trophy:
Avengers Assemble!: Captain America, Iron Man and Thor Badds to the Bone: Spencer, Iron Man and MODOK Darkstalkers: Felicia, Morrigan and Hsien-Ko Weapon X: Wolverine, X-23 and Deadpool Female Flyers: Storm, Phoenix, Morrigan and Trish (Any of the 3 will work for this one)
If you are going to do it in Arcade mode what you can do is after finishing a match with one team, at the start of the next round press and go to character select and then you can pick the next team you need for your next trophy.
Decide who is the true master of the fist in an online match.
For these you must play a match (win or lose) with a certain character on your team and another specific character on the opponent's team. The two characters don't have to face each other during the match, they just have to be on opposing teams. Here are the characters you must match up against each other and the trophies that unlock with them:
Whose Side Are You On?: Iron Man vs Captain America Fate of Two Worlds: Ryu vs Wolverine Duty and Deus Ex Machina: Captain America vs MODOK Copy This!: Spiderman vs Taskmaster Raccoon City Incident: Chris vs Wesker Fate of the Satsui no Hadou: Ryu vs Akuma
While there are six separate trophies for these match-up trophies, you can get multiple ones from the same battles so ideally you can receive all six in two battles. If you have a boosting partner have one person select the following team and have the other pick the opposite team:
Game 1: Ryu, Chris and (Random Select) vs Akuma, Wolverine and Wesker
Game 2: Spiderman, Captain America and (Random Select) vs Taskmaster, MODOK and Ironman
After these two games you and your partner should have all 6 trophies each. If you are looking for a boosting partner please refer to this thread: Marvel vs Capcom 3 Trophy Boosting Thread
To block you must hold either to block low or to block high. After you have blocked 100 attacks this will unlock. Multi-shot projectile attacks count as multi-blocks. So long as you block in all your matches then this should some naturally.
There are a total of 9 stages you must fight through. After a couple of playthroughs in the Arcade mode, this should unlock. The final boss fight in Arcade mode at "Fate of the Earth" does not count as a level, so is not required to unlock this trophy. The list of the nine stages is below:
For this trophy you must fight against every character in the game in player and/or ranked matches. The characters the opponent selects all count toward this trophy, as you do not necessarily have to fight each of them during the battle at all. This will unlock at the start of the match where you have faced all the characters. Here is a list of all the characters you need to fight:
Marvel
Captain America
Deadpool
Doctor Doom
Dormammu
Hulk
Iron Man
Magneto
M.O.D.O.K
Phoenix
She-Hulk
Spider-man
Storm
Super-Skrull
Thor
Wolverine
X-23
Sentinel
Taskmaster
Capcom
Amaterasu
Arthur
Chris Redfield
Chun-Li
C.Viper
Dante
Felicia
Haggar
Morigan
Ryu
Spencer
Trish
Tron
Wesker
Viewtiful Joe
Zero
Akuma
Hsien-ko
If you are having difficulty fighting opponents who use character(s) you need for your trophy, you can invite a friend to a player match and grind the rest of them out with them. If you are looking for a boosting partner please refer to this thread: Marvel vs Capcom 3 Trophy Boosting Thread
For this trophy you must simply be in a Player Match lobby that consist of 8 players total, this will unlock as soon as the 8th person enters the lobby. Alternatives to get this trophy are to create a Player Match lobby and invite your friends (if that is not enough hope that random players join to complete the eight) or to search through the player match lobbies for a lobby that is close to 8 (you can press at the Player Match lobby search to refresh the list). If you want to guarantee yourself the trophy, find seven other friends who can get on at the same time and invite them all into the lobby.
Win a match without calling your partners or switching out. (Arcade/online only)
To unlock this trophy you basically want to avoid using or to call in your assist. This can easily be unlocked while you are grinding out all the character endings for Waiting for the Trade.
Win a match without blocking. (Arcade/online only)
In a match you hold either to block low or to block high when you are getting attacked. While grinding out Waiting for the Trade you will likely get this trophy as you will constantly be on the offensive. You can alternatively boost this as well if you are having trouble with this.
You must win 5 Ranked Matches online in a row, you can do this in multiple sittings. The biggest problem about this trophy is not winning the matches, it is finding the matches. With the online servers always giving players “Failed to Join Game” or “Lost Connection to the Host” messages, it's extremely frustrating to even play a game. If you do so happen to get into a game, I advise just using your best team, do not let higher ranking players intimidate you, it just means they have played the game more than you have. Their win/lose ratio on the other hand is something you should take notice of.
If you are a complete beginner you can try the method for Herculean Task at the risk of ragequits and hate mail. DO NOT quit out to your XMB out of your matches, not only does it penalize you for ending a match prematurely but you will also lose whatever winning streak you had.
This is boostable to some extent however there's still that chance you could pair up with someone else. Go into Ranked match and do a custom search under these settings:
Region: Same
Language: Japanese
Rank: Same (If you and your boosting partner are the same rank)
And then simply search, there is a better chance of pairing up against your partner like this opposed to regular quick search. You could also use this method to possibly grind out Combat Specialist.
It is also worth noting your win streaks are stored locally in your MvC3 save file on the PS3. For example, if you compile a two-game winning streak, you can quit to the XMB and backup your save file to “preserve” that winning streak. Then if you lose the third ranked battle, simply restore that save and your previous streak will continue. You can keep doing this until you eventually get a five-win streak to unlock the trophy.
